Teambuilding, Creatively!

This article will be talking about how to build a team that is both effective and creative. The article will also talk about how to incorporate the pokemon who are not necessarily at the top of the tier, and using them effectively.

For example, it would talk about finding the niche for a pokemon on your team (eg:Choice scarfed revenge killing castform on a sun team (hey, it worked)), and how to build a team around that role.

It will appeal to those people (of all tiers) who just cant seem to get a team together that works (which can be all of us, at times).

And don't worry, it will not contain as many parentheses as this concept does.

To create a working team is a relatively easy task if you use Pokemon in the tier who are known to perform well against common threats. But to pick a Pokemon that already struggles against the top threats and make it a team cornerstone is something I'd expect from players who want to challenge themselves or discover new niches. Creative teambuilding is for more seasoned players, not players who's unsuccessful at teambuilding in general (odds are, them being 'creative' is why their teams don't work in the first place).

With that said, articles about teambuilding in general, and particularly articles about how to make use of underrated threats, are more or less reserved for veteran players who have a good understanding of the meta and how to build solid teams, as well as how to identify the strengths and weaknesses of underused Pokemon. And judging by your post history, you don't seem to be experienced enough to handle such a delicate topic.

Also...

Just because something worked doesn't necessarily means it works consistently. Even in the NU tier you'd need a speed stat over 80 to outrun the common scarfers, while Castform only has a speed of 70, so this example alone puts your credibility into question.

You have to think of it this way too. Can other people manage to succeed with that specific type of Castform set? I don't think they can (maybe a small grasp of skilled players, but otherwise no). If you had more proper examples such as maybe Lanturn in OU to check and counter a variety of threats (easier to include in teams due to its several niches and good utility), this would look a little better. Lanturn can actually be searched in the OU forums and will hit a few results in legit threads where some people are vouching for its effectiveness (and a mod there says it's outclassed but still does offer goodies), whereas Castform will only show up in the silly things you've seen thread.

I think if you visited and posted more in the metagame forums while sharing that you've tried these creative Pokemon on the ladder (and at a decently high ranking where people actually have proper teams that can work around these Pokemon), this would be ok. We don't know if you're suitable because of your lack of posts in those forums. Perhaps you can give another example that you've been using to good effect and explain why it's usable (you can put it in more detail and bullet points)? Castform just isn't selling us.

Otherwise, you could turn this into an Entertainment article and utilize Castform and friends, but this issue seems loaded with those already. If you're willing to change it to a silly, funny entertainment article instead, you could write that next issue.
