Team with Hail (not a Hail Team!)

Howdy.

I can't remember exactly where I got the idea of using Abomasnow without building a hail team around him (though I think I remember an RMT called Screw Typing (found it! http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3484061)) but the idea itself is quite good.

Here you go:

Abomasnow @ Expert Belt
216 Atk | 200 SpAtk | 92 Spe
Lonely (+Atk,-Def)
Snow Warning
Ice Shard | Earthquake | Wood Hammer | Hidden Power Fire

Aboma gets a really bad rap for having a supposedly terrible typing. However, I prefer to look at the positive side, like having STAB priority and a powerful Wood Hammer. I see absolutely no point in investing in HP here, since those people are pretty much right about Aboma in that he can't take a hit to save his life. However, Aboma really has one important job: Kill the other weather inducers. With a little Speed investment, a mixed set becomes quite good. Wood Hammer demolishes all variants of Politoed (except maybe a 252 HP/252 Def build, which frankly doesn't exist) and puts a major dent in Tyranitar and Hippowdon. Ice Shard is handy if the opponent is just barely alive, and is expecially good for Hippowdon. Hidden Power Fire does pretty serious damage to Scizor and Ferrothorn, and I always have Heatran to deal with them later. Earthquake is really reserved for Ninetales on the switch in; it destroys all variants. It's also a clean OHKO on Heatran, which is a nice little bonus.

Starmie @ Leftovers
4 HP | 252 SpAtk | 252 Spe
Modest (+SpAtk,-Atk)
Natural Cure
Rapid Spin | Thunderbolt | Blizzard | Hydro Pump

This is a pretty great offensive spinner. Honestly, I never have too many problems with hazards, but it's nice to have some insurance, you know? I threw Blizzard on here to atone for the sin of having no Blizzard spam on a team with Hail, and went ahead with the excellent BoltBeam combo. Hydro Pump went over Surf because Starmie needs to maximize his damage output any way he can. I wish he was a little more bulky, because he's quite the utility counter thanks to his speed. Any suggestions on this bad boy would be appreciated.

Heatran @ Leftovers
252 SpAtk | 4 SpDef | 252 Spe
Modest (+SpAtk,-Atk)
Flash Fire
Fire Blast | Earth Power | Stealth Rock | Hidden Power Grass

I've never used Heatran before this team, and I must say that I'm rather satisfied with what I've got. I'm sure this set has some problems, but it performs its job well enough. Covering Aboma's glaring Fire weakness is his actual job, but he usually ends up just countering Grass and Steel types. Fire Blast hurts really badly (especially after Flash Fire) and OHKOs Scizor and Ferrothorn (and Forretress if I have Rocks up) and dents everything else. Earth Power is just a nice coverage option, and destroys opposing Fire types. SR is a great thing to have, but I rarely actually set it up. HP Grass hits Water types for decent damage on the switch in, but I'm not very satisfied with that. Any suggestions for this thing would be helpful.

Haxorus @ Choice Scarf
4 HP | 252 Atk | 252 Spe
Jolly (+Spe,-SpAtk)
Mold Breaker
Outrage | Superpower | Earthquake | Aqua Tail

I've never been more satisfied with a Scarfer than I am with Haxorus. Thanks to his monstrous Attack stat, he can now run around spamming godlike Outrages. Really, thanks to the power of Outrage, the other three options are situational. Superpower for the occasional Steel type, Earthquake for Fire types and the like, Aqua Tail for Gliscor really.

579.gif

Reuniclus @ Life Orb
252 HP | 252 Def | 4 SpAtk
Bold (+Def,-Atk)
Magic Guard
Calm Mind | Recover | Focus Blast | Psyshock

One of my two sweepers. I love Reuniclus because, once set up, he is basically the definition of 'unbreakable;' thanks to his invested bulk and Recover, he can stick around for a long-ass time. Calm Mind bulks up Uni on the special side while giving his attacking power a great boost. Recover is obvious here, allowing Uni to stay alive for the whole match if I played well. Focus Blast allows Uni to nail Steel and Dark types. Psyshock allows Uni to muscle through Blissey or Chansey, and it's nice to have a Psychic attack while Keldeo is still around (just please go ahead and ban that damn thing.)

632.gif

Durant @ Life Orb
252 Atk | 4 Def | 252 Spe
Jolly (+Spe,-SpAtk)
Hustle
Hone Claws | Superpower | Stone Edge | X-Scissor

Scizor, eat your heart out. I love Durant because no one expects this incredible sweeper in the upper tiers. Even with no investment and horrible HP, Durant can usually tank a physical attack (especially priority, which sadly Durant does not have). Once I have an Hone Claws boost under my belt, I lose the accuracy problems brought by Hustle and proceed to sweep. Superpower allows Durant to muscle through his Steel type nemeses with no problem. Stone Edge nails any unboosted Volcarona, as Durant outspeeds them before a Quiver Dance. It's nice to have for any Flying types as well. X-Scissor rounds out the set, not for SE coverage but to have a solid, accurate STAB attack.

Hope you enjoyed this team, please leave suggestions!
Thanks folks!
