~ Well, after all the helpful advice everyone gave me about all my last team's weaknesses, I've decided to make a new one. This team has many more weaknesses than the last team...I think. Also, the team name is pretty...obvious...and you're about to see why I named them "Virus".
Time to meet...Team Virus!
Yanmega @ Focus Sash / Expert Belt
Speed Boost
Modest
4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Protect / U-Turn
Bug Buzz
Air Slash
Hypnosis
~ Starter: After seeing how much power this thing has as a starter, I had to try it! He's like an upgraded Ninjask! The "Virus" part in my team also starts with Yanmega. He puts you to sleep, then he can either U-Turn out or Bash away at the opponent with Bug Buzz and Air Slash. Protect can be used to gain speed boosts and stall.
Forretress @ Leftovers
Sturdy
Relaxed
252 HP / 162 Atk / 96 Def
Spikes
Rapid Spin
Gyro Ball
Earthquake
~ Physical Wall: Forretress does a heck of a job using spikes and getting rid of the opponent's rocks/t. spikes/spikes. He is also a part in the virus concept. As the opponent switches more and more, his spikes keep crippling them. Gyro Ball deals with those fast sweepers who try to use their high speeds to their advantages. Earthquake deals with Magnezone and Metagross to some extent.
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Water Absorb
Bold
188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpA
Wish
Ice Beam
Surf
Toxic
~ Special Wall: Virus Stage 3, Vaporeon. Vaporeon cripples the opponent even more with Toxic. Wish helps the team recover hp. Ice Beam and Surf put dents in even the sturdiest pokemon (I've tested this set on shoddy, he swept an entire team...o.o...) Basically, while Toxic is destroying the opponent, Vaporeon either dents them more with STAB Surfs and Regular Ice Beams, or switches to a more appropriate pokemon.
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Inner Focus
Impish
252 HP / 96 Def / 32 SpD / 128 Spe
Roost
Dragon Claw
Thunder Wave
Light Screen / Ice Beam / Earthquake / Stone Edge / Fire Punch
~ Tank: Virus Stage 4. Though his tanking abilities may look "weird", his movepool can surely cover for this. Dragon Claw keeps his great attack in play, while taking care of other dragons and denting most pokemon. Thunder Wave cripples the opponent even more and it screws up most "choiced" pokemon. Roost recovers any damage that Dragonite will take. The 4th slot is all about what I should cover. Light Screen weakens the opponent's spe. attacks. Ice Beam deals with flying and other Dragons, as well as the occasional Hippowdon, and Gliscor. Earthquake beats Fire types, and Steel types. Stone Edge beats Ice and Flying types down, while wearing Skarmory out! Fire Punch covers steel, ice, and grass, and dents Forretress, Jirachi (I hope!), and Forretress.
Gengar @ Life Orb / Expert Belt
Levitate
Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hypnosis
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Energy Ball / Psychic / Focus Blast
~ Special Sweeper: Gengar is an all-in-one pokemon. He cripples the opponent more AND he sweeps the crap out of most teams. Hynosis lulls the opponent to sleep for a while. While the opponent is in Dream Land, Gengar fires away with Shadow Ball (Hurts Deoxys-S & Alakazam mighty bad...), Thunderbolt (Good Bye Milotic, Gyrados, and Yanmega!), and a 4th slot move which depends solely on coverage.
Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Snow Cloak
Adamant
64 HP / 252 Atk / 192 Spe
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Ice Shard
Ice Fang
~ Physical Sweeper: Mamoswine holds one of the game's most ground breaking Earthquakes. Having Earthquake tear through or dent anything is a cool trick. Stone edge handles the common Gyrados, Skarmory, Aerodactyl, Togekiss, and Yanmega. Ice Shard is a fast priority move that destroys Dragons and Defensive Grounds. Ice Fang is being used over blizzards accuracy and because of Mamoswine's higher attack stat.
If you haven't guessed, my team is based around getting the opponent crippled and stalling enough to sweep with Gengar and Mamoswine. Also, if you havent noticed...I love Status Affecting moves. That's why I named the team "Virus", they cripple you until you're weak enough, then they get rid of you. One last thing, you will see huge weaknesses in Fire, Ice, and Electric. I need to cover those up somehow, so any suggestions/recommendations are welcome!
Thanks :)
Time to meet...Team Virus!
