Hello everyone who is reading this. It's the dead mans odyssey speaking to you with a pre recorded message before I died and became a cartoon avatar.
Any way, I am just going to say this.
This is my first crack at (you guessed it! Didn't you?) a sun team.
Anyway, background info!

And with that, you see my team in depth, as it is, like it should be.

This is my first crack at (you guessed it! Didn't you?) a sun team.
Anyway, background info!
Before I joined smogon, I had no idea about competitive play. Sure, I stumbled across serebii first, but I just thought it was just some lonely 34 yr old virgin making updates to his/her website because he/she had no life. But then I came across smogon.
Smogon, to me, was like a world, just for my taste. Just for me. Then I realised, it was a community. When I realised this I also stumbled upon the analysis thread. When I saw my first analysis, one question stumped me. WTF is an EV?
I went back to serebii after that because they had an easy to find EV training guide which explained everything to me.
After that, I joined smogon.
After making my first friend on this place, Darkaxis (was once known as Cheetos trainer and Zambos king), I became almost obssesed with smogon. A new world was opened up to me. I was completely fascinated by every little scrap of this place. The community, the competitiveness, the social groups, and of course, the RMT's.
I then set out to make my first competitive team. It was an utter failiure. It was being sweeping by Chansey. Then a bout 1 month ago (after extensive playtesting with different styles like rain, gravity, trick room) I came across something that has been missing from my home for a while now. SUN. And that's where I'm at now. So you know the drill. Rate, help, do what is needed.

ninetales
Ninetales, sawsbuck
Now, what is a sun team without the inducer? It's just a little dry spell until a certain frog gets in on the action. Now I needed something to compliment nintales offensively, so I chose sawsbuck. It is resistant to most of ninetails weaknesses, and can hit back hard and fast under chlorophyll.
Ninetales, sawsbuck, volcarona
I was reading through the OU sun guide and it said that volcarona was the best fire type abuser of sun out there. Naturally, it was on the team. For a short time...
Ninetales, sawsbuck, volcarona, venusaur
Now, I needed a bulky sweeper for the team. Venusaur fit that bill perfectly. At least that's what it's stats say...
Ninetales, sawsbuck, volcarona, venusaur, espeon
Now what I noticed on my team was my main weather inducer and my main sweeper to be we're weak to rocks. And in case of a weather war, I just couldn't have that. So I added espeon because of the praise it's been getting from everyone. But I just didn't know at the time that it's ability doesn't send rocks away upon entry. What a waste.
Ninetales, sawsbuck, volcarona, venusaur, espeon, dugtrio
Now, I realised a while ago that most teams will take heavy damage from rock in the long run so I needed something to set them up. Also, I needed a revenge killer, because I couldn't see anything under trap, kill, set up rocks, and reversal anywhere else, I chose dugtrio.
Ninetales, sawsbuck, volcarona, espeon, dugtrio, haxorus
Venusaur wasnt working out too well. People were smart enough to switch in a heatran high on balloons so much do that I couldn't cope with the losses. So I switched to haxorus. It had a great atk stat that was perfect. For a while.
After I tested this out with proffers or science, he suggested to give me tips on team building. And so he did.
Ninetales, sawsbuck, espeon, dugtrio, haxorus, heatran
Professor science suggested I change volcarona to heatran because it could do something volcarona couldn't. Set up rocks. I did take the pointless advice and it didn't work. It just didn't cut it. I already had someone with rocks to abuse, so he is now axed.
Ninetales, sawsbuck, dugtrio, haxorus, espeon, starmie
Now I needed a spinner. Proffesor science knew that. So a added starmie. I messed around with starmie and I learned about what was needed to help me win. Paralysis. Because of starmies access to t-wave, I could now sweep inset ire teams almost effortlessly after Dnite or terrakion was paralysed.
Ninetales, sawsbuck, dugtrio, haxorus, starmie, infernape
Proffers or science suggested something that was needed badly. A mixed sweeper. Espeon was pretty bad to begin with, so it had to go. I tried infernape. It's great utility in offensive sweeping was a godsend, but his ability real gated me to DW OU. So his greatest advantage in the game (Mach punch with iron fist), had to be nullified.
Ninetales, sawsbuck, dugtrio, starmie, infernape, tangrowth
What was plaguing me the most about this team was its counters. Almost every poke on my team was weak to virizion, terrakion, gliscor, or skarmory, or even the odd defensive Dnite. So I needed something to tank this hits. Something that gains an advantage in the sun, but can abuse an opponents loss to a perfect degree. I chose tangrowth for this reason.
Tangrowth, once sun was up, was a real beast. If I could paralyse any of the obove mentioned counters to my team, it was over for the opponent. This Pokemon single handedly turned the tables from weather wars, to a fun, dry, day at the beach.

Ninetales @ leftovers
Timid
Moves: sunny day
Calm mind
Solar beam
Flame thrower
Ability: drought
EVs: 4 def/ 252 spA/ 252 spE
Synergy-ground: starmie, sawsbuck, tangrowth
-Rock: dugtrio
-Water: starmie, sawsbuck, tangrowth (depends on if the opponent uses special or physical attacks)
Explanation: you know the drill. Set up sun and then some. But I chose to use the sunny day set because in all seriousness, if you chose to lead with this, and the opponent has a politoed, do you really want to take a rain boosted scald? No. Of Cousteau not. Calm mind is great for boosting because it's just a great troll ability. I can normally get up to +3 before I have to attack, so spA is generally pretty high.
Calcs: sun boosted Calcs-
Gliscor
Ferrothorn
Politoed
Skarmory
Nidoking
Dragonitt
Terrakion
Verizion
Opposing nintales
Skarmory
Rueniculusbat +4 spA and SpD
Rotom W
TYranitar.
Rain nerfed clacs-
Same pokes as above.
Sandstorm Calcs-
Normal weather Calcs.
Sawsbuck @ focus sash
Jolly
Moves: sword dance
Horn leech
Mega horn
Jump kick
Ability: chlorophyll
EVs: 252 atk/ 4 def/ 252 spE
Synergy: fighting: starmie
Fire: starmie, dugtrio, infernape, nintales
Flying: none. Like it matters that much.
Poison: starmie.
Bug: ninetales, infernape
