Herro everyone I'm 649waystodie and I'm gonna share my OU team with you (quite obvious since we are in RMT). I stopped playing pokemon for quite sometime so coming back and seeing the new meta I really wasn't sure how to even start. So I checked the smogon sets and watched loads and loads and loads of youtube battles and started moving towards a team concept. The team was originally intended to revolve around setting up Gyarados to sweep. This however quickly proved to be ineffecient. So I adapted the team a bit and came out with a fairly solid team still centered around Gyarados but not quite as reliant on him.

Ahhhh Gyarados one of my favorite pokemon and a dominant force in pokemon since the originals. This set in my opinion is one of the best, possibly the best set for Gyarados but thats just me. Status hates gyarados and whats the best cure for status on a sweeper you ask well just add substitute and status is a thing of the past. Basically switch gyarados into something either it forces out or a pokemon like blissey whom you can proceed to set up on. I've found that at +2 gyarados can almost sweep through entire teams behind a sub. Gyarados is one of my favorite pokemon and will always be and on this team hes king.

Heatran is by far my favorite 4th gen pokemon his signatute move Magma Storm is freaking awesome haha and just look at him he's moving lava what's better? Moving lava that's faster than dragons that's whats better. This is Heatran's bread and butter set from 4th gen and I'm bringing it back in 5th gen. Scarftran is incredibly overlooked in 5th and frankly this dissapoints me. Heatran fills the role of a revenge killer/scarf sweeper very very well. With a choice scarf he can outspeed everything in OU provided they don't have a speed boost or a scarf of their own. And even with timid overheat still has the potential to do over 50% of standard rotom-w's hp which is incredible.

Donphan fills the role of a spinner very well and has access to SR. With significant investment in HP and Def there are very few physical attacks that can really hurt him. Donphan also works particularly well on this team because of Gyarados's weakness to electricity which donphan is immune to. Donphan can easily take attacks from Lucario, Terrakion, Infernape, Conkelldur (not quite as safely), and other heavy hitters in OU. With toxic Donphan can also outstall others donphans and tyranitar without ice beam (or you could just use EQ). In short Donphan is an invaluble member of this team covering Gyarados's weakness to electricity and getting rid of stealth rocks the second thing gyarados hates more than anything.

Espeon was an extremely overlooked eeveelution but Nintendo granted espeon access to one of the best abilities in the game Magic Bounce. Magic Bounce acts as a permanent Magic Bounce which reflects nearly any non-attacking move back to the user. This provides Espeon with loads of utility and a way to send entry hazards and status conditions back to the enemies tanks namely Jellicent, Forretress, and Donphan. Despite not having any investment in SpAtk Espeon still does significant damage to fighting types obviously and neutral pokemon with lower SpDef. Espeon brings dual screens to the table to add to her utility and allow for Gyarados to safely set up on bulky waters as scald will not break his substitute or set up on hyper carry fighting types because with reflect and intimidate they won't hurt him at all.

Scizor has and always will be the true king of OU. Since its release in 2nd gen Scizor has been overpowered and this brought my attention to Scizor. With access to the most powerful priority in the game (thanks to technician) and a scouting tool that just about rapes everything Scizor becomes an excellent revenge killer and scout. Scizor is on this team to scout, revenge kill, and most specifically take people off guard. Giving Scizor an expert belt might seem dumb at first but hear me out. Scizor can utilize an expert belt incredibly well, basically you bait the choice band the whole battle and then when your opponent thinks he/she has got you, you break out a different attack a swing the battle back in your favor. Scizor makes an excellent revenge killer, and tide turner with an expert belt.
Edit: Choice Band is definitely a better item Expert Belt is much better situationaly like when trapped by Magnezone or against stall teams where blissey is scouting with protect (I HATE THAT) you get the idea but with Expert Belt Scizor loses so much sheer power I now feel that Scizor kind of needs CB to fill its role on my team.GlugGlug (Gastrodon) Leftovers

Gastrodon was recently mentioned by Jirachi down below so I immediately decided to test him as I got thrashed by a starmie just moments before I saw this. So far gastrdon has been invaluble in taking down rain teams as it laughs at Politoad, Starmie is a thing of the past, and Tornadus is a bit of trouble still but I can work around it. Gastro is incredible at doing what it does keep rain teams in check and being able to hold its ground against sun teams and dent sandstorm teams pretty much a perfect counter to weather if you ask me. Like I said Gastrodon has so far been an amazing addition to the team and I'm gonna continue testing him for sure.

Blissey was the go to guy for a special tank with lots of utility. Unfortunately Blissey wasn't able to do anything against pokemon that can set up on her and really couldn't deal with getting tricked, taunted, etc typical Blissey counters. So I threw around some ideads and came out with Jellicent who can fill the same role has incredible defensive typing sporting only 4 major weaknesses none of which or particularly prevelent in 5th gen.

Jellicent is an interesting pokemon sporting the look of our beloved Pringles man. In the 5th gen meta Jellicent acts as almost a stall breaker utilizing taunt to its fullest. Jellicent is my direct counters to bulky waters such as vaporeon, gastrodon, and slowbro. Jellicent outspeeds uses taunt and toxic and proceeds to slowly drain the opponents Hp. Jellicent also acts as my team's main Special tank and synergizes quite well with donphan and heatran creating a core with no gaping wholes. Jellicent recently replaced Blissey because I was having major problems with bulky waters and Blissey just wasn't cutting it.
