The Benders

The Benders
This team uses hazards to my advantage, keeping the hazards off my side, and filling the opponents side with with as much as I can. The team has been doing well, but has lacked a great peak.

King Ozai (Accelgor) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Sticky Hold
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Spikes
- Bug Buzz
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Accelgor is a nice pokemon for setting up spikes. In my opinion one of the best. The 252 SAtk and modest nature is so that Scizor CB scizor is OHKOed.
Giga Drain is for handling Rotom-W, and Bug Buzz for a nice STAB attack. I usually lead with him, setting up at least 2 layers of spikes most of the time.Any move that would be nice coverage instead of giga drain would be great.

Katara (Tentacruel) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
My second spiker, but for toxic spikes instead. Toxic spikes are important for most battles, as they allow my gliscor to start his protect substitute stalling for a long time, without having to toxic the opponent. Scald is for a burn on some physical attackers, such as Tyranitar or Scizor. Ice Beam is for gliscor, dragonite, landorous, and salamnce. In my last slot, I was trying to decide between rapid spin and protect, and I opted for rapid spin after some testing, as hazards screw my team too.

Zuko (Heatran) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Roar
- Fire Blast
Heatran, what an amazing typing you have. His bulk and typing allow me to wall many special threats. Unfortunately he is cursed with a 4x weakness to Ground-type attacks. The point of this set is mainly to set up stealth rocks, and phaze. Fire Blast and Hidden Power Ice is for coverage, allowing Heatran to take out threats to my team such as Scizor and Dragonite. The 252 HP Evs is for bulk, while the 252 Spd EVs is too outspeed jolly Scizor.

Momo (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Protect
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Earthquake
I was opted to use this set when I saw it in a RMT. So I've decided to try it, and it works wonders. With the speed to out pace approximately half of the metagame, he can toxic stall them infinitely, only being taken down by non-toxiced pokemon and pokemon with attacks that hit multiple times. The set is easy to pull of. First you toxic the opponent, then alternate between substitute and protect. If you can finish the pokemon off with EQ, then do so.

Avatar (Mew) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 76 HP / 180 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Aura Sphere
- Roost
- Nasty Plot
- Psychic
Mew is such a versatile pokemon. With the 2nd largest movepool in the game he can run many sets. I need a nice Set-up special sweeper, so I can set up on rapid spinners. Since the opponent thinks that I have no spin blockers, they try to spin as soon as they can. This set makes most spinners(not starmie) regret that decision. When they spin I set up a nastly plot and sweep away, sometimes setting up more than one according to the match up. Aura Sphere and Psychic allow for almost perfect coverage, except for against Sableye, Spiritomb, and Psychic-types. Roost helps the longevity of my sweep, and allows me to come in against a pokemon I have a complete advantage on, and roost up to full health. Lum Berry allows me to stay status free, and also inflicts the status on the opponent.

Toph (Durant) (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Hustle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Iron Head
- X-Scissor
- Dig
- Rock Slide
Last but not least, Durant. With a great ability in hustle, and an odd base speed of 109, Durant becomes an excellent revenge killer. With a scarf, he takes care of any psychic-types that mew can't handle. 252 Spd EVs and a jolly nature allow him to outspeed scarfed terrakion, a menace to my team. 252 Atk so he can get the most power out of his attacks with a jolly nature. His attacks allow him to have great coverage, but unfortunately his only good ground physical move is dig, so that is kind of a shame.

That's the team. Criticism is recommended as this team needs work. This is one of my more successful teams, and I wanted some feedback.

This is a good team. I don't really see any flaws. BTW, using Accelgor and Durant automatically makes you a badass. :)

I second this. ^_^ That being said, I have a suggestion for Durant. Lose Dig, its much too easy to avoid with careful switching. I would try Thunder Wave instead. Although it may seem odd on a scarfed poke, Thunder Wave will royally screw over any speedy sweeper, giving your team an easier time with said sweeper.

A couple of other mentions. You're right about hazards messing with your team, so Tentacruel should definitly keep Rapid Spin. Also, you mention that Accelgor would want a replacement for Giga Drain. However, I find that Giga Drain is a decent move to be using because of its side effect. If you're serious anout switching it, you may want to try U Turn in its place, giving you some switches to scout the opponent.

I suggest Crunch on Durant to replace Dig. Running Calm on Heatran is useless with no EV investment. Instead, run enough speed EVs to outspeed CB Scizor, as 80% of Scizor's will be that. Dump the rest in SpD. Also, run Lava Plume because your Heatan is a defensive variant. GL

I'll try both replacements for dig, and see which one I like better. Lately, people that set-up usually can stay in and wreak havoc since I have no phazer. Any ideas?
