Rejected The GG button!

After a game on Pokémon Showdown, it is polite (but not necessary) to say gg (good game) afterwards. It's quick and simple on desktop, but on mobile it takes more time, and your opponent is likely to leave before you can type it (at least it is the case for me).

I kinda want to both up the gg ratio on showdown as well as make it easier for everyone to say it, so here's a quick mock-up of something I'd call the GG button!

(I would upload the gif here but smogon says 5.76mb is too large of a filesize and the tumblr media insert doesn't work.)

Shows up on the after-game screen, disappears when clicked, shows GG to the opponent. Simple, easy, reliable. Multiple versions could be made for multiple languages too, and chat text could say something like "(USERNAME) declares good game!" or something like that.

Obviously the final design could be much, much different from what is shown here. I used the Power Clear font, and went with a nice pink for friendliness. If you want, I can grant you the assets upon request.

Please let me know what you think!

Sorry for the late reply

If people don't already type gg, what makes you think they'll press a button for it?
This seems like one of those "is it really worth the effort it'd take to make it" scenarios (especially given typing GG is already pretty quick.)

On mobile, wishing GG into the chat is a pain. You have to click the chat button, click the chat box, wait for your keyboard to pop up and then type gg, if your opponent hasn't left already. You can check if he has left by skipping the last turn animation, pressing the chat button and scrolling down the entire battle log, which takes around 3-5 seconds if you didn't get a lucky 1-mon sweep in ranbats. Leaving the battle on mobile takes half a second. Pressing "Skip to End" then "GG" also takes half a second, and is a lot more visual to a mobile player than scrolling all the way down in the chat.

This request is coming from someone who mostly plays showdown on an iPhone 8. I recorded the example on PC because it was more convenient.

What about a Hi gl hf button or a how are you button not necessarily but still i think its a cool idea.
Have a good day

I suppose this would fall more into "emote" territory? Not opposed to it, could even be fun. Some limited pre-made showdown emotes can go a long way in communication, and transcends the language barrier.:bellipog:

This is just pure feature bloat to me, its really easy to just type GG into chat.

It is feature bloat on desktop, but it facilitates communication a lot more on mobile. The main driving point for this was mostly speed of doing it on mobile, since battle chat sucks there.
