Introduction
Fun Fact : This team has a starter, a pseudo legendary, two random midgame mons, a trio legendary, and a pixie. Your typical in game team if you can attend events :D
Namaste guys and gals!
This is yippeee bringing my second ever RMT. I built this team after i was lingering in mid 1500s, and it took me to above 1750 into the top50. I was first using a balnced team that was entirely different, and it took me to around 1650 (help with that team would be hugely appreciated), when I realised that it was 6-0ed by Mega Sableye stall. I went on a huge tilt, due to various factors, such as, hax, bad plays on my part, and my fucking bad internet connection. I fell to around 1520 or so, lol. Then, about a week ago, I was browsing through the ORAS cores thread and found a great core posted by AM. So, onto the teambuilding process.

Team Building Process

As I said, the team started with a core AM posted here. I made some moveset changes to the mons, but those were nothing special. I chose this core because Weavile is very underrated and is very antimeta at the moment, due to all those Brokendorus and Mega-Altaria running around. Manaphy is a great wallbreaker and Mega Venusaur checks Fairies pretty well for those two.

It still seemed a bit Fairy weak, as Mega Saur has to switch in many times andit can be worn down fairly quickly at times. It also is a good Lati switchin.

I was very weak to Birds and Mega Lopunny by now. So, I chose Tank Chomp.

I thought that I needed hazard removal for Weavile and a Ground resist. I did not want Lati@s as Talonflame could 6-0 me if Chomp got wekened somehow.

The Team

images

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 144 HP / 252 SpA / 112 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis

This image aptly describes Mega Venusaur. It is fat... Mega Venusaur is one of the best defensive Megas. Although it has fallen from grace, it can still handle huge threats such as Keldeo, Mega Altaria, and azumarill. It works on this team as it has good synergy with Manaphy and Weavile both offensively and defensively. The set is standard. I am using the offensive set, as i wanted to build a more offensive team. HP Fire instead of something like Sleep Powder because, Manaphy hates Ferrothorn, and I don't want to let Bisharp and Mega Scizor set up on me. The speed EVs creep everything trying to creep everything that creeps 44 EV Rotom-W. :D

images

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Swords Dance
- Ice Shard

This thing is antimeta to say the least. It checks so many things due to its high speed and access to priority. It is my win condition in about 80% of my games, that just shows how weak people are to this monster. Knock Off is the second most broken move (keep waiting, i will reveal the most broken soon ;D) in the game. I spam Knock Off early game to weaken switchins, if i get the chance. It does a solid 35%ish damage to Keldeo, Bisharp and Azumarill. This is also my lead if i see an opposing Landorus-T, as that thing is pretty threatening to me. I double into chomp most of the times to scout Scarf, especially if there is another potential rocker. Icicle Crash and Ice Shard are standard attacks. I am using SD as my team has no set up sweepers. I got the idea from Tesung's team and it is genius to say the least. I can handle Tyranitar and Bisharp (this is kinda problematic) with the rest of the team. This has won me many games, so I am lovin' it. Its just too good when they switch out their Landorus into Rotom-W as I SD and type gg. :D However, Low Kick is a good option too for removing pressure from Garchomp to handle Bisharp. Pursuit is another great option, maybe even better, as it checkmates Lati@s which are huge threats to me, if they run HP Fire. Oh and 29 HP IVs hit a Life Orb number.

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Energy Ball
- Ice Beam / Psychic
- Tail Glow

Anybody else agree that May was the most sexy anime girl??? She is jus.... Oh shit, what amI talking lol. So, this thing is literally a balance destroyer. I fell in love with it after 6-0ing about 10 people with it behind screens (that xtra$hine team. go try teams in that thread, they are awesome). I am using max speed because Charizard Mevos and Mega-Gardevoir can be problematic for me to handle. Oh remember when I said Knock Off is the 2nd most broken move, here is the topper on the list. Scald. Need I say more? I am using Energy Ball because nothing on my team wants to switch into Rotom-W as Venusaur hates burns. Ice Beam hits Grass-types that think they can handle the prince of the oceans as well as Lati@s as they can't OHKO from full health. Psychic is another option as it helps me a lot against opposing Mega Venusaur, but people don't really use that much fsr. Tail Glow is there to just fuck balance and stall to an extent. I really wanted to use HP Fire but it makes me slower than base 100s :(

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Superpower

I chose Scizor as my next Pokemon as I wanted another Fairy check, as well as something that could switch into Lati@s. I run the Choice Band set as it is the best set for regular Scizor in current meta imo, as it revenges lots of shit with Bullet Punch, such as Fairies (Diancie-Mega and Aktaria-Mega in particular), Gengar as well as Pursuit trapping Lati@s. It can easily clean lategame if the opposing team has been sufficiently weakened, which is not hard considering the amount of switches it and its teammates force. U-Turn is for scouting and hitting hard in general, as well as being a low risk high reward move in general. It is very cool for bringing Weavile in on a slow mon too. Pursuit is for Latis and Gengar as well as Mega Alakazam, as they most of the time switch against it if Venusaur is still alive. Superpower is for when the Ferrothorn / Magnezone / Heatran switchin is too obvious. The EV spread creeps standard Azumarill spreads. Thanks JohnYiu for the suggestion.

garchomp_by_enigmasystem-d5n4rfu.jpg

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tail
- Earthquake
- Endure

I chose Tank Chomp as my next Pokemon as I had no answer for Talonflame and Mega Lopunny and I still needed a Stealth Rock user. Although, Lopunny and Metagross have started using ice Punch, so , its shaky at best. The set is fairly standard. I use Endure on last spot as many times I wanted to get an extra turn of damage on physical attackers, when using Toxic or Fire Blast. And 2 endures in a row is just two cool :P. I miss Fire Blast though, as Ferrothorn is a bit annoying for me.

images

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 240 Def / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
- Defog
- Volt Switch
- Heat Wave
- Roost

This is the slot I am most unsure about. Basically, I wanted a Defogger/Spinner that did not make me more weak to Talonflame ( I am kinda paranoid about that thing. Fuck talonflame.). It also checks Landorus formes, so that's a plus. Defog as it is supposed to be a Defogger. Volt Switch is for getting Manaphy and Weavile in without damage, so that they can start wreaking shit. Heat Wave helps against Ferrothorn and Skarmory. Roost is for recovery. The best part about Zapdos is that it prevents Landorus from spamming Earth Power. The EV spread creeps neutral max base 70s, which prolly no one uses now, so w/e. Max Defense as I wanted to use it as a secondary Talon check.

So, this was the team people. I appreciate any kind of critic or help. You can try it if you want. This team is very close to my heart, as it is my most successful team ever since I returned from my hiatus. :)

Yeah, i am gonna try that. Thanks for the kind words mate.

Hey there, this is a solid team, i really like your Zapdos volt switch + Scizor pursuit core because it's not comon and can suprise enough to prepare a Manaphy's sweep. Nonetheless i noticed some little weakness that can covered.
  • First i notice that your team may struggle against Charizard Y as you mentioned before, but also against Sableye-Mega, indeed Sableye can give you a hard time since your only one reliable check will be manaphy which can get burned or knock off'd. You will lose against Sableye with longevity in addition to be forced to get multiples burn because you're not using statut absorber. I'd suggest to swap Weavile with SpD Bulk Up Talonflame, Talonflame is a good teammate for your team because it can counter Sableye and make it as a setup bait but it also make you safer against Charizard Y / Landorus-i. Plus Talonflame allows you to revenge kill Charizard X / Mega Gyara or Lopunny which is very good since they can be dangerous for your team. I really tried to keep your weavile, but i couldnt make the team better without removing it, then your team is more centralized around manaphy than Weavile to be honest.
  • My last suggest would be to put Toxic instead of Endure on Garchomp, as you can see your team can be annoyed by bulky ground types such as Landorus-T or Hippowdon since your check are weakned by Eartquake and Venusaur cant really heal with sand up, while with Toxic you will be able to lure them and make them less annoying.
I Hope I Helped and good luck with your team. ^^

Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Bulk Up / Swords Dance
- Will-O-Wisp / Taunt
- Roost

Thanks for the rate man. I will most certainly try this set. :)

Sup man really nizche team do u build here, but this maybe is gonna sound weird but i Suggest a new EV spread for Scizor just because is u only switch in for Lati@s so u need bulk and those speed ev's dont acomplish nothing imo so run 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe just to secure a pursuit trap. Another suggestion i could make is change Endure chomp < Toxic, Toxic help u a lot handling Bulky mon like Hippo, Op zapdos, Bulky waters etc. And last i suggest Psychic on Manaphy just because u struggle a lot against op Venusaur and with pursuit trapper user u dont need Ice Beam for Lati@s, like venu/ Mega Sableye and As u mentioned Chary are annoying / threats u can use Leftiez suggestion set or u can run this Heatran Set > Weaville a lil bit innovative, i like to try stuff random so yeah watch this set:

Heatran @ Chople Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stone Edge
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon

This set provide u support against this mons, just to get Focus Blast'ed on Switch, u can trap Fairies/ Mega Sableye / Mega Venusaurs etc, i leave i few calcs

252+ SpA Mega Charizard Y Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Chople Berry Heatran: 158-187 (48.9 - 57.8%)
0- Atk Heatran Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Charizard Y: 292-344 (98.3 - 115.8%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

Hope i helped

Thanks for the rate bro. I will certainly try your suggestions. I also tried leftiez's suggestions, but lando-t becomes a huge threat w/o weavile. Also, zapdos is not doing much in any games, so i am willing to replace it.
Oh and GL HF for our RBY cup game n_n
