This team is a variation of my previous RMT, I wanted to keep the original team because it worked well but I also wanted to shift the play style a little bit towards the old teams weakness', namely trick room and sleep spam (sleep spam is still annoying but it plays better against it then the last version.

No ladder peak yet, still going so this is more of a help me thread than the last one.

The Team

shaymin-sky.gif
aegislash.gif
scrafty.gif
landorus-therian.gif
rotom-wash.gif

The base of this team was to cripple physical attackers with Intimidate/U-turn/Fake Out wars. I like the fast paced play of the team, have some solid switch ins and have been having alot of fun playing with it.
Mega Kangaskhan

Jewellery Bonney (Kangaskhan) (F) @ Kangaskhanite
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 12 SpD / 112 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Low Kick
- Ice Punch

Named after the pirate captain who eats everything, just like the overpowered kangaroo. I can't remember exactly what the EVs do here, but in a game with Level 51, I lived a +2 Khan Sucker Punch with 1% which saved me the game.

Pretty standard move set, Ice Punch has put in alot of work, although I'm starting to see the appeal of sucker punch. I put Low Kick on there to deal with the TTars and Trans running around, OHKOs other Mega Khans most of the time too.
Shaymin-Sky

Tony Tony Chopper (Shaymin-Sky) @ Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Air Slash
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Protect

Fast and powerful, this slot was originally taken by a bulkier than average Zapdos using light screen, but lacked offence, so I swapped it to a goggles Togekiss for sleep control, but it didn't work. I pulled the Skymin I was using in my old team and put it in, and it seemed to help alot.

Standard Skymin coverage, Life Orb allows for timid nature to get that speed.
Aegislash

Meitou; Shusui (Aegislash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Substitute
- King's Shield

Named after Pirate Hunter Zoro's blade, given to him by the Undead Samurai. I added this to deal with the developing Trick Room weakness, which it has done so very well. Sub with leftovers is amazing, if you can predict right you can throw people off by subbing in blade from while they use what they thought was a protect turn for a free switch. Dual STABs kill 90% of TR setters after a fake out.
Scrafty

BlackBeard (Scrafty) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 240 HP / 224 Atk / 44 Def
Impish Nature
- Fake Out
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch

Evil master of darkness, makes up the first part of the intimidate/fake out core. Assault Vest with intimidate is amazing on its own, but fake out makes it even better. One of my favourite mons, it doesn't hit as hard as I'd like it to but it can switch into alot.

Knock Off is for the sitrus berries and leftovers and whatnot, Drain Punch makes it live longer and get more stat drops off. Ice punch threatens alot and it can stand up to hits from things it needs to and strike back.
Landorus-Therian

WhiteBeard (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 216 Atk / 84 Def / 208 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Rock Slide
- Explosion

Master of EarthQuakes, intimidate, and the boom button. U turn is for scouting and pairing with scrafty to cripple physicals.

EQ/Rock Slide are the standards, while Explosion allows me to pair well with Aegi if Lando is going to die and wants to help before it goes.
Rotom Wash

Jinbei (Rotom-Wash) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 36 Def / 96 SpA / 124 SpD
Calm Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

EVs live the usual SolarBeam business, and Kangs common attacks. Burns the physicals, kills the Talons, and lets Lando EQ away as much as it wants.

Also a nice switch in for alot, sitrus lets it go way longer.

Replays

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogondoubles-160331377 vs ViolinCore Both teams waging intimidate wars

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogondoubles-160339685 vs DarkZami This one is only a few turns long, but I have issues playing against rain and I was happy with how I managed to shut it down almost completely.

Like I said, I'm looking for ways to patch this one up alot, and changing mons isn't out of the question so fire away :)

You have a lot of really good Pokémon! I really love Sub Aegislash on your team. Some weaknesses I notice:
  • Other than Aegislash, your team is somewhat weak to fairy spam
  • Your team is weak to most trick room and rain teams, despite Scrafty and Aegislash.
  • You lack priority other than Fake Out
This team was a bit difficult to rate, but I'm confident that my suggestions will help you a lot.

1) Put Sucker Punch over Ice Punch on Kangaskhan. You already have Ice Punch on Scrafty, and priority is extremely important to Mega Kangaskhan's usefulness. While it does deal with Landorus-T, I feel like you have a lot of great checks and counters for dealing with it. Rotom-W shits all over it and Amoonguss can live any one hit and Spore it, for example.
2) Use Amoonguss instead of Skymin. I thought about this for a long time, and it's the only thing that helps with all three things I listed above. Amoonguss can Spore pretty freely under Trick Room, wall and Spore a lot of rain pokemon, and still resists Fighting. You can also use Rage Powder to draw Rotom-W's attacks and fighting attacks in general. It does a much better job alongside Mega Kangaskhan than Skymin does. They handle similar threats. While you do lose the power to take on most Grass-types and you lose Earth Power, gaining a Heatran weakness, I feel like it's worth it in the long run to deal with all the things I mentioned above.
3) Fix up your Aegislash spread a little bit. You're running 4 Atk with no attacking moves and -Spe. This is problematic. Here's the spread I recommend:
EVs: 236 HP / 252 SpA / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
236 HP hits a leftovers number, getting you the most recovery out of a single turn. The rest is dumped into speed to win against Aegislash mirrors. Since you have sub, you should be going first instead of last in order to knock out something without your sub being broken.

Hope I helped! I've never used Explosion Lando-T, but if it's working for you, that's great.

PS: Where did you get your nicknames from? I feel like they're from One Piece, but I've never watched it.

Amoonguss @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 76 Def / 180 SpD
Calm Nature
- Spore
- Rage Powder
- Protect
- Giga Drain

The random 4 EVs on Aegi was an accident that kept sticking on team builder for some reason, guess it did it again when I copied.

I had Amoonguss on the team before Skymin, took it off for offence. I'll try it again with the mushroom and see how it goes now I know how to play the team better.

The names are from one piece, I had some cool pictures to go with them but I was getting errors on the images so I gave up because I wanted team advice over art lol.

I'll swap the Aegi spread over now, thanks Dash.
