I chose to build this team after building many sand teams and got bored of making them so i decided to make a team based around one of my favourite pokemon of all time "Gyarados" which isn't the worst pokemon in the world managing to stay in the OU tier from RBY, I've laddered for some time with this team and have finally reached a stage where i don't know how else to improve my team and people now know the team and what to expect, this team got to 1326 on the alt "Koolbeans". anyways here's the team at a closer look

TehToad (Politoed)- Timid - Drizzle- @choice scarf
186.png

252 spd / 252 sp.att / 4 Def
-Ice beam
-Hydro pump
-Hidden power (grass)
-Surf

One of the most/the most important member of my team is politoed mainly cause of the team being based around gyarados i noticed that its best stab move is greatly helped by the rain, Choice scarf allows me to outspeed thundurus and do 72.24%-85.62% with ice beam, it also allows me to outspeed a +1 ddance dnite which can give this team alot of trouble especially if it's multi scale is still in play. I chose to run surf as mainly a filler but is useful against deoxys-s instead of risking hydro miss. Hidden power grass is there for the rotom-w's that aren't scarfed and gastrodons.

FckingBeastly (Gyarados) - Adamant - Moxie @Leftovers
252Atk / 252 spd / 4hp
130.gif

-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Bounce
-Substitute

The star of the team Gyarados one of my favourite pokes that i have ever used from RBY, as it's name states it is a beast and especially a rain boosted waterfall will do work on most pokemon in the metagame and if it can't bounce is there for the secondary go to move, i chose to put substitute on this set over earthquake/stone edge as dodging those annoying status moves like t-wave and WoW which will completely shut down gyarados, Bounce is used as it's secondary attacking move for the stab and to take care of venesaurs, toxicroaks and celebi which celebi is a big threat to my team, at +2 (which is not hard to achieve) this guy will completely trample on people that are not prepared for gyarados or have a reasonable stop to it, Gyara can also set up on walls such as burned ferrothorns, jellicents and Gastrodon. Also with moxie it carrys more and more power as it rips through teams like a snowball effect >:) which is why i love using this gyara so much

ImTooSwag (Jirachi) - Sassy -Serene grace @leftovers
252hp / 224sp.def / 32 speed
385.gif

-Wish
-Stealth rock
-Thunder
-Iron head

This guy is swag the ammount of times i've had a politoed switch into thunder expecting a body slam/iron head is unbelievable, i originally ran body slam over stealth rock but i learnt from one match when a dnite kept switching into my team and wrecking everything so i started running stealth rock which also helps with threats such as volcarona and thundurus aswell as dragonite This is also one of my main stops to celebi which seems a big threat to this team if it's used correctly. Iron heads there for ParaFlinch cause rachi's pro like that >:), Wish is an extremely useful move as i can use it to help me win weather wars by passing them to politoed or usually just for healing jirachi which is my second go to pokemon against a thundurus. This is part of my core which is Gliscor,Jirachi and Gastro as they all cover each others weakness's and work well together on this team gliscor helps me scout for choiced users with protect and if any of the core get low on health i try and pass a wish from jirachi >:)

RickyHatton (Conkeldurr)- Adamant - Guts @ leftovers
252hp / 120Atk / 136 Sp.def
534.gif

-Bulk up
-Drain punch
-Payback
-Mach punch
Conkeldurr is an utter monster if used correctly it can check Excadrill and terrakion if there at low enough hp, this is also a check to Ferrothorn, celebi without psychic and can do damage to latios/latias if i predict right, the only problem i have with conkeldurr is if they have a dnite that can set up on its face. Conkeldurr can also set up on walls such as jellicent and gastrodon if it already has a status that isn't poison. Conkeldurr is the stable of my team, if i didn't have conkeldurr steel types and tyranitar could give me a few problems. The 136 sp.def evs are there for survivabiliity purposes aswell as the 252 hp evs.

Like-A-G6 (Gliscor) - Impish - Toxic heal @ Toxic orb
252hp / 176 def / 80 spd
472.gif

-Earthquake
-Swords dance
-Ice fang
-Protect
Gliscor is a real help to this team stopping threats such as excadrill ,terrakion, conkeldurr, drain punch toxicroaks and scizor which are all common threats in todays metagame, it also provides a relative stop to haxorus id it's at high enough hp. I chose to put 80 speed evs on Gliscor to out speed other gliscors, Protect is for scouting, sd is for late game sweeping if it's needed and ice fang is for hitting switch ins such as thundurus, latios, tornadus and Landorus.

StickyBeans (Gastrodon) - Sassy - Storm drain @ leftovers
252hp / 252sp.def / 4 sp.att
423_e.gif

-Earthquake
-Scald
-Toxic
-Recover
Gastrodon is another extremely useful member on this team stopping threats such as rotom and thundurus which in the currrent metagame are extremely common, I chose to use earthquake through the suggestion of Squirrel after going up against a calm mind jirachi which even though mostly walled by gastrodon, gastro couldn't stop it from setting up and even touch it, scald is for stab + chance of burn, toxic is used to cause residual damage to pokes such as politoed and tyranitar.

Hey VERAKS :D You might wanna mention on the synergy between each pokemon with other mons on the team, as it give people a better idea of what you wanna do with the team :D

Hey there Veraks.

First off, a minor note. Take out the speed EVs on Jirachi and put them in special defense. Speed EVs are only useful if you are running a Careful nature; Sassy defeats the purpose of using them.

Alright, now, there are a couple of common threats hat can sweep your team:
SD Toxicroak, Sub + 3 Attack Landorus, and DD Gyarados.

In order to fix most of these weaknesses, replace Gliscor with a Slowbro. Not only can Slowbro defeat all of the aforementioned threats other than stall, but it can be a safe switch in to CB Terrakion thanks to Regenerator, and can also devastate DD Dragonite with Aqua Tail who otherwise causes your team major problems. It also defeats everything that Gliscor, and can hit harder due to rain.

Defensive Slowbro
Slowbro @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Relaxed Nature
-Ice beam
-Psychic
-Slack Off
-Scald

Ice Beam lets Slowbro destroy Dragonite, and deal a good amount of damage to switch-ins such as Latios. Psychic lets Slowbro devastate the likes of Toxicroak and Conkeldurr. A Relaxed Nature is chosen in order to be slower than Brave Conkeldurr, who can otherwise deal major damage to Slowbro with Payback.

Finally, run Perish Song over Surf on Politoed. Perish Song allows Politoed to save your team from potentially getting swept by any dangerous threats that you may have allowed to set up; it also can devastate baton pass chains.

Overall, really nice team. Hope I helped, and good luck!

Hi, I'd like to second some of Shakeitup's suggestions. Swap Jirachi's EVs to 252 Hp/ 252 SpD/ 4 Def since Jirachi is no longer capable of outspeeding max investment Tyranitar. Most Tyranitar nowadays either run Sassy or Scarf anyways, so this speed tier is not that significant. I also second Perish Song over Surf since Baton Pass chains are absolutely crazy atm.

Having Conkeldurr and Gliscor on the same team is rather redundant. As you've already mentioned. Dragonite with Earthquake can cause your team some serious problems. Conkeldurr seems to have the least synergy with the rest of the team, not bringing many useful resistances to the table. I suggest using a Choice Scarf Terrakion to help with these problems. Terrakion still provides the fighting type presence that Conkeldurr provided. However, it can also revenge kill DD Dragonite, DD Salamence, DD Gyarados, SD Lucario, Volcorona, and other dangerous set up sweepers. With the offensive nature of your pokemon, you are sure to punch some massive holes into your opponent's defense and Terrakion can exploit this with a late game Close Combat sweep.

Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Justified
Jolly
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 Hp
Close Combat
Stone Edge
X-Scissor
Rock Slide (over Sacred Sword because sometimes you really need something dead and don't want to deal with Stone Miss)

I'm going to disagree with NWO's suggestion about switching Conkeldurr to Terrakion. Terrakion really doesn't solve the Mynisicroak weakness you have, and further compounds it actually, as Toxicroak actually resists both Terrakions stabs and murders it with Cross Chop. Replacing Gliscor with Slowbro is a really good suggestion, and I recommend it highly. However, I could see a couple of other things working out for you. First one being a Choice Band Dragonite, something that is becoming increasingly more common this generation. Extremespeed strong at the end of the game. The next one I had was Choice Specs Tornadus. Same deal here, dat Hurricane. You should test them out sometime. You might be surprised. See you on the interwebs, Broseph Stalin. GLB.

@shakeitup thanks for the rate :), im going to but slowbro into testing and see how it fairs :)

@new world order thanks for the rate ill try out terrakion over conkeldurr for the time being i was just cautious cause of dual scarfs and the ammount of switching i would have to do as this team is quite weak to hazards

@howard thanks for the rate howard i'll try out the cb dnite and specs tornadus to see if they fit on this team

Swords Dance Ice Punch Toxicroak absolutely slaughters you once it grabs a boost against Conkeldurr, who can't touch it at all. Conk is actually the most redundant member of the team; you've already got a physical sweeper in Gyarados, and a check to Excadrill / Terrakion with Gliscor. I'd try using a standard Tornadus in Conk's place, but with Substitute in the last slot, as opposed to the analysis's recommendation of Taunt / U-turn. After you switch in on Croak's SD, you can Sub to dodge Sucker Punch and then KO with Hurricane on the next turn; since most Tornadus are Specs, your opponent will likely not anticipate the trick.

Also, shift 8 EVs from Gliscor's HP into its speed. This will give you maximum Poison Heal recovery [extremely effective with Protect] and the ability to outrun pretty much all other Gliscor.

i've now changed conkeldurr to terrakion which has brought me up to 1400 on the ladder, also @BKC if i changed conk/terrakion to tornadus ferrothorn would be an annoying poke to deal with

Great team VERAKS, I've been testing moxie gyarados on alot of different teams and he often nets me sweeps on scizors locked into BP or when I set up on other walls also. GL with this team not much i can suggest looks really solid.

Do you guys know what is the best Mynism's Toxicroak counter in existence? Gyarados. I don't see how he's getting slaughtered at all by it.

He also included Slowbro and Choice Terrakion into the team, so Toxicroak shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Congrats to your new-found success, VERAKS.

PS - offensive Gyarados actually gets beaten by Toxicroak, especially Moxie Gyara. +2 Ice Punch does 74% min.

i got rid of slowbro as it wasnt as usefull as gliscor in my oppinion anyways :) but thanks for all the rates they were of a great help

grass types will wreck you completely... giga drain will destroy everything bar jirachi and grass types might carry earth power or something... earthquake venusaur.

@regirock, grass types wont wreck me a +2 earth power off of celebi wont kill rachi also gyara out speeds and can bounce or if i predict i can set up a sub on the switch, with this team im at 1424 on the ladder thanks for all the rates :D

FAIL. I thought it was an intimidate Gyara (I never use Moxie). But yeah, and easy fix for the Toxicroak problem is to slap Earthquake onto Terrakion instead of Rock Slide.
