I've devised a team that should take advantage/negate the problems that the battle pyramid in emerald version's battle frontier (for the ones who were confused) can throw at you and your pokemon. The things that are famous for killing people when you're "almost there" are the masses of wild pokemon who all carry moves which cause status effects, usually poison or paralyze your pokemon. That will probably cost a match with a trainer on higher floors. My team will cover most of the weaknesses of this place. Observe:
Dodrio
Adamant/Jolly nature @ runaway
252 atc / 252 spe / 4 hp

Drill Peck

The main point of this dodrio is to run away from any wild pokemon, who might cause status problems. Runaway allows dodrio to do this without the common "can't escape" coming up. Drill Peck and Return for basic STAB moves and to take out most of the crowd, and Hidden Power Ground for pokemon resistant to those, like steel types, electric types, etc. Dodrio also acts as a good physical sweeper, to prevent any damage from coming the team's way.
Blissey
Bold nature @ natural cure

Aromatherapy
Softboiled

The main point of blissey is to be able to stand up to a lot of pain and be able to strike back quick, and hard. Seismic toss for basic damage, Aromatherapy to heal teammates of status effects (HUGE thing here), Softboiled to heal its hp, and light screen for support in a VERY big battle, like the pyramid king.(barrier works too) This is my tank of the team.
Houndoom
modest / timid nature @ early bird
68 hp / 252 spa / 188 spe
Moveset:
Flamethrower
Crunch
Rest
Will-o-wisp
Pretty much, this is my special sweeper. It's used to take care of any weaknesses encountered in my team and it can do a great amount of damage. Early bird should make Houndoom wake up early, preventing extreme damage.
