Hi, smogon! I really like the idea of an apocalypse-based theme so I made one. I got the idea from X-Men comics and maybe, the bible - meh. Who cares? I had a protoype team rated in r/stunfisk and I had good responses. Maybe, I'll get new inputs here.
Anyway, here goes my team: The team that will lay apocalyptic waste on the world as we know it!
Pestilence (Roserade) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Poison Point
- Toxic Spikes
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Sleep Powder
Description: The harbinger of plague and disease. Her primary role is to infect and stall. Hopefully, by the time Pestilence's gone, the hazards have been set and enemies have been poisoned/powdered. Her goal is to set up two layers of Toxic Spikes. For nasty Fairy types or Ground types, she has Sludge Bomb and Giga Drain.
Side note: I initially toyed with having Dragalge as Pestilence, with Dragon Tail, Venoshock and Toxic Spikes; but, I realized that Roserade is faster and has a better movepool. It's a shame because Dragalge has a nice design and I really wanted him on my team.
Famine (Goodra) (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Dragon Tail
Description: The gooey pink slug-dragon that will eat all the grass type moves. His role is to decimate grass walls like Ferrothorn (who try to seed or drain Tyranitar/Blastoise) and shell-smashing Cloysters (when given the chance) with Fire Blast, maim flying types with Thunderbolt, and phaze the opponent's team to infect everyone with toxic spikes. Draco Meteor is his ace in the hole when has to switch out or die, for slower or dragon-dancing Dragon-types.
War (Tyranitar) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
Description: The angry dinosaur that will bring about a stream of blood and sand. Her role is to put on a sand storm (chip damage), to crunch at Psychic and Ghost threats to Pestilence (Roserade), to wall the almighty Talonflame (god, I hate that bird as much as I love its design) with Stealth Rock, to Ice Beam unsuspecting Landorus, Salamence and similar types (Dragon, Ground and Flying), and to Earthquake everything else.
Death @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Rain Dish
EVs: 236 HP / 252 SpA / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Water Pulse
- Dark Pulse
- Aura Sphere
Description: The Turtle of Death. His role is to sweep the road for the coming of En Sabah Nur (Volcarona) through Rapid Spin, attack and confuse walls like Heatran and Charizard-Y, and spinners like Excadrill with Water Pulse, surprise spinblockers like Gengar and Jellicient with Dark Pulse, and kill the other pink blob (Chansey/Blissey) with Aura Sphere.
The Beast/Antichrist (Clefable) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
Description: Who would have thought that the Antichrist is an unassuming pink blob of doom? His role is to heal the horsemen (Wish and Heal Bell), to ensure his survival by Protect, and to Moonblast Dragon types that don't OHKO him.
I usually switch him around throughout the fight to tank hits that'd otherwise kill my other members, kill/force a switch, then heal the other members.
En Sabah Nur (Volcarona) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 12 SpD
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Roost
- Bug Buzz
Description: The goddess of fire and almighty destruction. She will be my primary sweeper, bulkier and more balanced to take care of what's left of what Famine (Goodra) and Pestilence (Roserade) has weakened.
After a few Quiver Dances, she can pretty much OHKO most neutral and type-vulnerable mons. These usually include Lati@s, Metagross, Skarmory, Tyranitar.
So... That's about it. I usually send out either Tyranitar or Roserade first to set up shop depending on my opponents. The mid-game battlers are either Blastoise or Goodra, and the finishing blows come from Clefairy and Volcarona.
The biggest threats I face are Brave Bird users like Talonflame; and Mega Pinsir and dancing Mega Charizard-X.
I have Excadrill, Dragalge and Trevenant, as reserves and use them depending on my mood. They were replaced by Tyranitar, Goodra and Blastoise, respectively.
So... what do you think? Rate my team!
