XY Ubers The Nuclear Arsenal (Oras Ubers)

So, as my first Ubers RMT, I decided I would post my team that is incredibly stupid, but still works. This team basically sums up ubers right now in my opinion, and is basically just a suicide lead, and threats. Without any further ado, lets get to the team.

Deoxys-Speed
images

alien Jesus (Deoxys-Speed) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Psycho Boost

Deoxys-s does what most deoxys-s do: set up hazards and die. I chose deoxys for this team as those early game hazards allow the rest of the team to get some crucial ohkos that they don't get without rocks. Taunt is there to stop lead defoggers and hinder darkrai a little, as well as stopping other hazards. Psycho boost is so deoxys isn't taunt bait.

Primal Kyogre
images

rain jesus (Kyogre-Primal) @ Blue Orb
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Origin Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Calm Mind
The first nuke. Primal kyogre serves as a special tank of sorts, and can set up calm minds to gain frightening power. Primal Kyogre, although powerful, has generally been the least useful member of my team, due to the primal groudons and rayquazas running around everywhere. I am currently considering changing it to scarf kyogre, but I am not sure. So far, I have yet to be able to pull off a kyogre sweep.

Primal Groudon
images

sun jesus (Groudon-Primal) @ Red Orb
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Precipice Blades
- Fire Punch
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish
Ah, primal Groudon. Such an amazing pokemon, and seen on almost all ubers teams now. He is my second nuke and powerful physical sweeper after I set up a rock polish. He can run through teams at a moments notice, ohkoing kyogre-primal and xerneas after damage from 2 hazards. I run speed instead of the standard bulk on groudons and kyogres for the ability to outrun and ko the opposing primal pokemon. The moveset is fairly self explanatory, with precipice blades being chosen over earthquake for the extra power.

Mega Rayquaza
images

wind jesus (Rayquaza-Mega) @ Life Orb
Ability: Delta Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Dragon Ascent
- Earthquake
Mega Rayquaza. The Bane of everything. The destroyer of worlds. This pokemon is the most terrifying/fun thing to face/use. It is a literal point and shoot. If it is given a free switch and can set up a swords dance, the opponent has to choose what they want to die. It is one of my main sweepers, and tears through teams all throughout ubers. Earthquake is my chosen coverage move to hit the likes of mega mawile and klefki for the ohko after an sd. Deoxys' rocks and spikes help rayquaza immensely by allowing it to act as a new extreme killer and taking out threats like scarfed zekrom or palkia.

Xerneas
images

fairy jesus (Xerneas) @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Ah, the face of xy ubers. This xerneas does what xerneas does best, set up geomancy and wreck havoc. Xerneas may have gained a new check in primal groudon (kind of), it still murders almost everything. Primal groudon is also a very good partner with geoxern as it deals with scizor, genesect, aegislash, m lucario, and jirachi with impunity. Hp fire is my chosen coverage move to hit the steel types that switch in for good damage. Thunderbolt>thunder on this set for the better accuracy.

Arceus
images

Jesus Jesus (Arceus) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- ExtremeSpeed
- Earthquake
- Shadow Force
My last sweeper, extreme killer arceus. The set is fairly self explanatory except for the lum berry, which is run to prevent burns and other pesky status which my team does not deal with well. Stealth rocks and spikes really help arceus get some ohkoes and he forms an extreme killer combo with rayquaza. Other than that, standard e killer.

Threatlist:
Mega Rayquaza: This thing threatens every team, it has no counters and pretty much no checks.

Lugia: Lugia running whirlwind is almost impossible for my team to break as my team is all setup and doesn't have any reliable status.

Conclusion: Well, this team is incredibly dumb, but it works. In oras ubers, throwing together threats just works, because they all kind of need specific counters, and not every team runs them. So please rate my terrible but okay team.

Hey oryxslayer,

This is a pretty solid, albeit standard team. The team itself is actually pretty nice, with few major weaknesses holding it back. However, there are a number of sets which could be improved greatly. Firstly, I would suggest Knock Off over Psycho Boost on Deoxys-S. This allows you to punish mons generally more than Psycho Boost, by removing a Life Orb or other item which would have been used to facilitate a sweep. Dark is also a better neutral offensive type than Psychic, and while you don't get STAB, you also do not have to worry about drops or anything. Secondly, I suggest running Dragon Claw over Fire Punch on Groudon. This allows you to hit Giratina-O harder, and while it is preferential, Giratina-O with some support can be pretty effective against this team, especially a Shadow Force variant. For Xerneas, I would change the spread to 104 HP / 28 Def / 252 SpA / 124 Spe with a Modest nature. This is the standard spread for HP Fire Xerneas, though other speed creeps are possible. I would run Thunder over Thunderbolt, as while the accuracy is annoying, Thunderbolt is terribly weak in general, and actually is outdamaged by a neutral Moonblast (i.e. 95*1.3*1.5>90*2). Your Arceus should run a spread of 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe with a Jolly Nature, which primarily allows you to outspeed Gengar before evolving, though it also helps a lot with revenging Mega Rayquaza. I would also suggest Life Orb as the item, allowing you to deal more damage in general. It is more effective than Lum Berry in my opinion, since bulkier teams that rely on burning Ekiller tend to be less common. You could also run Shadow Claw over Shadow Force, but this is not necessary.

I feel like Kyogre is, as you said, the least useful member of this team. It doesn't really do that much for you; it certainly doesn't hurt, but it does not have as much utility as other things do. Ditto works in this slot I guess, as a safety net and set up deterrent versus opposing offense of a similar nature, though this pretty much turns the team into the bog standard offense this gen (so would having Darkrai in this slot). You could try experimenting with a lot of things- something like Latias would be cool for this team I guess, allowing you to keep offensive pressure and have Healing Wish to revive another monster threat for a potential clean late game. It's up to you though.

Good luck!

Thanks for the rate! I agree with the knock off on deoxys, as I had a really annoying trick gothitelle use me as setup fodder. The ev spreads seem logical and I will change those. I am not sure about changing fire punch, as it is a very powerful stab because of the stab bonus plus sun, and I haven't really had any problems with giratina, because xerneas. I will try it tho, and I will also try a ditto/latias/darkrai in kyogre's spot. Thanks!

Hey man, haxiom's got you covered for most stuff, Jolly LO ESpeed is definitely helpful for revenging Mega Ray and having stuff that hits hard right off the bat never hurts. One suggestion I have is running a more defensive spread on Xerneas. ESpeed is definitely more common, and this will help against revenge kill attempts. The current spread is to outspeed MMY if Xern is affected by Sticky Web, and uncommon bemchmark. You can run like between 52 and 64 Speed and still be fine for all relevant, common threats (sorry idr specifics atm). 252 Special Attack you still want. Even though you aren't running Substitute, i think going for 101 HP Subs is still a decent benchmark, and then put the rest in defense. Because Xern's HP is so high, this actually gives a bit more physical bulk. Anyway gl with your team!

I'm 100% seconding haxiom's rate, but I would like to suggest focus blast instead of hp fire on xerneas. The xerneas checks that hp fire hits are pretty uncommon this gen for various reasons, and focus blast is needed to hit primal groudon. It hits ferro just as hard btw. Having a move that gets past such a top-tier mon is really nice, and kind of necessary.
If you decide to keep rock polish+3 atk on groudon I think you should indeed use dragon claw so you have a super effective move to use defog users with. The speed you run isn't at all needed though. I'm on my phone atm so I can't check what I always run, but enough speed to outspeed base 130's (aka mewtwo, but skymin and darkrai are a bit below that) at +1. This way you have more bulk which helps with checking xerneas for example. I would also use dd+3 atks on rayq as I honestly think that is its best set. Espeed is mandatory for utility outside of sweeping, but when you get to +1/+1 you KO most things with either dragon ascend or eq so you likely won't need it then. SD+3atk does roughly the same but you have to rely on DA less often once you have set up, which might make revenging a bit more difficult. Lol mvm what was I thinking sd+3 atks does so much better vs most things, just misses out on killing arceus-fairy.

Cool team, its pretty standard but that's what makes it a solid team in this meta haha. Good luck with it :]

Thanks for the rates. I agree with changing hp fire to focus blast simply because i have primal groudon and that annihilates scizor, aegislash, ferrothorn m mawile, and all the other would be xerneas checks. I will try out the bulkier spread on xerneas and I think i will probably keep it seeing as MMY is very rare due to mega rayquaza existing. Thanks guys :)
