The Fast and The Furious

So I decided to make an offensive team, especially after Salamence and Latias went Uber. I wanted to make my team as fast as possible, along with being quite powerful. I have room to improve so any comments/suggestions would be highly helpful.

THINGS IN RED ARE EDITS

Team Building Process

To start, I knew i needed a fast lead to be able to stop opponents from getting off stealth rocks.

Next, I needed a special sweeper, so I chose Gengar, to replace Alakazam.

Since Alakazam is weak to dark, I needed something that can resist that, so I chose Sharpedo. Some people have told me to use Gyarados instead, but Sharpedo is faster and almost as powerful, it only has 5 base attack less than Gyarados.

Revenge killer Weavile changed to Azelf.

Blaziken changed to Infernape changed to Heatran for a steel type along with a Metagross counter.

And now for some extra type coverage, and another sweeper in general, I chose Electivire. Electivire itself has high attack and massive type coverage, so this seemed to be an excellent addition to my team.

MOVESETS
142.png

Aerodactyl@Focus Sash
Pressure
252 Atk/252 Spe/4 Def
Jolly
-Stealth Rock
-Taunt
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
Aerodactyl is not only an excellent lead with Stealth Rocks or Taunt, but it can also be used as an anti-lead. Most people will try to set up rocks first, but Aerodactyl can take them out with a Taunt followed by a Stone Edge or Earthquake. I seem to find a lot of other Aerodactyl leads who will try to set up Stealth Rocks or Taunt first, but I go for the Stone Edge to take them out. Then when they send in their next, I can set up my rocks and still get an attack off thanks to the focus sash

94.png

Gengar@Choice Scarf
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
Levitate
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-HP Ice
-Focus Blast
Alakazam, my former special sweeper, was changed to Gengar for a Lucario counter, along with a Flygon which is where HP Ice comes from.

319.png

Sharpedo@Choice Band
Rough Skin
252 Atk/252 SpA/4 Def
Jolly
-Crunch
-Waterfall
-Ice Fang
-Earthquake
I found that once Alakazam gets locked into Psychic, a lot of people will send in a Dark type to get around, So I needed something to resist that. Sharpedo was perfect. With its high speed and attack, it can easily take out whatever comes in its path. The choice band allows for extra damage against Dark types, since it can't learn any moves that are super effective. It has pretty good type coverage with this moveset, and I can use Crunch to counter Gengar.

487.png

Azelf@Life Orb
Levitate
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 Hp
Timid
-Fire Blast
-Pyschic
-Grass Knot
-Nasty Plot
Weavile was replaced with Azelf for a better revenge killer and to counter Gyarados

490.png

Heatran@Choice Scarf
Flash Fire
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 SpD
Naive
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Dragon Pulse
-Explosion
Now I saw I had somewhat of a Grass weakness so I needed a Fire type, for Grass counters and some more type coverage. Physical Blaziken changed to Physical Mix Ape changed to Scarftran.

471.png

Electivire@Expert Belt
Motor Drive
252 Atk/252 Spe/4 HP
Jolly
-Cross Chop
-Earthquake
-Thunder Punch
-Ice Punch
To finish the team, I chose Electivire. It can be used as a great sweeper in the beginning of the game to take out a big chunck, our used as a late game comeback thanks to its massive type coverage. The expert belt allows for a lot of extra damage giving the opponent almost no chance of survival. I've found that it can even OHKO a blissey with cross chop after its damaged by stealth rocks.

Thank you for reading over my RMT. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

It seems to me that Gyarados could easily switch in to Weavile, because none of it's moves are super-effective to Gyarados, as well as Gyarados being fairly bulky in general. And, a jolly, +1 Gyarados with 252 Spe could decimate your team.... Try this set instead.

Azelf @ Life Orb
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 Hp
-Fire Blast/Flamethrower
-Pyschic
-Grass Knot/HP Ground/HP Electric
-Uturn/Explosion

This set will pretty much decimate most things as a revenge killer, bar +2 Tyranitar, which Weavile has little hope of defeating anyway. Grass knot should OHKO most variants.

Plus, you have enough physical attackers anyway- you need something special, to kill off pesky Hippowdons.

No problem.

If you want another sweeper, simply replace U-turn/explosion with Nasty Plot- It'll do MASSIVE damage. I, myself, use a NPAzelf on my current team, and it works quite well.

At the top, I saw you're looking for an SD Luke counter: I suggest you replace Alakazam with Gengar. Not only does Gengar not take any damage from SDLuke's Mach Punch or ExtremeSpeed, but it can OHKO it and outspeed it, as well as having superior type coverage. I suggest this set:

Gengar @ Life Orb/Choice Specs/Choice Scarf
252 Sp.A/252 Spe/4 HP
Levitate
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-HP Fire
-Focus Blast

Thanks again for the reply, I am putting in Gengar but instead of HP fire, I'm using HP ice for a Flygon counter. I seem to be running into those a lot lately.

I'm sure you want to keep a fast paced offensive team, but this one has far too many holes in it.

Sharpedo would not need Ice Fang, seeing as it won't outspeed a Scarfed Flygon, and you don't want to stay in with one anyways, as it can kill you with U-Turn. I suggest running Aqua Jet, and make it a priority revenge killer, or replacing it with Gyarados or Starmie.

Heatran was a good switch over Infernape. It gives you some nice steel typing, which your team lacked.

You have Sharpedo and Aerodactyl to attract Electric attacks, but they are frail enough to get OHKOed easily. How about trying a Offensive Dragon Dance Gyarados to go with it? Either that, or replace Electivire with something like Specs Jolteon.

Try this set:

Jolteon @ Choice Specs
Timid Nature
252 Sp. Atk/4 Sp. Def/252 Spe
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-HP Grass
-Baton Pass

Baton Pass lets you scout for incoming Pokemon, and in most scenarios, it is more useful than Electivire.

Good luck!

Would you really switch sharpedo into a dark move? He may resist it, but his defense is so low. I reccommend a bulky gyarados rather than Sharpedo since you compare both. Gyarados can boost and have greater speed than Sharpedo, while having much more power after a dragon dance. I think a CM Suicune or DD Gyarados after a boost can damage this team quite a bit.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, but this team was abandoned. I've already made a new team that is much more balanced and effective.

I feel that your team is very Gengar weak, and even your ghost resist Sharpedo can't take it down, I mean, imagine the Icy Wind Gengar lead, an Icy wind and Shadow ball can take your lead down, and four other pokemon, so, you should reduce your gengar weakness somehow
