With the drop of Crawdaunt down to UU, UU is becoming a tier looming with threats. Set up mons like Feraligatr, Suicune, Reuniclus, and the newest member Crawdaunt every team should come prepared to face these A and S class threats. With the focus on the majority of water threats in the tier I thought of using both Heliolisk and M-Sceptile. Long story short Heliolisk is whack so the one left standing is M-Sceptile whom I built around.
Team: http://pastebin.com/2fPUQxyZ

254.png

Sceptile-Mega @ Sceptilite
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]

M-Sceptile is a powerful mon in the tier demolishing Vaporeon and Suicune as well as taking an Aqua Jet from both Feraligatr and Crawdaunt. The ev's are standard maxing out on Speed and Sp.Atk for maximum performance. I am running HP Fire over Focus Miss cause I don't like missing. Leaf storm and D-Pulse for stab and Giga drain as a secondary grass stab without the drawbacks of -2 Sp.Atk.

319.png

Sharpedo @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Protect
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Crunch

UU has plenty specially defensive mons such as Umbreon, Blissey, Florges, Porygon2, and Snorlax who can eat up a Leaf storm and just rest it off. UU is also full of scarf users like Darmanitan, Mienshao, Infernape, as well as Aerodactyl who can revenge kill M-Sceptile. To deal with these I decided regular Sharpedo would do the job decently. It was also there cause it's f*cking cool tbh. I know there are better ways to handle these mons but I wanted Sharpedo cause it's much cooler but unfortunately I have to run Aqua jet do so. But otherwise Sharpedo and M-Sceptile are my core.

260.png

Swampert @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Roar

I decided to add Swampert onto the team to help take on things like Darmanitan so I wouldn't always had to rely on Sharpedo to pick them off. Swampert also helps deal with M-Beedrill as well as M-Aerodactyl which threatens M-Sceptile. The set is a Smogon suggested set with Roar to shuffle the opponent's team and as a back up plan against set up mons i.e. Reuniclus.

671.png

Florges @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect
- Wish
- Aromatherapy
- Moonblast

After Swampert I wanted a specially defensive mon who could take on Hydreigon which threatens all three members of my team if scarf. So I added in Florges to alleviate that. Florges also has a OK synergy with Swampert. With access to Wish Florges can WishPass it onto Swampert while Swampert takes on Fire, Poison, and Steel types Florges cannot face.

143.png

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 144 HP / 188 Def / 176 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Body Slam
- Curse
- Rest

Originally I had Porygon2 on this slot but with the current members in the team I noticed I was very susceptible to stall so I decided to add in CurseLax as a potential win con as well as breaking stall and 1v1 most Calm Minders other than Focus Blast Reuniclus. Snorlax also helps deal with the Nido-Twins which Florges cannot deal on her own. Snorlax is running Earthquake to deal with Doublade since I can potentially lose to it if Swampert goes down or is severely weakened. The ev's are a standard Smogon suggested spread.

169.png

Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 120 HP / 176 Atk / 212 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Defog
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Cross Poison

Crobat was added in the last slot for its access to Defog and providing another fighting resist onto the team. This set is a bit customized to take on Florges. 176 ev's allows Crobat to 2HKO Florges after rocks. 212 ev's in speed to outspeed +1 Feraligatr and the rest are thrown in HP.

________________________________________________________________________________________

P.S: The team has no good way to take down a well played M-Aggron and/or other steel types other than scald burns from Swampert or having to resort to Snorlax to beat them 1v1 with Earthquake. The team also struggles a bit from Trick users like Chandelure and Rotom-C. Magneton has a field day with this team Snorlax being the only switch in.

Hi.
  • Zapdos > Crobat would be a good place to start. Gives you a better chance against non-stone edge Cobalion, Lucario and doesn't make you overly reliant on Mega Sceptile as your answer to bulky water-types
  • However, this change removes a pretty important Fairy-type resist as well as making you weaker to Mega Beedrill. To remedy this consider changing Escavalier > Sharpedo.
  • Swampert should have Leftovers > Rocky Helmet. Swampert really likes the passive recovery especially because it doesn't have a reliable source of recovery and is completely dependent on Florges to keep it healthy. This allows it to be a sturdier Fire answer as well.
  • Snorlax doesn't need Earthquake anymore with the addition of Zapdos, so you could replace this slot with Crunch / Pursuit. The only reason why you would use Pursuit > Crunch is if you want to nab Chandelure, which as you said is a nuisance to your team. Crunch allows you to get off more damage against ghost types.
  • Focus Blast > Hidden Power Fire on Sceptile. Hidden Power does nothing for your team. You aren't weak to Doublade and you aren't weak to Whimsicott or Forretress either. Focus Blast is better for getting off more damage and securing KOs against stuff like Lucario / Cobalion.

**Crawdaunt is still pretty threatening, so if you wanted to try a lure run 96 speed on Florges. This is optional. It outspeeds Adamant Crawdaunt so you can easily remove it. However, this sacrifices a lot of bulk and leaves you more susceptible to specs kyurem and the likes.

Escavalier @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 56 Atk / 204 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Megahorn
- Iron Head
- Knock Off
- Protect

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Toxic / Hidden Power Grass
- Roost
- Defog

Hope this helped.

Hey man, cool looking team, its always cool to see regular shark running around as it's as big as a threat as the mega version. But I do have a couple of small recommendations.

  • First off, I do like Cyndequil's Zapdos and Escavalier changes so I'd definitely recommend putting those in, as they do help you with a lot of threats. Cynde also went in the right direction with subbing in Lefties over Rocky Helmet on Swampert as well as Focus Blast on Mega Sceptile to hit common mons like Snorlax and Porygon2. Here's my variation of the Zapdos set, they're kind of different, mine providing Volt Switch to provide some momentum but they perform pretty much the same job.
    zapdos.gif

    Zapdos @ Leftovers
    Ability: Pressure
    EVs: 248 HP / 16 SpA / 244 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Volt Switch
    - Heat Wave
    - Roost
    - Defog

  • Next, I'd like to optimize the EV spreads and natures a bit.
    • On Florges, I'd highly recommend using a 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpDef with a Bold Nature. This is your primary Fighting-type check, and you also have another (and better imo) special wall in Snorlax to deal with some of the bigger threats like the Nidos
    • Secondly, on Snorlax, I'd recommend running 4 Speed, so the spread would look something like 144 HP / 184 Def / 176 SpD / 4 Spe to outspeed other Curselax in the event it's a 1v1 between them
That's pretty much it for my recommendations, I hope you consider them and good luck with your team!

Hello thanks for the suggestion. As for your suggestion Zapdos > Crobat I would still like to test this team more before changing crobat over zapdos beacause crobat provides a much needed way to weaken Florges for my M-Sceptile but if my team has major problems against Cobalion and/or Lucario Zapdos will be implemented. As for Escavalier > Sharpedo I have explained why I added Sharpedo onto the team and escavalier does the exact opposite of I wanted. Escavalier may help against fairy types and possibly M-Beedrill but Crobat already does the job. For your suggestion over Focus Miss > HP Fire I actually will implement it since M-Aggron is a bit of a problem. Rocky helmet was thrown onto Swampert on a whim and I want to try this out more before deciding to switch over to Leftovers.

Um all those defensive mons you mentioned? Set up fodder for snorlax. All those scarf mons you mentioned? Handled between zapdos and swampert. You arent missing out on much. As for zapdos removing a way to deal with fairies, escavalier provides exactly that.

LOL. you didn't have type it in a way that makes you sound like a jackass but yes I realize that Zapdos + Escavalier provides a lot for my team but personally I'm not willing to swap out Sharpedo for Escavalier. Replacing Crobat for Zaddos is a possibility but then there's no good way to handle fairy types.................................................... Thus we are back to this problem here--------^^
Now that I think about it Escavalier does sound very cool on the team NGL. I will think about it.

Nah, jk I'll swap 'em out 'cause Escavalier sounds banging.
