With Decorate, Smeargle can enable potent attackers like Landorus, Ursaluna-B, and Diancie to pick up OHKOs with their strong spread moves. Spore in conjunction with Smeargle's Speed investment allows it to put common slower Pokemon like Incineroar, Iron Hands, Raging Bolt, and Diancie to sleep. Follow Me combined with Focus Sash allows Smeargle to support its teammates defensively by guaranteeing it is able to redirect both opposing Pokemon's attacks. Smeargle is an excellent Fake Out user, outspeeding the majority of opposing users. Wide Guard is used as counterplay against Gholdengo, Tornadus, and Expanding Force. Moody enables additional disruption opportunities for Smeargle via a Speed boost or Speed drop while Trick Room is up.
