Keldeo Life Orb
ability: justified
nature: timid
EVs: 252 SpA/ 252 Spe / 4 Def
-scald
-hydro pump
-secret sword
-icy wind
This is the main attraction, and who i decided to build this team around. mainly because it just checks so many threats. It has great speed and alot of power. most of the time i use him as a late game cleaner, but it can function as a decent mid game wall breaker, by spaming scald doing alot of damage to anything that doesn't resist it as well as spreading burns. i have icy wind to hit garchomp for super effective damage. it also has great utility by lowering my opponents speed.
Tyranitar @ choice scarf
ability: sand stream
nature: jolly
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 Def
-pursuit
-crunch
-stone edge
-earthquake
This thing pretty much covers all of Keldeo's weaknesses and they just have good synergy. his role on the team is to pretty much check talonflame who keldeo can't do anything against, and to get rid of latios and latias who he can pursuit trap. he also serves as a good revenge killer with choice scarf being able to outspeed all max 110 speed based pokemon.
Talonflame @ leftovers
ability: gale wings
nature: careful
EVs: 248 hp/ 252 SpD/ 8 Spd
-brave bird
-roost
-bulk up
-taunt
tyranitar has a four times weakness to fighting so i needed things to check pokemon like breloom and keldeo so input talonflame. i love this stallbreaker set because it allows talonflame to be able to check some pokemon that it normally wouldn't be able to like hippowdon and gliscor, along with a plethora of other stall pokemon. this thing pretty much shuts them down and then allows me to start setting up on them. one drawback with running this set is it lacks power so bulkier fighting types like conkeldurr can give it problems if it isn't weakened first.
Excadrill @ life orb
ability: sand rush
nature: adamant
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 SpD
-rapid spin
-iron head
-earthquake
-rock slide
if you are going to run talonflame then you need someone with hazard control. i chose excadrill because my team needed better coverage against fairy pokemon and he also fit the role of hazard control. excadrill in sand is sand is a monster. he checks mega gardevoir and clefable. he can also be used late game to clean up opposing teams
Venusaur mega @ Venusaurite
ability: thick fat
nature: bold
EVs: 252 Hp/ 240 Def/ 16 Spe
-giga drain
-sludge bomb
-sleep powder
-leech seed
Rotom-w pretty much walls, as well as mega altaria, mega venusaur checks them both. his typing fits so well with this team because of my water weakness he also has surprisingly good synergy with tyranitar mega venusaur checks lopunny, terrakion, and keldeo while tyranitar get's rid of talonflame, latios, and latias for mega venusaur. i'm running leech seed instead of synthesis, because synthesis seems counter productive in the sand, also leech seed can force some switches. i'm also running sleep powder to cripple some of mega venusaurs checks.
Garchomp @ rocky helmet
ability: rough skin
nature: impish
EVs: 252 Hp/ 164 Def/ 76 SpD/ 16 Spe
-stealth rock
-earthquake
-dragon tail
-toxic
last but not least i needed a stealth rock setter. i also wanted a bulky pokemon that could take some hits, garchomp fits this role perfectly. i normally use him as a lead to get rocks up as early as possible. the combination of dragon tail and toxic allow me to spread status early in the match to slowly wear down pokemon so either my keldeo or excadrill can clean up later in the game. this garchomp also is a good pokemon to sac later on in the game to a physical attacker to weaken them so the can be in range to revenge kill.
so here it is the best team i've ever built. i'm open to any and all suggestions to make this team even better. so please feel free to give your opinion on any improvements i can make
