XY LC Team XD- with sweeper dusty!

OK, so this team came to be pretty normally...

I NEEDED A TEAM. I made this quickly, trying out different EV spreads and movesets and such.
Eevee- I love eevee. It's unique, and It works well with a silk scarf. Plus it's ability adaptability makes STAB moves super-strong.
Squirtle- With eevee being offensive, I needed a defensive pokemon that can be a threat. I chose squirtle because He can get toxic, protect, plus some real great moves. Mine is a Sp. atk pokemon. This surprises some people, because he doesn't have aqua jet. He can be a threat, though..
Turtwig- I needed a pokemon that can stand there and take some damage while giving it out while I came up with a plan. She doesn't do too well, but for some reason I feel like she's important.
Buneary- Buneary came in because I needed a pokemon with Healing wish. I wanted my team to live as long as possible, so healing wish would help. I also needed another toxic pokemon if squirtle fainted, and since I couldn't think of any items to give her, I gave buneary a toxic orb and switchearoo.
Treeko- I don't like using too many grass types, but I needed a pokemon that could be a good choice specs or band user, and treeko seemed perfect. Drain punch can be really annoying.
Electrike- I needed a filler pokemon. Why not? He's got some random moves on him, and he isn't good.. but i like him.

Dusty (Eevee) (M) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Adaptability
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 40 Def / 40 SpD / 176 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Protect
- Return
- Body Slam
- Quick Attack
Eevee isn't my lead ever, because he's offensive and I normally start with defense. Eevee's job is to finish off whatever the rest of my team can't do. I think I should replace return with something, but help me cause I DONT KNOW.. I think it's a good idea to raise it's stab moves as much as possible, because he needs to sweep without much help.

Shell Shocker (Squirtle) (M) @ Focus Band
Ability: Torrent
Level: 5
EVs: 184 Def / 140 SpA / 184 SpD
Bold Nature
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Protect
- Scald
Squirtle here is my normal lead. He can put on some pretty easy toxic, because his defense is pretty high. I like to bug people with toxic and then alternating with an attack move and protect. Sometimes it works. But I like him to live as long as possible.

Suzie (Turtwig) (F) @ White Herb
Ability: Shell Armor
Level: 5
EVs: 228 Atk / 16 Def / 80 SpA / 184 SpD
- Curse
- Seed Bomb
- Body Slam
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
Turtwig might be my first or second choice to remove from the team. He doesn't do much. I usually just seed bomb the day away.

Dawn (Buneary) (F) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Limber
Level: 5
EVs: 196 Atk / 76 SpD / 236 Spe
Naive Nature
- Switcheroo
- Healing Wish
- Drain Punch
- Endeavor
Buneary, despite how this set up looks, is actually really helpful. And risky. Buneary's speed comes in handy because I need to switch the toxic orb ASAP. drain punch is really helpful, and using endeavor is one of my favorite moves and it helps whittle down HP on the opponent that I lost. Then drain punch to get it back.

GIECO (Treecko) (M) @ Berry Juice
Ability: Unburden
Level: 5
EVs: 188 Atk / 188 SpA / 132 Spe
Mild Nature
- Drain Punch
- Giga Drain
- Energy Ball
- Seed Bomb
This can be deadly, if he stays alive a few turns. Drain punch and giga drain help recover the large amounts of HP that I lose, while seed bomb and energy ball aren't as much used, but complete him. Drain punch also helps take down some weaknesses, like ice and rock.
Electric Blue (Electrike) (M) @ Cell Battery
Ability: Lightningrod
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 76 Atk / 176 SpA / 144 SpD / 112 Spe
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Electro Ball
- Snarl
- Iron Tail
I didn't think much while making him. I got some special atk and hoped for the best. If anyone at all can find a way to change him, please tell me!!!!! Snarl lowers sp. def. so it makes the job easier, but like turtwig, he doesn't do much but act as a filler.

There ya' go. Please rate this, I hope to finish a youtube series about them!!! Here is them in action-

There are a few things I want to say, but I kinda a beginner so take these with slightly more than a grain of salt.

First, I don't know much about Focus Band, but I do remember that it was pretty much an inferior focus sash. I think it prevented OHKO moves from landing but It is only a 10 percent of keeping the pokemon alive. however, don't run focus sash either, because the premier item for defensive pokemons are berry juice which basically restores all your health if u r below half hp, or eviolite, which increases your defenses by 150 percent.

You have 2 normal types on your team and no fighting check. Since your win condition seems to be eevee, I would switch buneary with spritzee. Spritzee can do what you want buneary to do. It can heal with wish and if you feel like it, aromatherapy. you can even have spritzee be a secondary toxic user as well.

Remember take these with a bit more than a grain of salt since I am a beginner and a better person will come along and help you. Good luck in your journey, keep learning and have fun!

Hi there Youngster Julia, quite an interesting team you have here! Unfortunately, your team seems to suffer from quite a few suboptimal mons / sets, and it's a bit tough to rate this since you lack in-depth descriptions. However, I'll do my best, but that may mean changing quite a bit.

Let's start with Eevee. Unfortunately, it happens to be severely outclassed by quite a bit. Since it appears to be your win condition, we can try out a Pokemon that fills a similar role. In Eevee's place, how about we try Zigzagoon? While it doesn't fill the exact same role, it is a normal type that sweeps late game and acts as a powerful Win Condition.

Again, Squirtle is outclassed by most other bulky waters. Luckily, there happens to be another turtle who can fulfill that role. Bulky Solid Rock Tirtouga seems like a great fit for your team, and even sets up Stealth Rocks to boot! The only thing Tirt doesn't have is Rapid Spin, but seeing as how you didn't have it on Squirtle, it shouldn't be too big of a change.

Since you now have two mons weak to Fighting Types now, let's replace Turtwig with Foongus. Arguably one of the better pivots in the LC meta, Foongus provides you with not only a solid check to fighters, but also Spore, which disrupts the opposing team and grants Ziggy set up opportunities.

I would like to second SilentMango's suggestion of replacing Buneary with Spritzee. Spritzee will provide you with the healing support you desire in Wish, and also acts as a second fighter check, and even packs Aromatherapy to support your team even further.

Replacing Treecko with Mienfoo seems like a great idea given your team and the changes. It's bulky, fast, and hits quite hard. It pivots really well with Foongus and my next suggestion, and packs Knock Off to help weaken enemy teams to allow Zigzagoon to clean up far easier.

Finally, let's swap Electrike with Elekid. Elekid hits 20 Base Speed, meaning it outspeeds the entires unboosted metagame, letting it run Life Orb to hit extra hard. It has excellent coverage, and also checks Fletch decently.

That's that! Sorry about changing so much, but I did try to choose mons that held similar roles, so that it is at least feels close to your original team. If you have any questions, feel free to VM/PM, or come hit up the Little Cup room on Pokemon Showdown!.

Also, I'll tag Corporal Levi and Yagura, since they are more experienced LC Raters than I am, and can probably give better advice :P.

Good Luck!

Hi, welcome to LC! To be honest I won't be giving a rate to this team because if I do so I'll be forced to change every team member and end up with a totally different team like HollowRidley's which is solid except that Zigzagoon without a Memento support is meh... The reason behind it is that every Pokémon in your team is either outclassed by another one or unviable.

Well, you seem to be really new to the meta so first of all I suggest taking a look at the Beginner's Guide which will give you some idea about LC. You can also check some LC resources like the Viability Rankings to know what is viable in the meta and Teambuilding Project which allows new players like you to know which roles viable Pokémon play like a hazards setter, physical attacker, physical wall.. and also the the Preliminary Pokedex to be able to get some viable sets for Pokémon that you want to run. And if you still have a problem you can either ask in this thread (no needs to be shy, the LC community is really welcoming and will always provide you with an answer), and if you still have a problem you can sign up in the Battling 101 to get an LC tutor (you'll find more about this in the B101 subforum).

Hollow ridley, I think I'll use those ideas except mienfoo because I see a lot of those and I like having surprising teams. I think elekid would be better, though. THANK YOU. *r.i.p electrike- didn't do good in LC battles*

though it IS really different.... I'll try it. maybe keep eevee. and treeko. And I might keep squirtle, depending on how this does. thanks. ;D

While I'm not going to rate the team because it would require a near complete swap of teammates, I'm going to suggest that as a new player you use done if those "overused" sets and Pokemon in order to get a feel for the game. While originality is often a quality of good LC players (unless you're user Fiend Hound c; ), you've got to bear in mind that you're going to want consistent sets over anything. I highly suggest that you take the suggestions of the other users, if at the very least to get sons experience. I'm certain that anyone in PokemonShowdown's LC room will be willing to help you too if you need help.
