The Chap's First Team

Hello This is my very first team designed for competitive battling but I have been doing researching and watching videos for years. Well I feel that i have done enough chit chatting here's my team.

Aerodactyl (lead)
Taunt
Stealth Rock
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Item:Focus sash
EVs: Spe 252/ Atk 252/ Hp 4

Hey everyone knows the idea behind this set but who can argue with Aerodactyl's incredible speed and it's ability to prevent other Taunters/ Stealth Rockers/ Status Inflicters from doing their job and then setting its own Stealth Rock then committing suicide taking as many pokemon down with it.

Ninjask (Sun support)
Sunny Day duh
Protect
Toxic
X-scissor
Item:Heat Rock
EVs: Spe 252/ Def 124/ SpD 124/ Hp 8

Ninjask's job here is to get that Sun up and have it last.
First turn he comes in he comes in most opponents are thinking s**t
I need to bring someone in to prevent this baton pass or have something that can then stand this damage from who ever is getting baton passed to.
So that's where toxic comes in to get whoever switches in to are bug. After that we need to judge what its gonna at us with so we use protect to scout what it has as well as toxic stall after this were gonna set up our sun if it's nothing or were gonna switch if it is a priority move. Also just to say if there is no switch and you know your opponents not faster than you just set up your sun.

Jumpluff (Sub Seeder w/ a Twist)
Substitute
Leech seed
Sleep Powder
Memento
Item: Leftovers
EVs: Def 188/ SpD 68/ Spe 252

Idea basic Sub Seed strategy put to sleep begin sub seeding but now on the eigth turn of sun or when ever he brings in his sweeper we are going to use memento to weaken him to the point that he is gonna have to switch next turn or he will do no damage and be in trouble.

Hariyama (Super Sweeper)
Substitute
Belly Drum
Bullet Punch
Close Combat
Item: Salac Berry
Evs: Atk 252/ SpD 128/ Def 128

Here's our BIG boy ready to abuse that memento. He is gonna come in set up that Substitute either the pokemon stays in and attacks and he doesnt break the substitute or he wont do enough damage to do enough damage to cause me fret in the plan. After the substitute is up we are gonna belly drum bringing Hariyama's attack to epic proportions in which now we can sweep as well as activating his berry boosting his speed. After that we just use close combat for wall like adversaries and Bullet Punch for those fast annoyances.

Ursaring (Sweeper)(Quick Feet)
Shadow Claw
Facade
Swords Dance
Protect
Item:Toxic Orb
EVs Atk 252/ Spe 252

Here takes some extra prediction to get this just right. for it to work we are either going to have to protect if we think they are going to stay and fight or use swords dance if they are leaving hopefully they leave cause lets just say with boosted facade there is not gonna be many things that can stop it. Hopefully no Steel types come in to ruin your fun.

Yanmega (Specs)(Tinted Lens)
Bug Buzz
Air Slash
Ancient Power
Giga Drain
Item:Choice Specs
EVs: SpA 252/Spe 252

This pokemon is probally gonna come in and have either one to two pokemon to face and on that first pokemon you are almost guaranteed a super effective probably OHKO hit then if possible you can switch to one of your other pokemon as a Martyr and end the game with another strong hit on their last pokemon.

Thank you so much for listening to me ramble please make any comments on my team and possible counters. Also please if you can make any suggestions you have to replace my Yanmega cause I'm still not sure about that one.

I don't get the whole idea of Ninjask being a Sunny dayer when only one poke on your team benefits from it. Maybe to go along with the Idea of a somewhat sunny day team you could replace Yanmega with an Infernape. Its fire moves get boosted by Sunny day and is a fast and powerful sweeper. But this makes your team very weak defensivily as your only sorta-wall is Hariyama. I would suggest adding another bulky pokemon or a choice scarf user could pretty much run through your team.
The set I would use for Infernape would be:

Infernape-Naive @ Life Orb
Ability- Blaze
Evs 252 SpAttack, 64 Attack, 192 speed
-Nasty Plot
-Flamethrower/Fire Blast
-Close Combat
-Grass Knot

Hope I helped good luck

Thanks for your advice forgot about those scarfed pokemon they could be a problem do you have any suggestions on walls that might suit this team I was thinking about using Shuckle but I'm not sure on the rule using more than one leftovers. If I was to use a shuckle it would run like this.
Shuckle(wall)
Rest
Toxic
Knock Off
Encore
Item:Leftovers
EVs: Hp 248/ Def 252/ SpD 8

What do you think I'm completely open to all suggestions.

hello, for your first team its a good start, however i think there are some changes you can make to make the team work alot better together

alright your lead aerodactly is an ok lead so ill leave him be

next up is ninjask, its a decent pokemon but i dont think your really benefit from the sunny day move set, if you want to keep him i would reccomend the baton, speed moveset which is quite popular and because your sweepers as of now are slow it will help

here is the set
Leftovers Adamant
~ Protect
~ Substitute
~ Baton Pass
~ X-Scissor
248 HP / 8 Atk / 184 Def / 68 Spe

the idea of a subseeder is nice but i dont think jumpluff is a verygood pokemon in OU standards, i would go with a subseed breloom, he does everything jumpluff does but with much better offensive capabilites and can last quite a while

Toxic Orb Poison Heal Impish

~ Substitute
~ Leech Seed
~ Focus Punch
~ Spore
236 HP / 248 Def / 24 Spe

hariyama seems to be your main sweeper, you got the idea right, while hariyama is a good physical sweeper, i feel that using the belly dance set while making his offensive very strong, puts him in jeopardy of an easy K0 as you only have 25% HP left after you setup sub and belly drum. i think a machamp would better do his job, as machamp is more bulky and can output a very good amount of dmg, while setting up subs, machamp also has a dark and rock attack giving you protection against psychic and flying (mainly salamece and dragonite)

Leftovers No Guard Adamant
~ Substitute
~ DynamicPunch
~ Payback
~ Stone Edge

now right now you have 2 decent sweepers with the support of a ninjask, i think your next pokemon should be either a healer or wall, which one you choose is up to you, im giving you a basic vaporeon wish support set, and a blissey wall set, you dont have to use these specificly but i highly recommend a healer/wall

BLISSEY
Leftovers Natural Cure Bold
Moveset EVs
~ Seismic Toss
~ Ice Beam / Flamethrower
~ Thunder Wave / Toxic
~ Softboiled
152 HP / 252 Def / 104 SpA

VAPOREON
Leftovers Bold
Moveset EVs
~ Wish
~ Protect
~ Surf
~ Hidden Power Electric (this is to handel gyrados)
188 HP / 252 Def / 68 Spe

yanmega, i would go with a salamence instead, mainly because if you baton pass to him with ninjask you have yourself an extreamly fast and powerfull sweeper, outrage will proably go first and if they switch in a steel (which happens alot) you have many fighting types to deal with it,

Life Orb Naughty
Moveset EVs
~ Dragon Dance
~ Outrage
~ Draco Meteor
~ Earthquake / Fire Blast
80 Atk / 252 SpA / 176 Spe

First off I'd like to say I really like Vouslavous' suggestions, although Outrage/EQ/Fire Blast or Brick Break would be a better moveset. With no steel types, I can see a Choice Scarf Flygon Tearing through your team, as you have nothing that resists Outrage and the only thing you have that can match it's speed is Mence after a DD.

yea that is a good point, maybe he should try a steel wall like registeel, its not use often yet i like it, the one thing about vaporeon though is i have found it excellent at reisiting outrage, after the dance i protect, wish, protect, that 99% time works for me, but i agree a solid wall or steel type is more reliable, that is one of the reasons i gave his machamp stone edge, seeing as how he has no ice moves (unless he switches HP for ice beam on vaporeon), stone edge is the next best thing against mence

Took your guys advice and made my team more bulky and replaced Ninjask, Yanmega, and Ursaring with Umbreon, Gallade, and Blissey

New Pokemon

Umbreon-(Curser)
Curse
Baton Pass
Payback
Moonlight
EVs 252 Hp/ 200 Atk/ 56 SpD
Item: Leftovers

Here's a wall for you can easily take hits boost its stats and recover them also it can baton pass these to the other pokemon on the team preferably my thought is to Gallade so he can have a better attack and a better defense which he needs.

Gallade(Status/Sweeper)
Will-O-Wisp
Shadow Sneak
Drain Punch
Night Slash
EVs: 252 Atk/ 200 Hp/ 56 SpD
Item: Wide Lens

Blissey (Calm Mind)
Calm Mind
Softboiled
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
EVs: 252 Hp/ 252 SpD
Item: Leftovers

What do you think about these changes?
