The Kyogre Team

What's up!?! I'm back again and this time I'm 75% sure I'm in the right forum! Thought I'd post this uber team as it is probably my most successful team ever. But I'm still pretty sucky so here it goes!

Kyogre @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Water Spout
- Surf
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
This is a classic Kyogre choice scarf set. Nothing really that fancy just spew water spout as fast as I can. This entire team is based after him and his ability (woulda worked better in BW Ubers). Everything is built around helping and stopping Kyogre.

Palkia @ Lustrous Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Spacial Rend
- Surf
- Fire Blast
- Thunder
Palkia is the partner in crime to Kyogre. It's also a pretty good wall to other Kyogre's (although Zekrom can be a bit better.) Surf and Thunder work in Kyogre's rain and Fire Blast is for steel types (though I rarely use it.)

Zekrom @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Bolt Strike
- Outrage
- Volt Switch
- Dragon Claw
Good ole Zekrom...no doubt my favorite pokemon on this team. It's used to get opposing Kyogres and sometimes opposing Zekroms off the field. It's also a great counter to Chansey/Blissey.

Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Whirlwind
- Ice Beam
- Roost
Lugia...I could probably use a better physical wall over you if there was a prevalence of physical sweepers in Uber...or I could get Darkrai as a great lead...but instead I calm mind until you have 4X in sp. def and sp. atk and then get whirlwinded out...

Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Geomancy
- Focus Blast
- Flash Cannon
Xerneas is my alternate lead at the moment. Once again it's pretty simple. Geomancy once and then spam Moonblast... Flash Cannon for opposing xerneas and duck and cover agains a Chansey/Blissey.

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic
- Heal Bell
The great special wall of the game...this ill girl is great at stalling and is of course the cleric of the team. Not much else to say...she's cute

Honestly, I could use a rapid spinner or someone to set up hazards...but this thing functions pretty well I think...feedback appreciated! God Bless!

Since you are using Scarf Kyogre most likely as your win condition considering that you built your team around it, you will want good ways to handle defensive threats that stop Kyogre from sweeping. Perhaps the best Palkia check in the game is Blissey (you shouldn't be using Chansey, see this thread: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/blissey-qc-2-3-ready-for-3rd-check.3501462/ especially when you don't have Seismic Toss). Arceus-Water and Arceus-Grass need to be eliminated as well and since the only Toxic spam you have is Chansey (no Taunt at all on this team) it would be nice to have better ways to clear a path for Kyogre (Geo Xern can beat these two Arceus but they are likely to not stay in while their Xern check / counter murders you more than normal since you have terrible coverage moves). More troubling is considering what will threaten Scarf Kyogre that you don't necessarily have excellent switches to. Priority and faster mons in general will make you want to switch out Ogre to keep its Spout intact and thus having good switches against such threats is mandatory if Kyogre is your win condition when really Zekrom and Xerneas could also be conditions.

Using Lugia basically means that you need to have anti hazard support while you should also have hazards of your own; at the very minimum Stealth Rock especially considering how Ho-Oh weak this team is. You have no way of stopping HO leads from getting off two layers of hazards or SR + fucking up something really bad. Opposing Sub Geo Xern sweeps you 5-0 easy as long as SR is up which you have no way of stopping. The lack of priority and the fact that many of your spreads are not optimal makes it even easier for HO teams to stomp you flat.

For Optimizations:

Run 104 HP / 32 Def / 252 SAtk / 120 Spd on Geo Xern, sets with even more bulk and less speed work as well but start with this.

Please don't use Flash Cannon on Xerneas, there is never an even remotely common situation where it will deal more than Moonblast and yet for some reason you see this everywhere. Choose from Thunder, Hidden Power Fire, Psyshock, or Substitute instead. I'm also not a big fan of Focus Suck on Geo Xern but it does actually cover some things assuming it hits.

Run Blissey over Chansey.

Don't run CM on Lugia, choose Toxic or Thunder Wave over it and Aeroblast or Substitute over Ice Beam. Lugia also needs defense investment not speed since its already such a fast wall.

I don't like Dragon Claw on Scarf Zekrom and I usually prefer HP Ice to hit Landorus and Gliscor switch-ins. Draco Meteor also hits these nicely in addition to hitting Groudon harder.

Run Naughty on Zekrom.

Run Timid on Palkia, put those 4 Atk EVs into Defense since your Palkia has no, and should have no physical moves.

Minority Suspect hammered out most stuff. I personally don't like the lack of a steel type on this team, synergy wise. Also, you don't have some checks and others are iffy, for example Zekrom 6-0s you. Also, run Multiscale on Lugia.
