First off i would like you guys for taking your time reading this RMT.This is my first shot at RU and i loved it!I was never fond of durant until i created this team by throwing in pokemon i felt would help sceptile and typhlosion.
As i mentioned this team is around sceptile and typhlosion but i don't think i have done a great job at building the team with the right Pokemon and this is why i posted it on this Forum for you guys to help me fix this team.
And so i present to you my first ever RU team i have made.
So lets start things of cool.
Slowking @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 144 Def / 116 SDef
Calm Nature
- Slack Off
- Scald
- Toxic
- Fire Blast
Slowking was the third pokemon i chose to complete the Fire-Water-Grass core which i love using.Slowking has an amazing ability in the form of regenerator which is one of the best abilities the game has to offer to walls.
Item: What better item is there to keep on a wall then leftovers?
EV Spread: Standard EV spread.This spread allows slowking to take both resisted physical hits and neutral special hits all day and efficiently wall many threats.Calm nature was chosen to increase it's special defensive without lowering any important stat.
Move Set: Slack off is a nice way to regain health while remaining on the field.Scald over surf because of the 30% chance to burn.Toxic is for bulky pokemon that i need to wear down.Fireblast is for grass and steels.
Accelgor @ Life Orb
Trait: Sticky Hold
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Spikes
- Bug Buzz
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Rock]
Accelgor has been one of my favourite pokemon since the release of Black/White.It is the fastest Pokemon in RU excluding scarfers.I often lead with it even though it is not my stealth rocker or momentum grabber but just because it can set spikes and also deal out huge amounts of damage to leads like uxie that fall to 2 bug buzzes if specially defensive.
Item: Life Orb is almost mandatory for the power as accelgor does not pack a punch without it.It also helps me get some KO-es that i would miss without it.
EV Spread: Max speed allows it to be the fastest non-scarfer in the Tier(Ninjask is NU but rarely seen in RU).Max SAtk to hit as hard as possible.Timid nature contributes to being able to outspeed all non-scarfers.
Move Set: Bug Buzz is Stab and hits pretty hard.Focus blast is for coverage.Spikes is for entry hazards that i need to slowly wear down my opponents pokemon.Hidden power rock is for extra coverage on fire types, flying types and other bugs.
Sandslash @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Stone Edge
Sandslash was the last member and only reason is for Rapid spin and Stealth rocks both of which i rarely get up.Sandslash is the poke that i might need to change just because it just doesn't show me that it is actually worthy of being on this team.My physical wall and support pokemon.
Item:Leftover for some sort of recovery.
EV Spread: To maximize defensive capabilities.Impish nature for same reason.
Move Set: Earthquake is for stab and do some kind of damage.
Stone Edge completes the Edge Quake combo.
Rapid spin is to get rid of entry hazards that my team hates.
Stealth because it's the best move in the game.
Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Eruption
- Fire Blast
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]
This team needed a scarfer and so i made my second chosen pokemon scarfed.This thing does WORK!
Item: Choice scarf makes this thing an absolute beast at revenge killing.
EV Spead : Maximise damage output and speed to perform the art of revenge killing without fail.
Nature makes the damage output a lot more.
Move Set: Eruption hit anything hard that does not resist it and not as long as typhlosion is not at low Health.
Fireblast is incase my typhosion is at low health.Focus blast is for coverage and Hidden power[Grass] is for those water and ground types.
Sceptile @ Flying Gem
Trait: Unburden
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Leaf Blade
- Drain Punch
Sceptile such a wonderful pokemon.The ability to run a special and physical set makes opponents make the wrong move more than half of the time.
This physical sceptile is amazing!
Item: Flying gem lets me activate unburden in a single turn via acrobatics making my sceptile have a +2 speed as soon as i use it.
EV Spread : This is to maximize Attack and maintain speed and increase bulk to take few hits.
Move Set: Sword dance allows my sceptile to reach sky high attack allowing me to sweep.Acrobatic lets me get my speed to +2 allowing me to out speed most pokemon.Leaf blade is stab and hits anything that does not resist it.Blac2/White2 move tutors gave sceptile the ability to run drain punch with unburden this allows me to hit sap sippers that could take any of the other hits.One thing i must say about sceptile is it can OHKO Tangrowth with Flying Gem acrobatics after a Sword Dance.
Durant @ Life Orb
Trait: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Hone Claws
- Iron Head
- X-Scissor
- Stone Edge
Durant is the MVP of this team.Although it was just a filler like sandslash it worked extreamely well.Probably because my typhosion has and awesome offensive synergy with it.Typhosion usually cleans most steels and entry hazards deal with fire type that pose as a threat.Durant can often pull of a sweep with ease.
Item: Life Orb allows my durant to score kills even through Screens which many pokemon can not do.Hone claws allows durants already high attack with hustle so sky rocket.It also gets rid of the accuracy drop due to hustle.
Move Set: Iron head is stab and always handy for the flinch.X-Scissor is stab and allows me hit grass and water types hard.Stone edge allows me to hit fire types.
