The Army of Steves: OU RMT

Hi, guys. I'm new here, and I've got a team that needs rating (themed after Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series no less). The lack of creativity perfectly fits the theme of Marik's Steves. So, RMT! (It accidentally posted. If you see this before it's finished, ignore it until it is.)

A Lead that Rocks the World
gliscor.png

Gliscor @ Lum Berry "Steve"
Jolly 252 HP/216 Atk/40 Spd (Sand Veil)
- Earthquake
- U-Turn
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock

Ah, Gliscor, the first of my army of Steves. It's pretty standard, and this is the first time I've used it. It works well, but those all-too-common Pert leads drag me down. I used Lefties before, but I had too much issue with Roserade and Smeargle, so I changed it. You all know what this lead does: gets rocks onto the field, scouts, and checks Luke later.

Bog Standard (April Fools!)
scizor.png

Scizor @ Choice Scarf "Odion"
Jolly 60 HP/252 Atk/192 Spd (Swarm)
- U-Turn
- Superpower
- Iron Head
- Night Slash

This guy isn't just any Steve. He is more epic than ALL Steves. He is... Odion. Anyhow, this thing is an awe-inspiring check for Lati. If you don't have anything that can sponge Lati until LO, SS, and/or SR wear it down for Scizor, Mamo, Tar, etc. to take it down, SOMETHING is getting crippled/killed by Latias. Not anymore with Scarf Scizor. A U-Turn from this thing scores a clean OHKO on 126/0 Timid Latias, not to mention beating the crap out of things that don't expect it (which is... um... everything). Should Lati decide to switch out (unlikely, with the threat of Pursuit), he can just U-Turn straight out of there to an appropriate counter and play around Lati with moves that put serious dents in it. The rest of his moveset offers some great coverage, too. EV's allow him to outspeed all +nature base 110's by 2 points, pour as much into Atk as I can, and put the rest in HP for some added bulk.

You Don't Stand a Ghost of a Chance!
gengar.png

Gengar @ Life Orb "Steve"
Timid 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spd (Levitate)
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Ice/Fire 70
- Energy Ball
- Thunderbolt

My next Steve offers so much coverage (not to mention an abused pun) that it's not even funny. HP Fire checks Scizor and Weavile switch-ins that would LOVE to Pursuit or Bullet Punch him. HP Ice will be the better option if I go Scarfed, seeing as I'll be able to revenge kill Mence (who otherwise poses a nasty threat to this team). Shadow Ball is for obvious STAB. Energy Ball is to stop Pert from messing with me, as he drives me nuts so often it's not even funny. It'll also be great for dealing with Recover Quagsire, which I suspect will be seeing a lot of use soon. The best of Gastrodon and Pert... where can you go wrong there? Anyhow, back to reality, Thunderbolt offers some obvious coverage *coughGyaracough*. I used to run Life Orb on this set, but Choice Scarf proved to be the better choice. Accordingly, I run HP Ice now.

I'm a Crofessional.
suicune.png

Suicune @ Leftovers "Steve"
Bold 252 HP/252 Def/4 Spd (Pressure)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Calm Mind
- Surf

You guessed it: Crocune. This thing is a beast, and checks weaker offensive threats awesomely. You can also do a fair bit of team scouting by switching this into a predicted Bullet Punch, etc. and switching immediately back out. Of course, the real goal of this set is to wall everything that moves to hell and back while it sets up to tear through your enemy's team. There's really no need to explain this thing. Moving on...

Sovereign Lord of the Ocean
kingdra.png

Kingdra @ Life Orb "Steve"
Modest 26 HP/252 SAtk/232 Spd (Swift Swim)
- Rain Dance
- Dragon Puse
- Surf
- Signal Beam/Hidden Power Electric 70

Special Kingdra, oh yeah. This thing is just great. Switch into a Fire move, Rain Dance, and unleash some hurt. Most people won't switch Bliss into Kingdra fearing a STAB +1 Waterfall/Outrage to the face, so you can generally crap on whatever switches in. The moveset is for coverage. Signal Beam seems kinda pointless on this set, but Celebi would like to say "Hi!". Again, not much need to explain what STAB is doing on this set. HP Electric is a debatable option, stopping Gyara. But, really, I have Gengar to stop that.

The Final Steve[size]
lucario.png

Lucario @ Life Orb "Steve"
Adamant 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd (Inner Focus)
- Swords Dance
- Extremespeed
- Close Combat
- Crunch

The last Steve. There's a reason he's on the back of every RMT I've seen him in: He was built for endgame. Lucario is a deadly force to be reckoned with. Packing a solid base 110 Atk, decent Spd, the best priority move in the game (before STAB and Technician, if applicable), and access to Swords Dance, it's no wonder that this thing sweeps the endgame like nobody's business. Swords Dance and ESpeed have already been covered. CC for STAB and slower Steels, and Crunch to put dents in that pesky Cresselia. Adamant over Jolly because I already have another two Luke checks and I have no need to outrun Adamant Gliscor, seeing as I don't carry Ice Punch.

All right guys, that's it for my RMT. The problem I see with the team is that Gliscor isn't able to do much for the rest of the team after he gets up rocks. He can help scout, but... that's about it. The only important thing that he can do (as far as I know) after the lead-off is stop a Bullet Punch SD Luke. Really, though, that's it. RMT guys, and those of you who watch YGOTAS, if you have a better name scheme (ex. the named Steves, I can't think of enough to do that), let me know. Double Scarves for the win!

Double post because the edit button is lagging FAR too hard for me to get an edit in. I'd like you guys to rate this team as if Deo-D, HG/SS movesets, Rotom Formes, and Latias were all unusable by me and all existing threats. Thankies! This is because I'll use this team here, there, and everywhere, and some places don't allow Lati, some allow HG/SS moves, one's testing Deo-D in OU, etc.

I'm not quite sure why you're running Choice Scarf scizor, as the CB version works just as well (if not better). Heres the set:

Scizor @Choice Band
Technician
Adamant Nature
248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
~ U-turn
~ Bullet Punch
~ Superpower
~ Pursuit / Quick Attack

Traps Latias much better. And you need Bullet Punch, you cant just waste that excellent ability Technician.

gl with the team

This looks like a pretty good team.

This team may have some trouble with Lucario as Suicune can't OHKO with Surf, and if it has Ice Punch Gliscor can't even counter. Since you have only 1 real attack, I don't see the need for all the fire power on Gliscor. For this reason I suggest using the EV spread of 252 HP / 36 Atk / 220 Speed. This allows you to outspeed enemy Roserade to, to Taunt them before they Sleep powder, eliminating need for Lum Berry.

Although it will make your team more 'standard' I feel it will also improve its performance, this would be using Choice Band Scizor instead of Choice Scarf Scizor.

Scizor @ Choice Band
EVs: 248 HP / 248 Atk / 12 Speed
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Technician
~ U-turn
~ Bullet Punch
~ Pursuit
~ Superpower

This Scizor gives you a better check against Latias and Gengar due to its better defenses and Pursuit especially.

Next, I highly suggest using Focus Blast on Gengar. This will let you OHKO Heatran and Tyranitar who would otherwise wally completely. So your moveset should be Shadow Ball / Focus Blast / Thunderbolt or Energy Ball / Explosion. Give Gengar a Hasty nature to boost Explosion and 8 Atk EVs, and you've got something to lure and kill Blissey. This will help Suicune and Kingdra very very much as both are walled by Blissey. I would also suggest keeping Gengar as a Choice Scarfer, to help against Gyarados and other Dragon Dancers. Another option would be to use Choice Scarf Latias, who pairs well with Suicune and can counter many Special Attackers.

Latias @ Choice Scarf
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
~ Draco Meteor
~ Surf
~ Thunderbolt
~ Trick

Latias will also help revenge kill any enemy Kingdra trying to take advantage of your Rain. Don't ever forget Trick, as you can cripple Blissey which will also help Suicune / Kingdra. May not be bad to use it on the switch if you suspect your foe to be running a stall team.

Overall, this team doesn't seem to have any glaring weaknesses, although you may have trouble switching into Zapdos and Rotom-H, but Gliscor should work decently and U-turn to something that deal actual damage. Replacing Gengar with Latias will help against these Pokemon a lot though. Although Latias is still 'Pursuit' bait, and can't really kill Tyranitar, this can actually help you set up a Lucario sweep as Lucario is x4 resist to Pursuit.

lol the series is awesome

first of all, gliscor, id recommend swapping the speed and attack EVs. gliscor isnt going to be attacking much at all, and you will want the ability to outrun timid roserade and jolly lucario. not to mention flying types resist both your attacks.

ive used scarf scizor before, and its great, and really needs a team that can go around it. U-turn lacks the power to outright KO latias, only managing i think 75%, just warning you. Also if you want to keep the scarf version over the band version, put 4 more EVs into speed, so you sit at 353 (or 354 i think it was 354) and you can outrun bulky starmie that sit at 352. Also, i would recommend putting bullet punch over something, probably over night slash. night slash isnt doing much, u-turn hits latias and iron head hits gengar, u-turn out of the rotom formes (which you say you cant use o.O). as of now your team lacks a way to revenge kill DDmence other than scarfgar, which i assume will be used early to check DDgyara and stuff like that, and is easy pursuit bait. while BP is only a 2HKO after SR and 1 LO recoil, its still enough to suffice.
scarf is pretty gimmicky, but it works ive tried it. revenge kills lucario if you havnt ruined the surprise already, and weakened infernape =p.

i agree with metanite, put focus blast over energy ball. swampert isnt going to switch into a 40% shadow ball any time soon, and pert has no form of recovery so its not much to worry about. you would also have to predict the switch, which is not happening. it nails ttar and scizor better than your other moves, but watch the accuracy.

Alrighty, thanks for your rates. First off, I DO have the 216 in Spd. That's a typo, and I'm running 216 Spd 40 Atk. However, it doesn't 2HKO lead Gross like I thought the spread did. Isn't tha 96 Atk or something? I probably SHOULD have CB Scizor, I'm switching that out. Apparently, my calcs were wrong, and I keep U-Turning out of Latis for ~87%, which just isn't enough for me. Also, let me explain: I want this team to be used in loads of different environments, so I put those specs there to accomodate them all. However, I see your point. I'm going to use ScarfLati over ScarfGar, as that'll be a HUGE help. However, I won't Trick that Scarf away so easily. I have nothing that can really stop an Outraging Mence, seeing as I'm running a Crocune (obv. no Ice Beam). In the environment that Lati is illegal, I'm using you guys' suggestions for ScarfGar. I was also thinking of running a DDMence over Kingdra, as it would help out my coverage a fair bit (only 1 EQ=bad news, man). This DOES cause me to have less reliable resistances, which is why I hesitate to take a go at it. Can I get some advice on that idea? Also, I can't edit the main post for some reason, so assume I put in the changes. Thanks again, I REALLY appreciate it.
