The Green-Cheese-Storm! (OU RMT)

Cheese is my power and green is the color of my cheese that shall bring "faint" upon your Pokemon! Actually, I am attempting to ask politely for help from you so I can eventually bring "faint" upon your Pokemon! My lack of people skills aside, I would greatly appreciate whatever advice you can give. Oh and I am also looking for people to play against so please send me a private message and we can exchange friend codes to battle sometime in the future! Without further adieu I Macc the Cheesemage would like to present my team!

Bottomless
Hiphopopotamus-vs-Rhymenoceros.jpg

Bottomless: #450 Hippowdon, Impish, Rindo Berry
252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD
(Earthquake) (Stealth Rock) (Slack Off) (Ice Fang)

Bottomless is my hiphopopotamus her lyrics are much like her name...
She leads off my team setting up Sand Storm *Cheese Storm* and Stealth Rock on the first turn. Earthquake although supposedly self explanatory doesn't seem like it will get that much use... She can use Earthquake to one shot Heatran, but what player in their right mind would let their Heatran stay in against a ground type Pokemon? I also don't see many heatran switching in on her either, but oh well... Ice Fang is to help her counter Salamence and most other dragons. Rindo Berry was chosen over Yache Berry after Adamco13 suggested that I should have some way of dealing with Infernape and this should allow for Bottomless to survive a Grass Knot and hit back with Earthquake.

As far as Switch ins go Bottomless will Switch to Either Geno, F-Type, or Hinawa, because of their resistances / lack of weakness to Bottomless's three weakness's of Water, Grass and Ice. Only if it is clear that I can switch in 1-Up or Togera do to the absence of Water for Togera or Ice for 1-Up *Amungst other things* would I use them as a switch in for Bottomless.

Hinawa
761231-hinawa_large.jpg

Hinawa: #242 Blissey, Calm, Chople Berry
252 Def / 40 SpA / 216 SpD
(Ice Beam) (Thunder Wave) (Aromatherapy) (Soft Boiled)

Hinawa is a loving mother who gives care and support to her children as well as my Pokemon! Ice Beam is useful for hitting some flying type pokemon, but especially for dragons like Salamence. Although Hinawa isn't as good of a Dragon counter as Bottomless I find that it is nice to have a back up. Thunder Wave is an obvious yet extremely useful status move to help slow down my opponent's Pokemon. Aromatherapy is to make up for the fact that I do not have any real status absorbers aside from Hinawa herself. Softboiled is for Hinawa's famous Omelettes! Chople Berry is to compensate for Blissey's only weakness fighting type attacks and could help her stay in another turn to aid my team / hinder my opponent's team.

Hinawa's best switch in is F-Type, because of its immunity to fighting type attacks, which is Hinawa's only weakness aside from powerful physical attacks. Geno, Bottomless and 1-Up seem somewhat viable being neutral to fighting type attacks, but yet again it comes down to what the opposing Pokemon is...

Geno
geno_whirl_by_brandokay.jpg

Geno: #385 Jirachi, Impish, Shed Shell
240 HP / 160 Def / 76 SpD / 32 Spe
(Iron Head) (Body Slam) (Protect) (Wish)

Geno posessed this Jirachi in order to stall the competition and bring headache with his paralysis and stunning moves. Iron Head comes into play after Body Slam, because Geno can be faster than pretty much anything once they are paralyzed. Protect is for scouting / a combo with Wish and if I am really lucky it will block an explosion! :D Shed Shell is obvious due to the lack of U-Turn. Oh and if he doesn't get in the next Smash Bros he wanted me to tell you that he is going to blow up Japan!

Switch ins would be F Type or Bottomless unless there are reasons to do otherwise...

F Type

2594589880_372f6f43e1.jpg

F Type: #479 Cut Rotom, Bold, Leftovers
252 HP / 76 Def / 180 SpD
(Discharge) (Leaf Storm) (Hidden Power Fire) (Confuse Ray)

He's not very fast, but he's furious and as Golem likes to say "Tricksey!" Possibly my best counter on my team for Scizor, Gyarados and Swampert F Type has a lot of options at its disposal. Discharge is nice because of the possibility of paralysis, which is very useful to compensate for his lack of speed. Leaf Storm is purely for Swampert and its nice to actually have the move of your respective Rotom Appliance. Hidden Power is obviously for Scizor and pretty much any other steal type in the way. Confuse Ray is there for annoyance on something that may have already been paralyzed. Also, I'm not a huge fan of Trick so Confuse Ray felt like the best option to increase the chance that my opponents Pokemon may not act due to paralysis and confusion. Leftovers are a counter for weather dmg.

I adore the synergy F Type shares with Hinawa in the fact that they are immune to things that target one another... F type may provoke ghost type attacks which creates a nice switch into Hinawa and vice versa with Hinawa to F Type due to his immunity to fighting and normal type moves like Explosion or Focus Punch!

1-Up
Luigi_Vector_by_Rafeal.jpg

1-Up: #286 Breloom, Jolly, Toxic Orb
44 HP / 212 Atk / 252 Spe
(Super Power) (Stone Edge) (Stun Spore) (Spore)

Everyone's favorite item its 1-Up... Yay! It was a tough choice as far as what to give for a nickname and I was considering Luigi, but 1-Up seemed like the wisest choice... <,<; *You're welcome!* Super Power is 1-Up's main form of STAB dmg and preferably won't have to be used too often. Stone Edge is similar in the fact that I don't want to use it more than I have to due to the poopie accuracy. 1-Up's main purpose is to inflict status with sleep and paralysis to make my opponent's team easier to sweep with my other Pokemon. Its not to say that he won't get a chance to "faint" a few Pokes himself, but its just not in his character... 1-Up is more support like an actual 1-Up in Mario games. Toxic Orb works to counter weather much like Leftovers does for F Type although I do believe 1-Up will still get back 1/16th of it health each turn in Sandstorm. After having tested Breloom with max speed I decided to switch the EVs by familyguyman's suggestion.

1-up seems to be more of a revenge pokemon rather than a planned switch in/out to any particular Poke, but if he must switch out I will most likely summon forth/from Bottomless, Hinawa or F Type.

Togera
589060-art06_large.jpg

Togera: #248 Tyranitar, Lonely, Expert Belt
72 HP/ 252 Atk / 96 SpA / 88 Spe
(Pursuit) (Fire Blast) (Rock Slide) (Brick Break)

Last but surely not least is the big dinosaur Kaiju himself Togera! He's fun for his summoning of Sandstorm aka my Cheese Storm which will aid his KOing potential. Pursuit is his STAB move to take care of weak sweepers wanting to switch out once he gets in and if they don't, they may not survive anyhow. Fire Blast is to take out steels like Skarmory. Rock Slide is for awesome STAB occasional flinch *should the opponent be slower/paralyzed* and better accuracy than Stone Edge. Lastly, Brick Break is for anything weak to fighting attacks, but mostly for teams that like to use Reflect / Light Screen, because this one move could ruin their strategy, which could cost them the match. I gave Togera Expert Belt, because it should boost each of its moves just enough to 1 shot something it hits for Super Effective Dmg. Oh and because I hate choice items and Life Orb doesn't seem as useful... Also, I believe it can KO a Blissey with Brick Break after Stealth Rock and Sand Storm dmg.

Switch ins / outs are tough for Togera, because of his large amount of weakness's, but F Type seems the most viable for the situations I have encountered...

That's my team. It uses paralysis to slow down my opponent's Pokemon then it takes the team out one by one while getting support from Hinawa for status and Geno for Wish. Sand Storm is also an important theme to this team. Over half of the team is immune to taking dmg from sandstorm and the other three can take it, because of their held items or they are bulky as #@(*!@. The amount of resistances and immunities this team packs as a whole is amazing and punishes my opponents for going for SUPER EFFECTIVE attacks too often, it also allows me to switch with ease. Also, there are absolutely no weakness to Rock so switching won't be too much of a problem for my team assuming they don't have to deal with Spikes / Toxic Spikes. Lastly, the team name is derived from the fact that I am the master of all cheese, 4 of the pokemon on the team have a greenish color and that Sand Storm is one of the main themes...

All in all I think this has been the best team I have put together thus far, but I know there has to be room for improvement. I am somewhat inexperienced with competitive battling, but I hope the knowledge I have gained from this Univesity of Smog has helped me create something that is at least workable! This team was designed to play by all of the normal Smogon rules like sleep clause and the occasional item clause. I don't know if there is a same move or name clause out there somewhere, but as you can notice there are different moves for each of my Pokemon and each has a different begining letter of their name! :D I cannot credit myself for all of the movesets or Evs, because they were inspired from the Strategy Dex. I also cannot claim credit for any picture used in this RMT thread. Speaking of pictures... You may have already got it by now, but the pictures are of the characters I nicknamed my Pokemon after and they were found through google...

Thanks you so much for reading and your possible comments!

Macc the Cheesemage~

24 Hr+ Bump! Such a shame to get my thread pushed back to page two without any comments... I highly doubt my team is beyond any advice, so please give me whatever pointers you can! Thank you so much!

48 hrish bump! If you have a chance please give me a response on what you think about this team. I highly doubt I made a perfect team, but if for some reason you think it is at its best and cannot be improved upon please let me know!

Thanks again!

Say hello to MixApe.

It carries SE moves against every poke on your team except Rotom.

Lucario carries SE moves against 4/6 of your team.

Your team is also relatively slow.

Replace Blissey with a CM Cune that carries HP Electric. That will get rid of your Ape and Lucario weakness.

Now your team is just as slow =/

Take out Ttar and add a MixMence, its faster and the Shiny form is Green =D. It also helps take out Luke and other ghosts that may kill Rotom.

Thanks for being the first comment for over two days! To deal with Mix Ape better maybe I could switch the Yache Berry on Bottomless for a Grass Berry, which would give me a turn to take it out with Earthquake.

I am very fond of the sandstorm mechanic to my team and removing Togera means that I should probably just remove Bottomless and start fresh, because a Salamence would take pointless dmg form Sandstorm. I have two Pokemon to summon Sandstorm on my team to deal with an opponent is using a Hail team. Also, its awesome for punishing the likes of Salamence and Gyarados who will take a lot of dmg from Stealth Rock and Sandstorm combined.

I was having difficulties finding an appropriate special wall, because its not as straight forward as a physical wall. I used to have Porygon 2 as my physical wall, but it has gotten a little too popular lately for my liking... Suicune although nice for the rediculous boosts from Calm Mind, but it won't be much of a team player like Hinawa is. This team could be sweeped more easily by a stall team that likes to use status rather than a strong sweeping pokemon imo so I think it is in my interest to block against status somehow. Even if I decided to get Suicune.

Speed won't matter too much for my team since I am taking Obi's idea of inflicting paralysis to make their sweepers slower than mine. Also, almost every one of my Pokemon can take a hit or two so I can spread paralysis fairly efficiently. Speed could be an issue, but the only thing I fear team wise is a well designed stall team with Spikes and Toxic Spikes, because I will probably be switching a lot and that is what they want.

Seriously though, hanks a lot for your comment! I was getting lonely... Also I don't want to seem like I am disregarding your advice, because that information was very useful and was something I clearly overlooked... I would prefer to keep the Pokemon I have, but I was considering switching out Jirachi for something like Heatran, because I really don't have any strong special attackers. Although, that would mean I would yet again ruin my own theme(s) for paralyzing my opponent and being quicker than them that way as well as losing wish to keep my Pokes alive longer.

I'm definitely switching that berry though...

I'd like to bump my thread one last time... If there are no other suggestions I'll go ahead and make the team as is. I do believe this would be the 72+hourish bump... <,<;

Hi, one thing I'd like to suggest is going max speed (252 EV and Jolly) for Breloom. This will lower attack a bit but he's still breaking stuff with his power. The importance of this lies in fighting other Brelooms. You are screwed if you go one on one vs a max speed Breloom which I, and many others recently, have been running. Trust me, the jump you get on slower Gyarados (aka any not Max Speed as you get 262 to its 261).

You won't regret it!

Cheers.

I kinda started making a team based around paralysis and slow heavy hitters. My team obviously is different, but I chose machamp over breloom because of it's parafusing abilities. If breloom is important to you, then keep it. But I suggest you try it out, at least.

Thank you very much for your contributions to my thread. Now that I think about it, Breloom has more than enough power to one hit KO normal type tanks like Blissey with Super Power and Stone Edge in theory should also one hit KO those weak to it... I'll test out the Speed Evs you suggested on Shoddy.

As far as using a Machamp... I do like the idea, but I idiotically want to use Breloom for its sleep. However, you have got me torn because I could name my Machamp Goro after the 4 armed guy from Mortal Kombat... Oh and its statusing is a lot more useful!

Thanks again!
