The Muzio Gambit: Deo-S HO (Peaked at 1600~)

Hello! I am called many things, including CrystallicCrystal, Fascist Pig, and that idiot who lost to Psych Up Mewtwo and put the replay on the forums so every could laugh at him. I was bored and I decided to make an RMT for a team I've been using for quite a while. It is, as you could tell by the title, a Deo-S HO team that peaked me at 1600~ on ladder.

f3 Knight (Deoxys-Speed) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Magic Coat
- Knock Off

Deoxys-Speed's appearance on this team is vital to its success for numerous reasons. An offensive team such as this requires a fast hazard setter to set up Rocks to get those crucial OHKOs and whatnot. Taunt is there for opposing leads, Rocks is there because Rocks, Magic Coat is there to beat other Deoxys-S by bouncing their Taunts back at them, and Knock Off is there so that if I have set my rocks up, I can knock an item off an enemy mon before perishing.

He's named after the Knight on f3 when White plays the brutally offensively-oriented and sharp Muzio Gambit in Chess, where his sacrifice heralds a hilariously violent and momentous game for White.
darkrai.png

Darkrai @ Life Orb
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Dark Void
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb

Darkrai's primary purpose in this team is to put something on the enemy team to sleep. This means that after Deo-S is killed, I can sleep something, gaining a 5-5 with SR on the enemy field, giving me the advantage. Darkrai's secondary purpose is to use Nasty Plot coupled with his two attacking moves to sweep enemy teams when given the chance. Many teams often have trouble dealing with 5 potent special attackers at the same time, overwhelming the enemy's specially defensive backbone.

mewtwo-mega-y.png

Mewtwo @ Mewtwonite Y
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Focus Blast
- Fire Blast
- Psystrike

Ah, good old Taunt + 3 Attacks MMY. Smashing things into pieces since Gen 1. MMY's primary purpose on this team is as a mixed cleaner, thanks to Psystrike giving specially defensive mons like Blissey the finger and giving it a beating more painful than an enema of kitchen knives. Taunt is there to screw over defoggers. Shadow Ball beats opposing Mewtwos, while Focus Blast is there for killing Arceus-Normal, Rock, and Steel, who are omnipresent on ladder due to its unoriginality.
xerneas.png

Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 184 HP / 28 Def / 252 SAtk / 44 Spd
Modest Nature
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Good old GeoXern. Simply put, this thing is amazing as a late-game sweeper. While I'm casually trading mons off, my enemy often forgets that I have this thing in the wings, waiting to snack on them, or rather, its Power Herb. Geomancy is there for obvious reasons, Moonblast is my obligatory STAB move, Thunder is there to screw over Ho-Oh and specially defensive Kyogre, and HP Fire is there because I'm too impatient and lazy to remove Steels that resist Moonblast and Thunder before beginning to sweep. I'd replace it with sub if I had Mega Gengar on this team, but I don't. EVs are kinda standard and kinda not. Max special attack to wreck stuff, 28 Def is there to make Genesect get a SpA boost from Download because screw Download, 44 Speed is there to outspeed Scarf Genesect, and the rest is in HP for bulk.
shaymin-sky.png

60% = 100% (Shaymin-Sky) @ CLeftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash
- Substitute
- Leech Seed

SubSeed Shaymin-S. Oh, how many ragequits I have caused with this thing. Simply put, SubSeed Shaymin-S is hilariously fun to use against others. He sets up a Sub and Leech seeds the opponent, and proceeds to use his unfair STAB moves to erode the enemy's pokemon and mind. I could possibly change this for the LO variant. Need to try it out.

arceus-ghost.png

Arceus-Ghost @ Spooky Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Judgment
- Focus Blast

And last and possibly least, we have CM offensive Arceus-Ghost. The idea with this guy is to set up on the enemy team, and sweep with incredible coverage and powerful STAB. Judgment hits things like a nuke, and Focus Blast mops up things that I wouldn't be able to touch otherwise, like Arceus-Normal.

And that's my team. Rate, make fun of, trash-talk, or if you're really, REALLY stupid, steal.

Hey Flaming Facepalm,

It's a decent team. The biggest problem I see is that the team really cannot afford to lose momentum at all, since you lose to a lot of common threats. The biggest threats are naturally faster mons, since the lack of defensive synergy means that you win by not allowing, say Xerneas, to set up via void, taunt, pressure with CM/Sub, etc. If rocks are up and I revenge MMY with ScarfOgre, it's gg. That's the main issue overall that I'm seeing (though it is not necessarily only ScarfOgre that is the problem, that is just an example). If you fail to keep up momentum (which hopefully doesn't happen), then you lose to stuff like Xerneas. Offensive Yveltal could annoy you, as it threatens most of the team. On a side note, you have 5 Special attackers+1 support mon.

About fixing stuff, the team already does a very nice job of not giving up momentum. However, that doesn't mean that it is not disturbing that you lose to Xerneas after it boosts, given that it gets the opportunity to. I personally don't see where you are going with SubSeed Shaymin though. I feel like it adds no particular relevant synergy. Palkia could be used to stop ScarfOgre. Alternatively, you could afford to be running some priority on this team, and something like CB Scizor could be used to check Xerneas mostly, but also Ekiller and stuff.

OPTIMIZATION:

Deo-S- It's preference, but there is no real need for bulk since all you want to do is get down rocks. You could run 252 Atk EVs instead if you wanted.

Darkrai- looks fine

MMY- I personally don't like Shadow Ball that much, but it seems fine otherwise. Fire Blast could be good since it hits most steel types which resist Skymin's STABs as well as Xerneas's Moonblast. I don't really care what you run.

Xerneas- I prefer a faster Xerneas, like 124 Spd for HP Fire variants.

Skymin- fine

Ghostceus- Given these calcs:

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Arceus Shadow Claw vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Arceus-Ghost: 320-377 (72 - 84.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Arceus Shadow Claw vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Arceus-Ghost: 263-309 (68.8 - 80.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I'd say that it doesn't do that much for you to run max Def > max HP, which will give you more mixed bulk too.

Good luck!

Crap, screwed up the EV spread on Ghostceus. It was supposed to be 252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP. Fixing.

I agree with the sentiment that losing momentum is effectively a game over for this team, since it's completely correct. Your suggestion of replacing Skymin with Palkia is one I will take. Should I use the LustOrb set or are there better ones to suit this team?

For Xerneas, what does 124 Spd outspeed that is relevant? Is the reason behind going for that amount of speed to be reasonably fast before the boost, or to outspeed something relevant after it?
