[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Band + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon is one of the most powerful Choice item attackers in the metagame due to its incredible STAB moves, great defensive typing, immunity to burns, and amazing bulk. V-create is a ludicrously powerful STAB move that threatens the entirety of the unresisted metagame, notably OHKOing physically defensive Wonder Guard Slaking, Arceus, Mega Audino, and Cresselia after Stealth Rock. In contrast, Thousand Arrows is a virtually unresisted STAB move that is more spammable than V-create thanks to having no drawbacks, freely threatening slower Pokemon, such as Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas and Wonder Guard Mega Scizor, alongside paralyzed offensive Pokemon, like opposing Primal Groudon, chipped Mold Breaker Mega Rayquaza, slightly damaged Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Gengar. Beat Up is a great coverage option to heavily damage Prankster Giratina and the rare Mega Slowbro, which would ordinarily switch in on Choice Band Primal Groudon. Alternatively, Precipice Blades still 2HKOes Giratina while also threatening non-Flying-types much more effectively than Beat Up; however, opposing Prankster Giratina has a good chance to successfully fish for a miss by repeatedly using Recover. Knock Off item removal can be useful when forcing mind games, especially against defensive Wonder Guard users running Shed Shell when running a Shadow Tag teammate, and it still threatens Magic Bounce Giratina if Giratina has an intact item and even slight chip damage. Trick is a great option to incapacitate Prankster Giratina, supporting offensive and Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard teammates by shutting down their largest counter. U-turn allows Primal Groudon to retain momentum for its team, as well as continually forcing chip damage against its main check in Giratina. Primal Groudon outspeeds most relevant threats without Speed investment at +2, and the extra HP investment helps it survive -ate Speed from users like Abomasnow.

Primal Groudon works best on bulky offense teams, which appreciate its ability to force coinflip scenarios against slower teams and create momentum for offensive teammates. Prankster Giratina benefits Primal Groudon greatly by Imposter-proofing it thanks to its massive physical bulk and V-create resistance. Since opposing Prankster Giratina is Primal Groudon's most common switch-in, Huge Power Dark-types that can remove it with Pursuit, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Tyranitar, and Yveltal, are valuable partners for it; they can also heavily damage most Choice item + Shadow Tag users, which pick a weakened Primal Groudon off. In particular, Mega Gyarados is great, as it can also switch into an opposing Shell Smash Primal Groudon if healthy and force it out with Water Shuriken. Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard users allow Primal Groudon to come in safely with a Substitute, helping it beat offensive Pokemon like opposing Primal Groudon and Protean Mega Latios one-on-one. In particular, Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas has great utility in forcing Prankster Giratina and most Magic Bounce users out with Moonblast, and it can run a diverse array of support options in its filler moveslot, such as Stealth Rock, Defog, Aromatherapy, paralysis support in Glare, Dark Void, Taunt, and even Wish or Shell Smash support for Primal Groudon. Special Mold Breaker users, especially more powerful ones like Mega Latios, Mega Diancie, Choice Specs Mega Rayquaza, and Dialga, can force Giratina out after Primal Groudon uses U-turn. Paralysis support from the likes of Prankster Giratina, as well as select support Wonder Guard users, can make Primal Groudon even more threatening by providing free turns. Also, Primal Groudon can force out paralyzed offensive threats like Mega Gengar, Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y lacking a Choice Scarf, Mega Latios, and special Mega Rayquaza. Shadow Tag users can work well with Knock Off Primal Groudon, as the likes of Wonder Guard Primal Kyogre and bulky Gastro Acid + Wonder Guard users like Arceus are secondary switch-ins to it. Entry hazard setters, such as Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard users, defensive Wonder Guard users, and bulky Mold Breaker teammates, can bolster Primal Groudon's offensive prowess, as the additional chip damage from Stealth Rock affects Primal Groudon's KO rolls in a wide variety of instances. Defensive Wonder Guard users can provide Defog and Aromatherapy support, keeping Primal Groudon healthy over the course of a game.

Other Options
=============

Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon can use Glare, Nuzzle, or Thunder Wave as disruption, as once opposing Giratina suffers full paralysis, Primal Groudon usually grabs a KO; however, running paralysis makes proper Imposter-proofing more difficult. Sheer Cold is another option; while it is inherently luck-dependent, across a game it has a good chance of eliminating opposing Giratina, making Shell Smash Primal Groudon much more threatening for the rest of the game. Precipice Blades and Diamond Storm are fringe options on its last two moveslots. Having a stronger Ground-type STAB move allows Primal Groudon to OHKO Mega Tyranitar and Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock, and Primal Kyogre, Xerneas, and offensive Arceus after Shell Smash. However, the additional utility gained from having two support moves makes running these moves not worth it most of the time. Sacred Fire is an option over King's Shield or V-create, spreading burns against offensive switch-ins and OHKOing Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas after a Shell Smash, but it does not synergize well with Spore or Dark Void and only slightly helps against opposing Giratina. U-turn can be used for Shell Smash Primal Groudon to force opposing Giratina in and retain momentum, taking advantage of Thousand Arrows's virtually-perfect coverage and Primal Groudon's incredible offensive prowess even when unboosted; it also 2HKOes Huge Power Mega Gyarados, a popular switch-in. However, without a teammate that can handle and punish Giratina, especially a Huge Power Dark-types like Mega Gyarados, Mega Tyranitar, or Yveltal, Primal Groudon still has trouble breaking through Giratina. Running Knock Off allows boosted Shell Smash Primal Groudon to threaten Giratina lacking Griseous Orb more, and it synergizes well with Spore by removing Safety Goggles; however, this leaves Primal Groudon exceptionally difficult to Imposter-proof. Safety Goggles allows Primal Groudon to win one-on-one against Mega Gengar, Mold Breaker Arceus, and Dialga running Spore, and it blocks Spore from Prankster Giratina, but it usually isn't worthwhile over Lum Berry. Earth Plate is a fringe option to OHKO opposing Primal Groudon not running bulk investment with Thousand Arrows; Life Orb lets Primal Groudon do the same and OHKO bulky Primal Groudon variants after Stealth Rock. However, running an item that aids Shell Smash Primal Groudon's longevity, such as Leftovers, aids its sweep, like Mental Herb, or removes status, like Lum Berry, is usually more worthwhile. Shell Smash Primal Groudon can invest more in Speed at the cost of bulk; 56 Speed EVs outspeed Choice Scarf Shadow Tag Primal Groudon after a Shell Smash, 148 Speed EVs outspeed Deoxys-S after a boost, and maximum Speed investment (with an Adamant nature) outspeeds Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Gengar, and Mega Manectric after a Shell Smash and V-create.

Choice Band + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon has nearly as much set versatility as Shell Smash + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon does. Sacred Fire can be run to provide burn support over multiple uses, which is especially important because Primal Groudon can slowly wear burned Prankster Giratina down with Thousand Arrows if it lacks Leftovers; it is also a powerful STAB move in its own right, being a near-guaranteed 2HKO against Wonder Guard Cresselia, Slaking, and Arceus while 2HKOing Mega Audino. Extreme Speed is an option to pick off frailer weakened foes such as Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Shell Smash Mega Latios lacking King's Shield, but often isn't worth it due to being unreliable against healthy foes and having the opportunity cost of forgoing coverage or support. Water Shuriken specifically targets Shell Smash Primal Groudon and Mold Breaker Mega Diancie, as well as weakened Choice Band Primal Groudon and Mold Breaker Mega Tyranitar, though it's difficult to justify using, as it's nigh-useless otherwise. Diamond Storm can OHKO standard Mega Rayquaza, Yveltal, and Ho-Oh, but Thousand Arrows usually hits hard enough with a Choice Band, especially with Stealth Rock support, that running Diamond Storm isn't necessary. Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes can be useful when forcing Giratina in, but they are momentum sinks, especially when Choice Band on Primal Groudon is revealed. Recover can also be used on the switch, greatly helping Primal Groudon's longevity, but it is much more difficult to use against a team with Shadow Tag users, and the opportunity cost of not running coverage or support is high. Glare and Nuzzle can paralyze opposing Giratina when it comes in, forcing mind games and luck gambles the next time Primal Groudon comes in. Alternative EV spreads of 232 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 20 Spe, 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe, and 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe with an Adamant nature can be run. The first spread outspeeds standard Shell Smash Mold Breaker Primal Groudon, Mega Tyranitar, and Dialga, the second outspeeds uninvested Yveltal and Xerneas, and the final one outspeeds Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X, and Mega Gengar after Sticky Web. However, even when running the first spread, it's quite risky to stay in against Pokemon Primal Groudon is meant to outspeed when it's weakened, and the other two spreads lose out on bulk. A Jolly nature could be run with 252 Speed EVs to outspeed all Shell Smash Primal Groudon and Dialga variants, Mold Breaker Xerneas, and slower Mega Latios spreads, but it also misses out on bulk and fails to reliably OHKO opposing Wonder Guard Slaking, Arceus, Cresselia, and Mega Audino after Stealth Rock.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Prankster Giratina**: Prankster Giratina can check Primal Groudon well in tandem with a revenge killer that threatens Primal Groudon, especially when running Safety Goggles. It can then severely diminish Primal Groudon's offensive presence with Glare, force Shell Smash sweeper variants out with Encore, or predict a switch and chip opposing switch-ins with Curse. Additionally, niche Haze sets cannot be PP stalled by Shell Smash like Encore variants, though they have a much more difficult time checking special Mold Breaker users, which threaten Giratina unboosted. However, Shell Smash Primal Groudon running Dark Void can power through Giratina, and Choice Band + Mold Breaker variants running Beat Up can gash it after a single prediction, so running Prankster Giratina as the only check isn't recommended.

**Imposter users**: Due to its general reliance on Thousand Arrows, Shell Smash + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon is notoriously difficult to Imposter-proof. Without an exceptionally powerful revenge killer such as Huge Power Mega Gyarados or a healthy Prankster Giratina, opposing Imposter users can make progress and potentially countersweep; however, teams running Dark Void Primal Groudon in particular are especially susceptible to Imposter countersweeps, even with a healthy Giratina. Eviolite Imposter users are especially difficult for Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon to deal with, as despite having to win a Speed tie if Primal Groudon stays in, they can force a switch into Giratina, which is very passive and drains momentum. Choice Scarf Imposter users are slightly more manageable, as they are stuck using Thousand Arrows or V-create, but are still very threatening nonetheless. However, even Choice Scarf + Imposter Chansey is 2HKOed by Choice Band Primal Groudon's Thousand Arrows, so Choice Scarf Imposter users cannot switch in reliably.

**Huge Power Mega Gyarados**: Mega Gyarados is bulky enough to come in on unboosted Primal Groudon, and it can force coinflip scenarios with Water Shuriken and a Huge Power-boosted Pursuit; however, this mind game is somewhat eased if Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon runs King's Shield, and Mega Gyarados is incentivized to use Water Shuriken, as Primal Groudon staying in on Pursuit would prove disastrous. Additionally, Water Shuriken requires three hits to KO healthy unboosted Primal Groudon running standard EV spreads, assuming Mega Gyarados isn't running a boosting item. Therefore, even when a correct prediction is done, Primal Groudon can maybe heavily damage Mega Gyarados, and remove heavily damaged ones, with Thousand Arrows.

**Other Revenge Killers**: Other revenge killers can also threaten Primal Groudon, though they struggle to do so to the same extent as Mega Gyarados. Although they dislike switching into Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon multiple times, Refrigerate Mega Abomasnow and Kyurem-B, Aerilate or Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza, and Huge Power Slaking or Regigigas running Water Shuriken can force unboosted Primal Groudon out if healthy. However, all but Mega Abomasnow and special Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza, and Slaking or Regigigas with Water Shuriken and a boosting item, will fail to reliably force out boosted Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon with King's Shield. Also, only Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza can reliably come in on Choice Band Primal Groudon if healthy. Some Choice Scarf + No Guard users, like Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Aerodactyl, and Deoxys-S, outspeed any Primal Groudon even after a Shell Smash, so they can reliably force Primal Groudon out after coming in on a prediction, with pivoting support, or after a teammate has fainted. However, weakened Choice Scarf + No Guard users can fall to rare Choice Band + Mold Breaker variants running Extreme Speed. Additionally, Choice Scarf + Shadow Tag users, like Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo Y, can outspeed Choice Band + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon, as well as slower Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets even after a boost, and OHKO with a special Water-type move. Choice Band + Shadow Tag Mega Mewtwo X running Precipice Blades can also remove Choice Band Primal Groudon sets, as well as revenge killling unboosted Shell Smash Primal Groudon, with minimal chip damage.

**Faster Hard Hitters**: In a one-on-one scenario, faster Pokemon that are sufficiently strong, such as Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X, Protean Mega Latios, and Choice Specs Mega Mewtwo Y or Mega Rayquaza, can force Primal Groudon out. While a healthy Mold Breaker Primal Groudon can switch into and threaten offensive Wonder Guard users, some Shell Smash + Wonder Guard users, such as Xerneas or Mega Gardevoir running Earth Power and Mega Lucario, can reliably OHKO Primal Groudon after a Shell Smash. Wonder Guard Mega Gardevoir running Grass Knot or Spooky Plate + Judgment will still OHKO even bulky Primal Groudon variants after a Shell Smash and Stealth Rock.

**Water-type Coverage**: Pokemon that Primal Groudon often switches in on, like Xerneas, Wonder Guard Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Manectric, can run Water-type moves to catch it off guard and OHKO it; however, they are largely circumvented by running Substitute + Baton Pass support and adequately scouting for such moves.

Beat Up is a great coverage option that allows Primal Groudon to cripple heavily damage Prankster Giratina and the rare Mega Slowbro, which would ordinarily switch in on Choice Band Primal Groudon. Alternatively, Precipice Blades could be used as it still 2HKOes Giratina while also threatening non-Flying types much more effectively than Beat Up; however, opposing Prankster Giratina has a good chance to successfully fish for a miss when perpetually using Recover. Knock Off can be run to provide item removal which can be useful when forcing mind games, especially against defensive Wonder Guard users running Shed Shell if running a Shadow Tag teammate, while still threatening Magic Bounce Giratina. Trick is a great option which allows Primal Groudon to cripple hinder opposing Prankster Giratina, supporting offensive and Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard teammates effectively by shutting down their largest counter. U-Turn is allows Primal Groudon to retain momentum for its team, while also sustaining chip against its main switch-in check in Giratina after multiple uses. Maximum HP and Attack investment allows Primal Groudon to hit as hard as possible while maximizing its bulk; an Adamant nature further augments Primal Groudon's offensive prowess.

Primal Groudon works best on bulky offense teams which appreciate its ability to force 50-50s against slower teams, remove comma and create momentum for offensive teammates. Prankster Giratina and Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas, staples on bulky offense, are is able to benefit Primal Groudon greatly as partners, due to its high defences and V-create resistance, effectively Imposter-proofing Primal Groudon it. add period and allowing Wonder Guard Substitute + Baton Pass users allow Primal Groudon it to come in safely through having with a Substitute, giving it the ability to avoid attacks from revenge killers like add an example or two here. Also, you mention Xern below, so either remove that below and add xern into this sentence or combine them somehow. passed to it, respectively. Additionally, as opposing Prankster Giratina is Primal Groudon's most common switch-in, Huge Power Dark-types which can remove it, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Tyranitar, and Yveltal, are valuable partners for it; they can also heavily damage most Choice item offensive Shadow Tag users which pick a weakened Primal Groudon off. In particular Mega Gyarados is a great partner, as it can also come in on an opposing Shell Smash Primal Groudon if healthy and force it out with Water Shuriken. Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard users, in particular Xerneas, is a great partner due to being able to pass Substitutes to Primal Groudon, force Prankster Giratina out with Moonblast, or potentially support Primal Groudon by setting hazards, removing them with Defog, being a cleric, paralyzing opposing switch-ins, putting opposing switch-ins to sleep, or passing it Shell Smash boosts on top of a Substitute. Special Mold Breaker users, especially more powerful ones like Mega Latios, Mega Diancie, Choice Specs Mega Rayquaza, and Dialga, are also good partners due to forcing maybe phrase this differently, like "their ability to pressure giratina out after Groudon's slow uturn" Giratina out after Primal Groudon uses U-Turn. Paralysis support from the likes of Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas, Prankster Giratina, and as a niche move on as well as select support Wonder Guard users can make Primal Groudon even more threatening through allowing it to accrue free turns, as well as force out faster offensive threats like (give an example). which largely rely on their speed to threaten the opposing team. Shadow Tag users can work well with Primal Groudon variants running Knock Off, as the likes of Wonder Guard Primal Kyogre and bulky Gastro Acid Wonder Guard users like Arceus are secondary switch-ins to it. Hazard setters, such as Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard users, defensive Wonder Guard users, or bulky Mold Breaker teammates can help bolster Primal Groudon's offensive prowess, as the additional chip from Stealth Rock affects Primal Groudon's rolls in a wide variety of instances. Defensive Wonder Guard users can provide Defog and Aromatherapy support, minimizing the chip that Primal Groudon takes from switching in and keeping it healthy over the course of a game.

Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon can use Glare, Nuzzle, or Thunder Wave as disruption, as once opposing Giratina is fully paralyzed, Primal Groudon usually grabs a KO; however, running paralysis makes properly Imposter-proofing more difficult. Sheer Cold is another option; while it is inherently luck-dependent, over the course of a game it has a good chance of eliminating opposing Giratina, making Shell Smash Primal Groudon much more threatening for the rest of the game. Precipice Blades and Diamond Storm are fringe options that can be run on the last two moveslots. Having a stronger Ground-type STAB move allows Primal Groudon to OHKO Mega Tyranitar and Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock, and Primal Kyogre, Xerneas, and offensive Arceus after Shell Smash; Diamond Storm, on top of potentially increasing Primal Groudon's physical bulk, is then necessary to hit Flying-types like Mega Rayquaza, Ho-Oh, and Yveltal, all of which it can OHKO after Shell Smash. However, the additional utility gained from having 3 support moves makes running these moves not worth it most of the time. Sacred Fire is an option over King's Shield or V-create, spreading burns against offensive switch-ins as well as OHKOing Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas after a Shell Smash, but does not synergize well with Spore or Dark Void and only slightly helps against opposing Giratina. Running Knock Off allows Shell Smash Primal Groudon to threaten Giratina not running Griseous Orb harder when boosted, and synergizes well with Spore by removing Safety Goggles; however, this leaves Primal Groudon exceptionally difficult to Imposter-proof. Primal Groudon can opt to invest more in Speed at the cost of bulk; 56 Speed EVs allow Primal Groudon to outspeed Choice Scarf Shadow Tag Primal Groudon after a Shell Smash, 148 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed Deoxys-S after a boost,I think this is important enough that 104 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 148 Spe belongs in the first paragraph, if not as the primary ev set and maximum Speed investment (with an Adamant nature) allows Primal Groudon to outspeed opposing Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X, and Mega Gengar after a Shell Smash and V-create.

Choice Band Mold Breaker Primal Groudon has just as much set versatility as Shell Smash Mold Breaker Primal Groudon does. Sacred Fire can be run to provide burnsi don't like "provide burns", try and change wording, which is especially important as Primal Groudon can slowly wear burned Prankster Giratina down with Thousand Arrows if it lacks Leftovers; it is also a powerful STAB move in its own right, being a near guaranteed 2HKO against Wonder Guard Cresselia, Slaking, and Arceus, while 2HKOing Mega Audino. Water Shuriken specifically targets Shell Smash Primal Groudon and Mold Breaker Mega Diancie, as well as opposing weakened Choice Band Primal Groudon and Mold Breaker Mega Tyranitar, though it's difficult to justify using as it's nigh useless outside of matchups against these Pokemon. Diamond Storm can be run to threaten Mega Rayquaza, Yveltal, and Ho-Oh, but Thousand Arrows usually hits hard enough with a Choice Band that running Diamond Storm isn't necessary. Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes are options which can be useful when forcing Giratina in, but are momentum sinks, especially when Choice Band on Primal Groudon is revealed. Checks and Counters
===================

However, Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets running Dark Void can power through Giratina, and Choice Band Mold Breaker variants running Beat Up can cripple heavily damage it after a single prediction, so running Prankster Giratina as the only check isn't recommended.

**Imposter users**: Due to its general reliance on Thousand Arrows, Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon is notoriously difficult to Imposter-proof. Without an exceptionally powerful revenge killer such as Huge Power Mega Gyarados or a healthy Prankster Giratina, opposing Imposter users can make progress and potentially countersweep; however, teams running Dark Void Primal Groudon are susceptible to Imposter countersweeps, even with a healthy Giratina. Eviolite Imposter users are especially difficult for Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon to deal with, as despite having to win a speed tie if Primal Groudon stays in they can force a switch into Giratina. Choice Scarf Imposter users are slightly more manageable, as they are stuck using Thousand Arrows or V-Create, but are still very threatening nonetheless. However, Choice Scarf Imposter Chansey is 2HKOed by Choice Band Primal Groudon's Thousand Arrows, so Choice Scarf Imposter users cannot switch in reliably.

**Huge Power Mega Gyarados**: Mega Gyarados is bulky enough to come in on unboosted Primal Groudon, and can force 50-50s with Water Shuriken and a Huge Power-boosted Pursuit; however, this mindgame is somewhat eased if Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon runs King's Shield, and Mega Gyarados is incentivized into using Water Shuriken, as Primal Groudon staying in on Pursuit would prove disastrous. Additionally, Water Shuriken requires 3 hits to KO healthy unboosted Primal Groudon running standard spreads if Mega Gyarados isn't running a boosting item, so even when a correct prediction is done Primal Groudon can heavily damage Mega Gyarados, and remove heavily damaged ones, with Thousand Arrows.

**Other Revenge Killers**: Other Revenge Killers can also threaten Primal Groudon, though they struggle to do so to the same extent that Mega Gyarados is able to. Although they dislike switching into Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon multiple times, Refrigerate Mega Abomasnow and Kyurem-B, Aerilate or Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza, and Huge Power Slaking or Regigigas running Water Shuriken can force unboosted Primal Groudon out if healthy. However, all but Mega Abomasnow and special Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza, and Slaking or Regigigas with Water Shuriken and a boosting item, will fail to reliably force out boosted Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon with King's Shield, and only Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza can reliably come in on Choice Band Primal Groudon if healthy. Some Choice Scarf No Guard users, like Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Aerodactyl and Deoxys-S, outspeed any Primal Groudon even after a Shell Smash, so they can reliably force Primal Groudon out after either coming in on a prediction, with pivoting support, or after a teammate has fainted; however, weakened Choice Scarf No Guard users can get KOed by rare Choice Band Mold Breaker variants running Extreme Speed. Additionally, Choice Scarf Shadow Tag users, like Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo Y, can outspeed Choice Band Mold Breaker Primal Groudon, as well as slower Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets even after a boost, and OHKO with a special Water-type move; Choice Band Shadow Tag Mega Mewtwo X sets running Precipice Blades can also remove Choice Band Primal Groudon sets, as well as revenge kill unboosted Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets, with minimal chip.

**Faster Hard Hitters**: In a 1v1 scenario, faster Pokemon that are sufficiently strong, such as Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X, Protean Mega Latios, or Choice Specs Mega Mewtwo Y or Mega Rayquaza, can force Primal Groudon out. Additionally, offensive Shadow Tag users running moves that can threaten unboosted Primal Groudon, such as Mega Latios running Earth Power or Surf, Mega Mewtwo Y running Surf, or Choice Scarf Mega Rayquaza or Choice Band Mega Aerodactyl with Crabhammer, will usually trap and eliminate it if it is unboosted. However, none these Pokemon, bar Choice Scarf Mega Mewtwo Y and Mega Rayquaza, can take on a boosted Primal Groudon or switch in unboosted Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon, and none of these Pokemon can reliably switch in on Choice Band Mold Breaker Primal Groudon bar rare Shadow Tag Mega Rayquaza variants running HP investment.

**Water Coverage**: Pokemon that Primal Groudon often switches in on, like Xerneas, Wonder Guard Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Manectric, can run Water-type moves to catch it off guard and OHKO it; however, this issue is largely circumvented by running Substitute + Baton Pass support and adequately scouting for such moves. if you feel the need to add anything else to this absolute essay of an analysis, add ground coverage like earth power being run on some mons like xern here

**Grass-type Defensive Pokemon**: While very rare, Primordial Sea Grass-types like Leavanny, Tangrowth, and Chesnaught can come in on standard Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon and wall it easily. However, some Grass-types, like Leavanny, are susceptible to being Pursuit trapped by partners like Mega Gyarados, and only Chesnaught can act as a long-term check to Choice Band Mold Breaker Primal Groudon.

Choice Band Mold Breaker Primal Groudon is one of the most powerful Choice item attackers in the metagame due to its incredible STABs, great defensive typing, immunity to Will-O-Wisp, and amazing bulk. V-create is a ludicrously powerful STAB move that threatens the entirety of the unresisted metagame, notably OHKOing physically defensive Wonder Guard Slaking, Arceus, Mega Audino, and Cresselia after Stealth Rock. I suppose its not wrong to say this about thousand arrows however thousand arrows not getting the OHKO IMO doesn't give Groudon true impunity I might try to use a different word here. Could say annoying to giratina but it doesn't get a 2hko after item removal. but the item removal is nice. Trick is a great option which that allows Primal Groudon to hinder cripple opposing Prankster Giratina, supporting offensive and Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard teammates by shutting down their largest counter. U-Turn is allows Primal Groudon to retain momentum for its team, while also sustaining chip damage against its main check-in Giratina after multiple uses. Maximum HP and Attack investment allows Primal Groudon to hit as hard as possible while maximizing its bulk; an Adamant nature further augments Primal Groudon's offensive prowess.

Primal Groudon works best on bulky offense teams which appreciate its ability to force 50-50s against slower teams and create momentum for offensive teammates. Prankster Giratina is able to benefit Primal Groudon greatly due to its great physical bulk and resistance to V-create, effectively Imposter-proofing it. Prankster Giratina benefits Primal Groudon greatly by imposter-proofing it due to its massive physical bulk and V-create resistance. Wonder Guard Substitute + Baton Pass users, especially Xerneas, allow Primal Groudon to come in safely with a Substitute, giving it the ability to avoid take attacks from offensive Pokemon, like opposing Primal Groudon and Protean Mega Latios, in a 1v1 situation. Additionally, Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas has great utility paring due to in I would try to make this more around pairing than utility not completely sure how you want to word it but i would focus on how well xerneas pairs and yes utility but many other wg's also provide utility so focus on xerneas strengths in moonblast is why its one of the best or is the best wg pairing for groudon. forcing Prankster Giratina out and being able to run a diverse array of support options in its filler moveslot, such as Stealth Rock, Defog, Aromatherapy, paralysis support in Glare, Dark Void, Taunt, and even Wish support for Primal Groudon. Additionally, as opposing Prankster Giratina is Primal Groudon's most common switch-in maybe try to place this before xerneas?, Huge Power Dark-types which can remove it, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Tyranitar, and Yveltal, are valuable partners for it; Unsure if going too in-depth for these but perhaps mention the pursuit trapping aspect. they can also heavily damage most Choice item offensive Shadow Tag users which pick a weakened Primal Groudon off. In particular, Mega Gyarados is a great partner, as it can also come in on an opposing Shell Smash Primal Groudon if healthy and force it out with Water Shuriken. Perhaps try to combine with the other part since you already mentioned or just mentioned gyarados. Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard users, in particular Xerneas, is a great partner due to being able to pass Substitutes to Primal Groudon, force Prankster Giratina out with Moonblast, or potentially support Primal Groudon by setting hazards move this up to where xerneas is. It almost feels like i am rereading the same section over again. , removing them with Defog, being a cleric, paralyzing opposing switch-ins, putting opposing switch-ins to sleep, or passing it Shell Smash boosts on top of a Substitute. Special Mold Breaker users, especially more powerful ones like Mega Latios, Mega Diancie, Choice Specs Mega Rayquaza, and Dialga, are also good partners due to their ability to force Giratina out after Primal Groudon uses U-Turn. Paralysis support from the likes of Prankster Giratina, as well as select support Wonder Guard users can make Primal Groudon even more threatening through by allowing it to accrue free turns, as well as force out faster offensive threats like Mega Gengar, Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y lacking a Choice Scarf, Mega Latios, and special Mega Rayquaza. Seems like a long sentence and a little weird way of putting it but I suppose it's alright. Shadow Tag users can work well with Primal Groudon variants running Knock Off , as the likes of Wonder Guard Primal Kyogre and bulky Gastro Acid Wonder Guard users like Arceus are secondary switch-ins to it. either move this into the earlier part where u mentioned knock off already or move that part down here. try not to repeat to much. Defensive Wonder Guard users can provide Defog and Aromatherapy support, minimizing the chip that Primal Groudon takes from switching in and keeping it healthy over the course of a game. again you have mentioned sub pass multiple times.

Running Knock Off allows Shell Smash Primal Groudon to use Dark Void and Safety Goggles more freely and deal higher damage to Giratina. to threaten Giratina not running Griseous Orb harder when boosted, and synergizes well with Spore by removing Safety Goggles; however, this leaves Primal Groudon exceptionally difficult to Imposter-proof. Safety Goggles allows Primal Groudon to win the 1v1 against Mega Gengar, Mold Breaker Arceus, and Dialga running Spore and prevents Prankster Spore Giratina from crippling it, but usually isn't worth it over Lum Berry. Earth Plate is a fringe option that allows Primal Groudon to OHKO opposing Primal Groudon not running bulk investment with Thousand Arrows; Life Orb lets Primal Groudon OHKO Primal Groudon lacking HP investment with Thousand Arrows as well as OHKO bulky Primal Groudon variants after Stealth Rock. However, running an item that aids Primal Groudon's longevity, such as Leftovers, aids its sweep, like Mental Herb, or prevents status from affecting it, like Lum Berry, is usually more worthwhile. Primal Groudon can opt to invest more in Speed at the cost of bulk; 56 Speed EVs allow Primal Groudon to outspeed Choice Scarf Shadow Tag Primal Groudon after a Shell Smash, 148 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed Deoxys-S after a boost, and maximum Speed investment (with an Adamant nature) allows Primal Groudon to outspeed opposing Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X, and Mega Gengar after a Shell Smash and V-create. You need to mention outpacing MMX, Gengar Mega (130's) after a shell smash. Also SMH not mentioning Waifu Rabbit or Electric Dogo here.

Choice Band, Mold Breaker Primal Groudon has nearly as much set versatility as Shell Smash Mold Breaker Primal Groudon does. Sacred Fire can be run to provide burn support over multiple uses, which is especially important as Primal Groudon can slowly wear burned Prankster Giratina down with Thousand Arrows. if it lacks Leftovers ; it is also a powerful STAB move in its own right, being a near-guaranteed 2HKO against Wonder Guard Cresselia, Slaking, and Arceus, while 2HKOing Mega Audino. Extreme Speed is an option to pick off frailer weakened foes such as Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Shell Smash Mega Latios Pokemon lacking King's Shield, but often isn't worth it due to not being reliable against healthy foes and the opportunity cost of forgoing coverage or support. Diamond Storm Can be run to get the OHKO on Mega Rayquaza Yveltal and Ho-Oh without stealth rocks but usually isn't worth it when you already have Thousand Arrows. can be run to threaten Mega Rayquaza, Yveltal, and Ho-Oh, but Thousand Arrows usually hits hard enough with a Choice Band that running Diamond Storm isn't necessary. Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes are options which that can be useful when forcing Giratina in, but are momentum sinks, especially when Choice Band on Primal Groudon is revealed. Recover can also be used on the switch, greatly helping Primal Groudon's longevity, but is much more difficult to use against a team with Shadow Tag users, and the opportunity cost of not running coverage or support is high. Glare and Nuzzle are options to paralyze opposing Giratina when it comes in, forcing mind games and luck gambles the next time Primal Groudon comes in. Alternative spreads of 232 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 20 Spe, 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe, and 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe with an Adamant nature can be run to speedcreep standard Shell Smash Mold Breaker users speedcreeping Pokemon with 150 base Speed after a Shell Smash, uninvested Yveltal, and Xerneas, and Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X, and Mega Gengar after Sticky Web, respectively Try to reword this I am not exactly sure if you mean after a smash for some of these or a smash and webs try to clarify a little more. Just not sure what is trying to be said here; however, even when running the first spread it's quite risky to stay in against Mold Breaker Primal Groudon, Mega Tyranitar, and Dialga when weakened, and the other two spreads lose out on bulk. A Jolly nature could be run to outspeed all Shell Smash Primal Groudon and Dialga variants, Mold Breaker Xerneas, and slower Mega Latios spreads, but also misses out on bulk and fails to reliably OHKO opposing Wonder Guard Slaking, Arceus, Cresselia, and Mega Audino after Stealth Rock.

Checks and Counters
===================

However, Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets running Dark Void can power through Giratina, and Choice Band Mold Breaker variants running Beat Up can cripple it after a single prediction, so running Prankster Giratina as the only check isn't recommended. Could mention haze here.

Especially teams running dark void instead of spore.

Some Choice Scarf No Guard users, like Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Aerodactyl, and Deoxys-Speed, outspeed any Primal Groudon even after a Shell Smash, so they can reliably force Primal Groudon out after either coming in on a prediction, with pivoting support or after a teammate has fainted; however, weakened Choice Scarf No Guard users can get KOed by rare Choice Band Mold Breaker variants running Extreme Speed. Additionally, Choice Scarf Shadow Tag users, like Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo Y, can outspeed Choice Band Mold Breaker Primal Groudon, as well as slower Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets even after a boost, and OHKO with a special Water-type move; Choice Band Shadow Tag Mega Mewtwo X sets running Precipice Blades can also remove Choice Band Primal Groudon sets, as well as revenge, kill unboosted Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets, with minimal chip damage.

Additionally, offensive Shadow Tag users running moves that can threaten unboosted Primal Groudon, such as Mega Latios running Earth Power or Surf Steam Eruption maybe even scald? but not surf, Mega Mewtwo Y running Surf Steam Eruption, or Choice Scarf Mega Rayquaza, or Choice Band Mega Aerodactyl with Crabhammer, will usually trap and eliminate it if it is unboosted. However, none of these Pokemon, bar Choice Scarf Mega Mewtwo Y and Mega Rayquaza, can take on a boosted Primal Groudon or switch in unboosted Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon, and none of these Pokemon can reliably switch in on Choice Band Mold Breaker Primal Groudon bar rare Shadow Tag Mega Rayquaza variants running HP investment. While a healthy Mold Breaker Primal Groudon can switch into, and threaten, offensive Wonder Guard users, some Wonder Guard Shell Smash users, such as Xerneas or Mega Gardevoir running Earth Power and standard Mega Lucario what is standard Mega Lucario nowadays?, can reliably OHKO Primal Groudon after a Shell Smash. Wonder Guard Mega Gardevoir running Grass Knot or Spooky Plate Judgment will also OHKO even bulky Primal Groudon variants after a Shell Smash and Stealth Rock chip.

**Grass-type Defensive Pokemon Defensive Primordial Sea user the main thing here is primordial see i suppose you can maybe mix the to into a different name.i just felt primordial sea was a better description.**: While very rare, Primordial Sea Grass-types like Leavanny, Tangrowth, and Chesnaught can come in on standard Mold Breaker Shell Smash Primal Groudon and wall it easily. However, some Grass-types, like Leavanny, are susceptible to being Pursuit trapped by partners like Mega Gyarados, and only Chesnaught can act as a long-term check to Choice Band Mold Breaker Primal Groudon.

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Band + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon is one of the most powerful Choice item attackers in the metagame due to its incredible STAB moves, great defensive typing, immunity to Will-O-Wisp, burns, and amazing bulk. V-create is a ludicrously powerful STAB move that threatens the entirety of the unresisted metagame, notably OHKOing physically defensive Wonder Guard Slaking, Arceus, Mega Audino, and Cresselia after Stealth Rock. In contrast, Thousand Arrows is a virtually unresisted STAB move which that is more spammable than V-create thanks to having no drawbacks, freely threatening slower Pokemon, such as Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas (RC) and Wonder Guard Mega Scizor, and alongside paralyzed offensive Pokemon, like opposing Primal Groudon, chipped Mold Breaker Mega Rayquaza, slightly damaged Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Gengar, with near impunity. Beat Up is a great coverage option that allows Primal Groudon to heavily damage Prankster Giratina and the rare Mega Slowbro, which would ordinarily switch in on Choice Band Primal Groudon. Alternatively, Precipice Blades could be used as it still 2HKOes Giratina while also threatening non-Flying-types (added second hyphen) much more effectively than Beat Up; however, opposing Prankster Giratina has a good chance to successfully fish for a miss when perpetually by repeatedly using Recover. Knock Off can be run to provide item removal which Off item removal can be useful when forcing mind games, especially against defensive Wonder Guard users running Shed Shell if when running a Shadow Tag teammate, while still threatening and it still threatens Magic Bounce Giratina with Leftovers or Safety Goggles intact with if Giratina has an intact item and (I imagine this still works?) even slight chip damage. Trick is a great option that allows Primal Groudon to cripple opposing to incapacitate Prankster Giratina, supporting offensive and Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard teammates by shutting down their largest counter. U-Turn is U-turn allows Primal Groudon to retain momentum for its team, while also sustaining as well as continually forcing chip damage against its main check in (removed hyphen) Giratina after multiple uses. Maximum HP and Attack investment allows Primal Groudon to hit as hard as possible while maximizing its bulk; an Adamant nature further augments Primal Groudon's offensive prowess. Giratina. (you should mention why specifically hp instead of speed investment; does hp invest do something especially productive besides just "increasing bulk"? is speed invest not worth doing for x reason? etc)

Primal Groudon works best on bulky offense teams, (AC) which appreciate its ability to force 50-50s coinflip scenarios against slower teams and create momentum for offensive teammates. Prankster Giratina benefits Primal Groudon greatly by Imposter-proofing it thanks to its massive physical bulk and V-create resistance. Additionally, as Since opposing Prankster Giratina is Primal Groudon's most common switch-in, Huge Power Dark-types which that can remove it with Pursuit, such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Tyranitar, and Yveltal, are valuable partners for it; they can also heavily damage most Choice item offensive + (i'd imagine all choice item stag users are offensive? ignore this if im wrong though) Shadow Tag users, (AC) which pick a weakened Primal Groudon off. In particular, Mega Gyarados is a great partner, great, as it can also come in on switch into an opposing Shell Smash Primal Groudon if healthy and force it out with Water Shuriken. Wonder Guard Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard users allow Primal Groudon to come in safely with a Substitute, giving it the ability to avoid attacks from offensive Pokemon, like opposing Primal Groudon and Protean Mega Latios, in a one-on-one situation. helping it beat offensive Pokemon like opposing Primal Groudon and Protean Mega Latios one-on-one. In particular, Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas has great utility in forcing Prankster Giratina and most Magic Bounce users out with Moonblast, (AC) and being able to it can run a diverse array of support options in its filler moveslot, such as Stealth Rock, Defog, Aromatherapy, paralysis support in Glare, Dark Void, Taunt, and even Wish and or Shell Smash support for Primal Groudon. Special Mold Breaker users, especially more powerful ones like Mega Latios, Mega Diancie, Choice Specs Mega Rayquaza, and Dialga, are also good partners due to their ability to can force Giratina out after Primal Groudon uses U-Turn. U-turn. Paralysis support from the likes of Prankster Giratina, as well as select support Wonder Guard users, can make Primal Groudon even more threatening through allowing it to accrue free turns, as well as force out by providing free turns. Also, Primal Groudon can force out paralyzed, once-faster (is this whole addition what you meant? if not, please clarify) offensive threats like Mega Gengar, Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y lacking a Choice Scarf, Mega Latios, and special Mega Rayquaza. Shadow Tag users can work well with Primal Groudon variants running Knock Off, Knock Off Primal Groudon, as the likes of Wonder Guard Primal Kyogre and bulky Gastro Acid + Wonder Guard users like Arceus are secondary switch-ins to it. Entry hazard setters, such as Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard users, defensive Wonder Guard users, or and bulky Mold Breaker teammates, (AC) can help bolster Primal Groudon's offensive prowess, as the additional chip damage from Stealth Rock affects Primal Groudon's KO (I imagine?) rolls in a wide variety of instances. Defensive Wonder Guard users can provide Defog and Aromatherapy support, minimizing the chip that Primal Groudon takes from switching in and keeping it keeping Primal Groudon healthy over the course of a game.

Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon can use Glare, Nuzzle, or Thunder Wave as disruption, as once opposing Giratina is fully paralyzed, suffers full paralysis, Primal Groudon usually grabs a KO; however, running paralysis makes properly Imposter-proofing more difficult. Sheer Cold is another option; while it is inherently luck-dependent, over the course of across a game it has a good chance of eliminating opposing Giratina, making Shell Smash Primal Groudon much more threatening for the rest of the game. Diamond Storm, on top of potentially increasing Primal Groudon's physical bulk, is then becomes necessary to hit Flying-types like Mega Rayquaza, Ho-Oh, and Yveltal after replacing ___, (fill in the blank with one or multiple moves as appropriate; I imagine this makes sense?) all of which it can OHKO after Shell Smash. However, the additional utility gained from having 3 two (bc i assume shell smash and an attack consume two moveslots?) support moves makes running these moves not worth it most of the time. Sacred Fire is an option over King's Shield or V-create, spreading burns against offensive switch-ins as well as and OHKOing Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard Xerneas after a Shell Smash, but it does not synergize well with Spore or Dark Void and only slightly helps against opposing Giratina. U-Turn U-turn can be used to allow for Shell Smash Primal Groudon to force opposing Giratina in and retain momentum, taking advantage of Thousand Arrows' virtually perfect Arrows's virtually-perfect coverage and Primal Groudon's incredible offensive prowess even when unboosted; it also 2HKOes opposing Huge Power Mega Gyarados, a popular switch-in. However, without a teammate that can cripple opposing handle and punish Giratina, especially a Huge Power Dark-types like Mega Gyarados, Mega Tyranitar, and or Yveltal, Primal Groudon still (I imagine this makes sense?) has trouble breaking through opposing Giratina. Running Knock Off allows boosted Shell Smash Primal Groudon to threaten Giratina not running Griseous Orb harder when boosted, and lacking Griseous Orb more, and it synergizes well with Spore by removing Safety Goggles; however, this leaves Primal Groudon exceptionally difficult to Imposter-proof. Safety Goggles allows Primal Groudon to win the 1v1 one-on-one against Mega Gengar, Mold Breaker Arceus, and Dialga running Spore and prevents Prankster Spore Giratina from crippling it, but usually isn't worth it Spore, and it blocks Spore from Prankster Giratina, but it usually isn't worthwhile over Lum Berry. Earth Plate is a fringe option that allows Primal Groudon to OHKO opposing Primal Groudon not running bulk investment with Thousand Arrows; Life Orb lets Primal Groudon OHKO Primal Groudon lacking HP investment with Thousand Arrows as well as do the same and (I imagine this works?) OHKO bulky Primal Groudon variants after Stealth Rock. However, running an item that aids Shell Smash Primal Groudon's longevity, such as Leftovers, aids its sweep, like Mental Herb, or prevents status from affecting it, removes status, like Lum Berry, is usually more worthwhile. Shell Smash Primal Groudon can opt to invest more in Speed at the cost of bulk; 56 Speed EVs allow Primal Groudon to outspeed Choice Scarf Shadow Tag Primal Groudon after a Shell Smash, 148 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed Deoxys-Speed after a boost, and maximum Speed investment (with an Adamant nature) allows Primal Groudon to outspeed opposing outspeeds Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X, and Mega Gengar, as well as Wonder Guard Mega Manectric, and Mega Manectric (or did you mean "...and Mega Gengar, as well as Mega Manectric after a Shell Smash and V-create."?) after a Shell Smash and V-create.

Choice Band, Band + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon has nearly as much set versatility as Shell Smash + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon does. Sacred Fire can be run to provide burn support over multiple uses, which is especially important as because Primal Groudon can slowly wear burned Prankster Giratina down with Thousand Arrows if it lacks Leftovers; it is also a powerful STAB move in its own right, being a near-guaranteed 2HKO against Wonder Guard Cresselia, Slaking, and Arceus (RC) while 2HKOing Mega Audino. Water Shuriken specifically targets Shell Smash Primal Groudon and Mold Breaker Mega Diancie, as well as opposing weakened Choice Band Primal Groudon and Mold Breaker Mega Tyranitar, though it's difficult to justify using, (AC) as it's nigh useless outside of matchups against these Pokemon. nigh-useless otherwise. Diamond Storm can be run to OHKO standard Mega Rayquaza, Yveltal, and Ho-Oh, but Thousand Arrows usually hits hard enough with a Choice Band, especially with Stealth Rock support, that running Diamond Storm isn't necessary. Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes are options which can be useful when forcing Giratina in, but they are momentum sinks, especially when Choice Band on Primal Groudon is revealed. Recover can also be used on the switch, greatly helping Primal Groudon's longevity, but it is much more difficult to use against a team with Shadow Tag users, and the opportunity cost of not running coverage or support is high. Glare and Nuzzle are options to can paralyze opposing Giratina when it comes in, forcing mind games and luck gambles the next time Primal Groudon comes in. Alternative EV spreads of 232 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 20 Spe, 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe, and 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe with an Adamant nature can be run. The first spread speedcreeps outspeeds standard Shell Smash Mold Breaker Primal Groudon, Mega Tyranitar, and Dialga, the second creeps outspeeds uninvested Yveltal (RC) and Xerneas, and the final one outspeeds Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Mewtwo X, and Mega Gengar after Sticky Web. However, even when running the first spread, (AC) it's quite risky to stay in against Pokemon Primal Groudon is meant to outspeed when it's weakened, and the other two spreads lose out on bulk. A Jolly nature could be run with ____ Speed EVs (fill in the blank; i assume it's a non-0 amount of evs bc you say "misses out on bulk") to outspeed all Shell Smash Primal Groudon and Dialga variants, Mold Breaker Xerneas, and slower Mega Latios spreads, but it also misses out on bulk and fails to reliably OHKO opposing Wonder Guard Slaking, Arceus, Cresselia, and Mega Audino after Stealth Rock.

Checks and Counters
===================

Additionally, niche Haze sets cannot be PP stalled by Shell Smash like Encore variants can be by Shell Smash, though they have a much more difficult time checking special Mold Breakers Breaker users, which threaten Giratina unboosted. However, Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets running Dark Void can power through Giratina, and Choice Band + Mold Breaker variants running Beat Up can cripple gash it after a single prediction, so running Prankster Giratina as the only check isn't recommended.

**Imposter users**: Due to its general reliance on Thousand Arrows, Mold Breaker Shell Smash + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon is notoriously difficult to Imposter-proof. Eviolite Imposter users are especially difficult for Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon to deal with, as despite having to win a speed Speed tie if Primal Groudon stays in, (AC) they can force a switch into Giratina, which ___ . (specify a bit if possible why being forced into giratina is bad. eg "which is very passive." "which risks wearing it down for (x future use)" etc.) Choice Scarf Imposter users are slightly more manageable, as they are stuck using Thousand Arrows or V-Create, V-create, but are still very threatening nonetheless. However, even (I imagine, given "Choice Scarf Imposter users" generalization later?) Choice Scarf + Imposter Chansey is 2HKOed by Choice Band Primal Groudon's Thousand Arrows, so Choice Scarf Imposter users cannot switch in reliably.

**Huge Power Mega Gyarados**: Mega Gyarados is bulky enough to come in on unboosted Primal Groudon, and can force 50-50s it can force coinflip scenarios with Water Shuriken and a Huge Power-boosted Pursuit; however, this mindgame mind game is somewhat eased if Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon runs King's Shield, and Mega Gyarados is incentivized into using to use Water Shuriken, as Primal Groudon staying in on Pursuit would prove disastrous. Additionally, Water Shuriken requires 3 three hits to KO healthy unboosted Primal Groudon running standard spreads if EV spreads, assuming Mega Gyarados isn't running a boosting item, so item. Therefore, even when a correct prediction is done, (AC) Primal Groudon can maybe heavily damage Mega Gyarados, and remove heavily damaged ones, with Thousand Arrows.

**Other Revenge Killers**: Other Revenge Killers revenge killers can also threaten Primal Groudon, though they struggle to do so to the same extent that Mega Gyarados is able to. as Mega Gyarados. Although they dislike switching into Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon multiple times, Refrigerate Mega Abomasnow and Kyurem-B, Aerilate or Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza, and Huge Power Slaking or Regigigas running Water Shuriken can force unboosted Primal Groudon out if healthy. However, all but Mega Abomasnow and special Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza, and Slaking or Regigigas with Water Shuriken and a boosting item, will fail to reliably force out boosted Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon with King's Shield, and only Shield. Also, only Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza can reliably come in on Choice Band Primal Groudon if healthy. Some Choice Scarf + No Guard users, like Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Aerodactyl, and Deoxys-S, outspeed any Primal Groudon even after a Shell Smash, so they can reliably force Primal Groudon out after either coming in on a prediction, with pivoting support, (AC) or after a teammate has fainted; however, fainted. However, weakened Choice Scarf + No Guard users can get KOed by fall to rare Choice Band + Mold Breaker variants running Extreme Speed. Additionally, Choice Scarf + Shadow Tag users, like Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo Y, can outspeed Choice Band + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon, as well as slower Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets even after a boost, and OHKO with a special Water-type move; move. Choice Band + Shadow Tag Mega Mewtwo X sets running Precipice Blades can also remove Choice Band Primal Groudon sets, as well as revenge (RC) killling unboosted Shell Smash Primal Groudon sets, with minimal chip damage.

**Faster Hard Hitters**: In a 1v1 one-on-one scenario, faster Pokemon that are sufficiently strong, such as Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X, Protean Mega Latios, or and Choice Specs Mega Mewtwo Y or Mega Rayquaza, can force Primal Groudon out. Additionally, offensive Shadow Tag users running moves that can threaten unboosted Primal Groudon, such as Mega Latios running Earth Power, Scald, or Steam Eruption, Mega Mewtwo Y running Steam Eruption, or Choice Scarf Mega Rayquaza and Choice Band Mega Aerodactyl with Crabhammer, will usually trap and eliminate it if it is unboosted. (you already talk about offensive shadow tag users in the above section. feel free to move any info you wish from here to there as long as it isn't redundant) While a healthy Mold Breaker Primal Groudon can switch into (RC) and threaten (RC) offensive Wonder Guard users, some Wonder Guard Shell Smash + Wonder Guard users, such as Xerneas or Mega Gardevoir running Earth Power and Mega Lucario, can reliably OHKO Primal Groudon after a Shell Smash. Wonder Guard Mega Gardevoir running Grass Knot or Spooky Plate + Judgment will also still (I imagine this makes sense?) OHKO even bulky Primal Groudon variants after a Shell Smash and Stealth Rock chip.

**Water-type Coverage**: Pokemon that Primal Groudon often switches in on, like Xerneas, Wonder Guard Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Manectric, can run Water-type moves to catch it off guard and OHKO it; however, this issue is they are largely circumvented by running Substitute + Baton Pass support and adequately scouting for such moves.

**Grass-type Primordial Sea Users**: While very rare, Primordial Sea Grass-types like Leavanny, Tangrowth, and Chesnaught can come in on standard Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon and wall it easily. However, some Grass-types, like Leavanny, are susceptible to being Pursuit trapped by partners like Mega Gyarados, and only Chesnaught can act as is a long-term check to Choice Band + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon.

(you should mention why specifically hp instead of speed investment; does hp invest do something especially productive besides just "increasing bulk"? is speed invest not worth doing for x reason? etc) The hp investment lets you live hits certain -ate speed mons like mega abomasnow, as well as not instantly being decimated by mega gyarados pursuit as you switch. it does 75% minimum without bulk, and 64% min with it. The extra hp is useful for not getting worn down as quickly by rocks and spikes

Also, Primal Groudon can force out paralyzed, once-faster (is this whole addition what you meant? if not, please clarify) i dont think i can answer this because im not mbouchon, but this seems pretty accurate to how its played offensive threats like Mega Gengar, Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y lacking a Choice Scarf, Mega Latios, and special Mega Rayquaza.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Diamond Storm, on top of potentially increasing Primal Groudon's physical bulk, becomes necessary to hit Flying-types like Mega Rayquaza, Ho-Oh, and Yveltal after replacing king's shield or spore/dark void, (fill in the blank with one or multiple moves as appropriate; I imagine this makes sense?) Im not entirely sure what the meaning of this is, but i interpreted it as "which moves are you getting rid of for diamond storm." lemme know if thats wrong all of which it can OHKO after Shell Smash.

A Jolly nature could be run with 252 Speed EVs (fill in the blank; i assume it's a non-0 amount of evs bc you say "misses out on bulk") technically there are some other weird EV spreads that when used with a jolly nature, do the things listed below, like 32 and the aforementioned 76 speed evs. i think he might have meant 252, though. to outspeed all Shell Smash Primal Groudon and Dialga variants, Mold Breaker Xerneas, and slower Mega Latios spreads, but it also misses out on bulk and fails to reliably OHKO opposing Wonder Guard Slaking, Arceus, Cresselia, and Mega Audino after Stealth Rock.

Checks and Counters
===================

Eviolite Imposter users are especially difficult for Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon to deal with, as despite having to win a Speed tie if Primal Groudon stays in, they can force a switch into Giratina, which ___ . (specify a bit if possible why being forced into giratina is bad. eg "which is very passive." "which risks wearing it down for (x future use)" etc.) It loses you momentum, as well as wasting pp that is occasionally useful in endgame. its not uncommon to have to just sit there and wait for them to switch.

**Grass-type Primordial Sea Users**: While very rare, Primordial Sea Grass-types like Leavanny, Tangrowth, and Chesnaught can come in on standard Mold Breaker + Shell Smash Primal Groudon and wall it easily. However, some Grass-types, like Leavanny, are susceptible to being Pursuit trapped by partners like Mega Gyarados, and only Chesnaught is a long-term check to Choice Band + Mold Breaker Primal Groudon.Seeing this is absurdly rare, that might want to be emphasized
