The Choice Is Yours! [OU RMT]

Tsutaja's 1st RMT: The Choice Is Yours!

Hello Smogon. So this is my first RMT so I apologize if I lack details or stuff. I just read the rules and this seems like it's what's recommended. This team is the results of observing the speed of the current Metagame. I decided to bring in 2 Choice Scarfers and 1 Choice Bander.

So I'm using this team for Wi-Fi. Hope you can recommend changes and don't be shy to do it :) Remember though that the main focus of this team is to beat the fast metagame that is currently on the spot.

The Team:

machamp.png

Machamp @Lum Berry
No Guard
240 HP/236 Attack/24 Defense/16 SpDef
Adamant
-Dynamic Punch
-Payback
-Bullet Punch
-Ice Punch

So the focus of this set is like other Machamps, to destroy. The difference is its EV Spread, which is meant to last longer and outspeed other Champs. This lead can probably last any hit from any Lead, besides an Explosion attack. I can also be safe from Bronzongs who use Hypnosis with the help of Lum Berry. I chose Ice Punch to take out more Leads such as Gliscor. So yeah, this is the Pokemon I chose to take out the other Leads. Usually it takes out 1-3 Pokemon, depending on the trainer's awareness.

heatran.png

Heatran @Choice Scarf
Flash Fire
128 Speed/64 Def/64 SpDef/252 SpAtk
Naive
-Explosion
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-HP Ice

So here's the 1st of my sweeping Pokemon. With Pokemon like Celebi in the way, I can call this Pokemon out. So this is a Smogon set Scarftran with a twist on its EV Spread. I added EV's to SpDef and Defense to add the bulkiness. Basically, when this Pokemon is out, it can outspeed many Pokemon and finish it off with either stab, a move it's weak to, or explosion when I'm about to lose.

rotomcut.png

Rotom-C @Choice Scarf
Levitate
200 HP/252 Speed/56 SpAtk
Modest
-Leaf Storm
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Trick

So this is my Scarfer. This is used on Pokemon that are big threats such as Gyarados and Swampert. While they're busy Roaring or Sweeping, I can scare them off with my great speed and type coverage. Also, I can use Trick to certain Pokes who tend to stay and setup. I trap Pokemon such as Vaporeon on Wish and more Pokemon. This is a very reliable Pokemon as it has great Speed and Sp Atk. I can finish about 2-3 Pokemon with this.

scizor.png

Scizor @Choice Band
Technician
168 HP/176 Attack/4 Speed/160 SpDef
Adamant
-Bullet Punch
-U Turn
-Pursuit
-Superpower

This is a regular CB Scizor, but a really good Pokemon when you use it well. I can finish off annoying Sp Walls such as Blissey and Cresselia with this. Other than that, I can give a huge damage to certain Pokemon like Gyarados even if it's not very effective. This Scizor set is beast, so it's definitely recommended. Pursuit makes it a good revenge killer too if a Pokemon is trapped with this. A good example is Gengar and Azelf.

jirachi.png

Jirachi @Leftovers
Serene Grace
252 HP/176 Speed/80 SpAtk
Timid
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt
-Calm Mind
-Substitute

Jirachi too is a good addition to my team. It counters an outraging Mence, and more. So basically, when I have time to Sub while the opponent switches in, I can Calm Mind or use a move right ahead. Given situation a SpecsTran is about to hit you while on sub, I can CM and blow him off with Tbolt on the next turn. I don't feel this Pokemon pretty well though. If you guys have a better suitable Pokemon for this team, recommend one :)

gyarados.png

Gyarados @Life Orb
Intimidate
4 HP/252 Attack/252 Speed
Adamant
-Waterfall
-Dragon Dance
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake

So this Pokemon used to be a Salamence but I found out that this pokemon works better than Salamence has ever done. So basically I just switch into something it resists and then setup. Once that happens, I can outspeed more Pokemon and usually HKO them with the good movepool. If you think this isn't that good, just say it :)

So yeah, that's my Choice Team, I hope you guys like it. And I hope I haven't done anything wrong. If there is, then tell me. I'll fix it. Remember, it's my first RMT xP So recommend stuff and yeah.

I just want this team to get more stable and solid. If you have better choices, tell me :)

This is a pretty solid team, but it could still be better with proper advice. The first thing I would like to point out is that you don't really need all those Speed EVs on Machamp -- reducing its own HP in exchange for Speed isn't a great deal in this case. By only using 240 HP / 16 SpD you make Machamp more bulky overall, and also able to resist Azelf's Psychic 100% of the time. On the other hand, I do not quite understand why have you put a Scarf on both Heatran and Rotom, though I guess Heatran is your answer to SD Luke while Rotom-c handles Gyarados and such. To be honest I think you could simplify this by changing Rotom's current forme to "H", so that you'll have in the same Pokemon a check to several threats. The spread I would like you to utilize for Rotom-h is the following: 200 HP / 56 SpA / 252 Spe, and a Timid nature obviously; by using such a bulky spread, Rotom will be able to take hits from the likes of Gyarados, Metagross and Scizor much better than by only using 4 HP EVs, so don't hesitate to give this spread a shot! As for Heatran, I honestly don't see the point on running another Scarf, what I would actually do is to try out the Substitute set in order to break stalls better through the combination of Toxic + Substitute; de-scarfing Heatran won't cause any trouble to your team, but the contrary.

The other members of the team need a few tweaks as well. To begin with, I recommend you to change Scizor's spread to: 168 HP / 176 Atk / 4 Spe / 160 SpD in order to take hits from the likes of Starmie and Salamence (as well as other special attackers in general) better. This spread allows you to survive a LOed Hydro Pump from 299 SpA Starmie after SR damage 100% of the time, and makes Salamence's Draco Meteor to cause less damage than usual. It may seem that Scizor looses a lot of power by moving all those Attack EVs to Special Defense, but it's only around 10% (enough to OHKO Gengar, and deal around 50% of damage to 4 HP / 0 Def Salamence with Bullet Punch).
On Jirachi I don't understand the purpose of using Iron Head in tandem with a -Attack nature... that's only weakening the power of this move. I suggest Psychic instead of Iron Head in order to have a way to hit Machamp, Breloom, Lucario and Heracross harder, and others such as Gliscor and Flygon that fail to receive damage from an Electric-type move. As for the Pokemon in the last slot, remember you can also use Roost instead of Dragon Claw (which actually has little purpose on this variant of Salamence) and recover some damage when needed -- this is a plausible option.

Good team overall, gl.

Just as a personal preference I've always preferred Wish CM Jirachi over the set you are using. Here it is:

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Bold
252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe
-Calm Mind
-Wish
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt

This Jirachi is still capable to sweeping with a few CMs under its belt, and Wish can help it shrug off attacks in order to get more CMs. It can also support your fairly offensive team which has no other ways to heal, especially with Mence's LO and if you change to a SubTran. Jirachi attracts Fire and Ground attacks which the rest of your team handles very well so it shouldn't be too hard to pass wishes around.

Hope this helps.

I can see that this team has some problems with Infernape. To remedy this you could use Gyarados>>Tyranitar. This would make you slightly weaker to Rotom-A so I recommend a bulkier spread on Heatran to better combat Rotom. For some time I used a Restalk Heatran which can even sometimes beat Blissey one on one.

Heatran @ Leftovers
252 HP/8 Def/16 SAtk/232 SDef
Modest

Lava Plume
Earth Power
Rest
Sleep Talk

With Lava Plume's burn rate you still have a somewhat risky way of dealing with common Heatran switch ins.

Other than that I see some typos on your current version of the team. Fire Punch is useless with Leftovers on Tyranitar as Scizor (the pokemon Fire Punch is specifically there for) beats you one on one with Bullet Punch. Instead use Babiri Berry with Fire Punch or Earthquake with Leftovers.

Also without Explosion on Heatran there is no need for Naive. Instead run Timid.
