Hello everyone, my dear.
The speaker is Rotom-W, your favorite storytellers.
I will tell you a great story made of princess, dragons and valiant warriors.
I hope that the narrative is to your taste.
"Once upon a time,
in a kingdom far away, there lived a beautiful princess named Chansey.
The pretty girl was very coveted by all young people of the kingdom, but she rejected them one by one in a really SPECIAL.
One day, when the princess was fast asleep in her bed, she was kidnapped by a big bad dragon called Charizard.
The lizard took the Princess on his impregnable castle of sand called Hippodown, and locked in a dungeon.
The king was very concerned about the fate of his daughter, so he issued a proclamation in which it was said, who had brought back the princess, he would take her in marriage.
The proposal was tempting, but no one came forward as fearful of the wrath of Charizard, except one, the brave knight Excadrill.
Excadrill decided leaving to save his beloved princess, but just could not make it to enter the sand castle, so he sought help from a famous magician in the world, the wise Alakazam.
Alakazam decided to go along with the brave warrior as he had an old score to settle with the dragon Charizard.
Once at the castle, Alakazam used a magic formula that allowed the door to open.
Once in the hall of the Dragon, Charizard threatened the two to leave, otherwise they would be roasted with a lot of sauce.
Alakazam used a powerful magic that struck the dragon, thinking of defeating him.
Charizard, however, turned into Charizard X, and said a fiery fist against the magician, defeating him.
Then the proud warrior Excadrill, angry the loss of his dear companion, railed against the dragon in a fight to the death, until you have the better.
Knight then freed the princess, who fell in love at first sight of his savior, and carried her to his castle.
The king kept his promise and made that Excadrill and Chansey were married.
And they all lived happily ever after."
Here is Rotom-W speaking, I hope that the story was to your liking, now I'll explain how the team.
It states that this is the first time I write in this section, so I hope I do not make mistakes and not to make a bad impression: D
The Sand Castle (Hippowdon) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
Building my team is playing implantation of two walls, one physical and one special, which could cover a good portion of the metagame. So my team is built around Hippodown and Chansey.
I chose Hippodown as physical wall for several reasons:
1) evokes the sand that does, in the long run, major damage to the pokemon passive opponents and break the sash;
2) has very high HP and physical defense and only has three weaknesses 2x which are uncommon to find in physical attackers (except Ice Punch);
3) sets the stealth rock, put away the pokemon that are enhanced with Roar or WW, you can use Slack Off to restore 50% of its life and has a good attacking move in Earthquake.
With the rocky helmet, he makes many damages payable to other pokemon.
The only physical attackers who manage to dent are Azumarill and Gyarados.
In addition, very resistant even to Ice Punch Conkeldurr.
252+ Atk Iron Fist Conkeldurr Ice Punch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Hippowdon: 146-174 (34.8 - 41.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 Atk Mega Lopunny Ice Punch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Hippowdon: 110-130 (26.2 - 31%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
It is not very rare situation in which I send in the field Hippowdon on a physical attacker as MLop and Conk, I spout several Ice Punch, in the meantime, I care with Slack Off and inflict damage payable with Rocky Helmet.
The situation is different with or Azumarill Gyarados that create many headaches, especially with CBAzumarill and + 1DD Gyarados or MGyarados.
252+ ATK Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 248 HP / Def 252+ Hippowdon: 306-362 (73 - 86.3%) - guaranteed 2HKO
252+ ATK Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 248 HP / Def 252+ Hippowdon: 204-242 (48.6 - 57.7%) - 95.3% chance to 2HKO
252+ ATK vs. Gyarados Waterfall 248 HP / Def 252+ Hippowdon: 180-212 (42.9 - 50.5%) - 1.6% chance to 2HKO
+1 252+ ATK vs. Gyarados Waterfall 248 HP / Def 252+ Hippowdon: 270-318 (64.4 - 75.8%) - guaranteed 2HKO
Unfortunately with these Pokemon I can not use as check Hippowdon
The Princess (Chansey) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Soft-Boiled
- Heal Bell
Chansey is instead the classic set, I do not think there's much to explain.Easily it covers the special attacks of water / ice / grass directed at Hippo, and in turn is covered by physical attacks.
I preferred toxic to weaken more pokemon opponents at random.
Finally, Chansey also suffers very little sand because of the possibility to be treated very easily when it enters the attackers special.
The Dragoon (Charizard-Mega-X) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
Classic set of Charizard X. I preferred nature Jolly to make sure outspeedare, after having danced once, the scarfed Pokemon with base speed of less than 100.
EQ is for Heatran and for Azumarill weakened.
I Prefer Dragon Claw instead Outrage not to block the advance of the dragon dance.
Instead my doubt is higher among Flare Blitz and Fire Punch. For a long time I used Flare Blitz, but I noticed that my dragon died very easily with the backlash.
While with Fire Punch lasts much longer and, after a dance more skill Tough Claw, is still serious damage, OHOKing many pokemon.
I chose as Charizard X mega for several reasons:
Fire Dragon is an excellent offensive coverage, does not suffer from the WOW, and then can easily counteract the Sableye enemies that could cause several problems to the rest of my team.
Charizard can dance easily on many common Pokemon without being killed: Rotom W, Heatran, Ferrothorn (if not TWave), etc.
After a dance, you can virtually open the abyss team opponents.
And, anyway, if I foresee a switch-on in the field of Landorus-T, one of the largest and most common check Charizard X, I can not dance and hit him with a Dragon Claw to weaken it, and then replace with Hippodown Charizard.
An example:
-1 252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Dragon Claw vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Landorus-T: 91-108 (23.8 - 28.2%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
I still given a free shot at Landorus, that to enter each time with the SR in the field, and with some damage from passive Rocky Helmet of Hippodown slowly gets beat.
The last thing, I have chosen Charizard X because it is too cool
The Storyteller (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 240 Def / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
Even for Rotom W speech does not change.
It 'was made to ensure stability to the team.
Clothes weakness Charizard and Excadrill against Landorus (the opponent will never know for sure whether or send Hippowdon Rotom, and this is an advantage).
It covers weakness to water and frost of Hippo, and the water of Excadrill.
Pain Split is to increase its duration. I preferred the version physical defensive to protect me from the ubiquitous Talonflame.
The Proud Knight (Excadrill) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
Excadrill is a sweeper in perfect coupled with Hippowdon.
I guarantee a great power of begging, speed, excellent resistance to special attacks with AV, and perfect coverage. It is also the main spinner in my team.
This pokemon is perfect, the only flaw is that he, along with Hippo, guarantee an absurd weakness of my team at the Water Pokemon. Keldeo and MGyarados are two Pokemon that cause big problems with my team.
The Magician (Alakazam) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Dazzling Gleam
- Knock Off
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
Why Alakazam?
First it needed a strong Special Sweeper, as well as a good revenge killer.
And Alakazam is great for both. He is immune to the ravages of sand, the SR and Spikes, and the FS has two lives.
He is my answer to Keldeo. Say it is not a definitive answer, because it can not get anything like the shots of the horse, but if the team I see an opponent Keldeo, put Alakazam as Lead and, in case the Lead Keldeo opponent is, I can always replace it with chansey or Hippo .
Analyzing the moves, Psychic prefer to Psyshock because inflicts far more damage to the steel they check Alazakam, as Skarmory and Ferrothorn.
252 SpA Alakazam Psychic vs. 252 HP / 4 spd Skarmory: 101-119 (30.2 - 35.6%) - guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Alakazam Psyshock vs. 252 HP / Def 252+ Skarmory: 38-45 (11.3 - 13.4%) - possibly the worst move ever
Drazzling Geam is for Sableye and Dragons.
Focus Blast is for coverage.
Knock Off is .. To say goodbye to Chansey! The opponent does not expect this, and often this is a definitive move.
Alakazam, also, by virtue of his double life, it makes me a chance to save against those who have used Dragon Dance pokemon or Swords Dance.
In many cases it was the Pokemon that made me win matches.
FINAL REPORT
With this team I'm finding it pretty well, I got 1200 points where I was locked prior to 1400+. It also creates difficulties in players much higher in the rankings and certainly more experienced.
The only problem with this team is suffering too, as I said before, and Keldeo MGyarados.
I thought several times to replace Alakazam with a grass Pokemon like Celebi or Amoongus, but would lose a great special sweeper.
Or to use MVenusar in place of MCharizardX, in such a way as to have a wide coverage.
It would become a much more balanced team, but after suffering a lot Sabley.
So I do not know, I ask you advice on how to improve it without distorting it too.
Hoping that it was not boring and that you've enjoyed the story, I send a warm hug.
