[SET COMMENTS]

* Chi-Yu's solid offensive stats combined with Beads of Ruin make it a powerful wallbreaker in the tier, with its unresisted STAB combination threatening out key Pokemon such as Necrozma-DM, Zacian-C, and Lunala. However, Chi-Yu's mediocre Speed tier means it is easily revenge killed by Pokemon like Marshadow and Palkia-O, especially since it is quite frail, meaning it needs team support to position itself safely, so Sticky Web structures are needed for it to thrive.
* Fire Blast allows Chi-Yu to OHKO offensive Necrozma-DM and 2HKO Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground unboosted while also OHKOing Extreme Killer Arceus after a Nasty Plot boost. Flamethrower has less power but improved accuracy.
*Black Hole Eclipse enables Chi-Yu to OHKO Double Dance Primal Groudon, Palkia-O, and Mega Salamence unboosted while also allowing Chi-Yu to OHKO Ho-Oh, defensive Primal Kyogre, Zacian-C, and defensive Eternatus after a boost, greatly benefitting it in wallbreaking opposing balance teams.
* Taunt allows Chi-Yu to stop status conditions such as Toxic poison and paralysis from Pokemon such as Ho-Oh and Giratina-O, letting it wallbreak more comfortably. Overheat lets Chi-Yu break through Chansey after hitting it with boosted Black Hole Eclipse, as well as giving Chi-Yu a greater offensive presence outside of Nasty Plot, letting it OHKO Marshadow and defensive Necrozma-DM after a layer of spikes, although the latter is not guaranteed.
* A Timid nature is typically preferred to always outspeed unboosted Yveltal, support Arceus formes, Rayquaza, and Lunala, but Modest can be used for the extra damage, letting Chi-Yu more reliably OHKO Zygarde and Arceus-Fairy with boosted Dark Pulse and Fire Blast, respectively. Modest is significantly worse against more offensive team structures; however, as if Sticky Web support is removed Chi-Yu can no longer outspeed support Arceus formes and Lunala.
* Chi-Yu is a very strong attacker, so a lot of the time its presence alone can threaten out Pokemon like Necrozma-DM, enabling either free damage or a Nasty Plot boost. Chi-Yu should be careful with its Z-Move, since it's ideally used to target Pokemon such as Ho-Oh or defensive Eternatus, rather than using it wastefully against Pokemon such as Marshadow or Mega Mewtwo Y. In a situation where Chi-Yu cannot use Nasty Plot reliably, using Black Hole Eclipse unboosted is still quite powerful, as the chip damage alone is enough in some situations where a teammate can clean up walls like Ho-Oh, Eternatus, and support Arceus formes.
* Chi-Yu works best on hyper offense structures that revolve around Sticky Web, meaning setters such as Shuckle and Smeargle are greatly appreciated; the latter also comes with the benefit of removing entry hazards with Mortal Spin for Chi-Yu, since it cannot hold Heavy-Duty Boots, while they both can set additional hazards such as Stealth Rock or Spikes which help Chi-Yu reach important damage thresholds.
* Teammates that can threaten out specially defensive walls such as Ho-Oh, Eternatus, and Arceus-Fairy are greatly appreciated by Chi-Yu since it can wallbreak easier, so teammates such as offensive Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM, and Marshadow are good for this; these Pokemon also appreciate Chi-Yu breaking through physical walls like opposing Primal Groudon, Zygarde, and support Arceus formes.

* Chi-Yu's solid offensive stats combined with Beads of Ruin make it a powerful wallbreaker in the tier, with its unresisted STAB combination threatening out key Pokemon such as Necrozma-DM, Zacian-C and Lunala. However, Chi-Yu's mediocre Speed tier means it is easily revenge-killed by Pokemon like Marshadow and Palkia-O, especially since it is quite frail, meaning it needs team support to position itself safely.
* Flamethrower provides Chi-Yu with a reliable STAB option to hit Steel-types in the tier like the aforementioned Necrozma-DM. Fire Blast is an alternative which improves damage, allowing Chi-Yu to OHKO offensive Necrozma-DM and 2HKO defensive Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock, while being able to OHKO Extreme Killer Arceus after a Nasty Plot boost, but this comes at the cost of accuracy.
* Dark Pulse when combined with Darkinium Z becomes Black Hole Eclipse; it enables Chi-Yu to OHKO Double Dance Primal Groudon, Palkia-O and Mega Salamence, while allowing Chi-Yu to OHKO Ho-Oh, defensive Primal Kyogre, Zacian-C and defensive Eternatus after a boost, greatly benefitting it in wallbreaking the opposing team.
* Taunt allows Chi-Yu to stop status conditions such as Toxic and paralysis from Pokemon such as Ho-Oh and Giratina-O, letting it wallbreak more comfortably. Overheat is an alternative which lets Chi-Yu break through Chansey after hitting it with boosted Black Hole Eclipse, as well as giving Chi-Yu a greater offensive presence outside of Nasty Plot, letting it OHKO Marshadow. anything else it OHKOes?
* A Timid nature is typically preferred to always outspeed unboosted Yveltal and Lunala, but Modest can be used for the extra damage, letting Chi-Yu more reliably OHKO Zygarde and Arceus-Fairy, with boosted Dark Pulse and Fire Blast respectively, but this nature does significantly worse against more offensive team structures.
* Chi-Yu is a very strong attacker, so a lot of the time it's presence alone can threaten out Pokemon like Necrozma-DM, enabling either free damage or a Nasty Plot boost. Chi-Yu should be careful with its Z-Move too, since it's ideal to target Pokemon such as Ho-Oh or defensive Eternatus to nuke with, rather than using it wastefully against what foes for example it'd be a waste?. In the situation where Chi-Yu cannot use Nasty Plot reliably, using Black Hole Eclipse unboosted is still quite powerful, meaning the chip damage alone is enough in some situations where a teammate can clean up walls like Ho-Oh, Eternatus and support Arceus formes.
* Chi-Yu works best on offensive team structures, including hyper offense. Teammates that can set hazards such as Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM and Arceus-Water are good partners to Chi-Yu, letting it reach important damage thresholds. Similarly, teammates that can remove hazards such as Giratina-O and Ho-Oh are appreciated due to Chi-Yu being unable to hold Heavy-Duty Boots, making it weak to Stealth Rock. More notably, Glimmora is a great partner for Chi-Yu since it can set hazards including Toxic Spikes, while removing them at the same time with Mortal Spin. Smeargle and Shuckle are alternative hazard setters, with Sticky Web to mitigate Chi-Yu's mediocre Speed, letting it outspeed Pokemon like Deoxys-A and Zacian-C, while the former also has Mortal Spin to remove hazards.
* Teammates that can threaten out specially defensive walls such as Ho-Oh, Eternatus, Chansey too niche and Arceus-Fairy are greatly appreciated by Chi-Yu since it can wallbreak easier, teammates such as offensive Primal Groudon, Ultra Necrozma and Marshadow are good for this; these Pokemon also appreciate Chi-Yu breaking through physical walls like Primal Groudon, Zygarde and support Arceus formes.

Please let me know on here or discord when the changes have been implemented. There are quite a few so I'd like to take a second look before it goes to GP.

Lets discuss this in C&C, but after running some calcs and reading the analysis Fire Blast seems better as the default option since the import will have a Timid nature.

Mention that Chi-Yu is exclusive to webs teams.
* Flamethrower provides Chi-Yu with a reliable STAB option to hit Steel-types in the tier like the aforementioned Necrozma-DM. Fire Blast is an alternative which improves damage, allowing Chi-Yu to OHKO offensive Necrozma-DM and 2HKO defensive Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock, while being able to OHKO Extreme Killer Arceus without Stealth Rock after a Nasty Plot boost, but this comes at the cost of accuracy. This sounds like Fire Blast should be the first option. I checked the damage calc and Dark Pulse does more to Primal Groudon than Flamethrower so that mention should be removed.
It would probably be better to specify balance teams
* Taunt allows Chi-Yu to stop status conditions such as Toxic and paralysis from Pokemon such as Ho-Oh and Giratina-O, letting it wallbreak more comfortably. Overheat is an alternative which lets Chi-Yu break through Chansey after hitting it with boosted Black Hole Eclipse, as well as giving Chi-Yu a greater offensive presence outside of Nasty Plot, letting it OHKO Marshadow and defensive Necrozma-DM after a layer of spikes, although the latter is a roll.
* A Timid nature is typically preferred to always outspeed unboosted Yveltal and Lunala, but Modest can be used for the extra damage, letting Chi-Yu more reliably OHKO Zygarde and Arceus-Fairy, with boosted Dark Pulse and Fire Blast respectively, but this nature is does significantly worse against more offensive team structures. Mention that it is signficantly worse against offensive structures if Sticky Web is removed. If Webs are up it still outspeeds the entire metagame regardless of nature. Specially offensive Yveltal, utility Arceus formes, and Rayquaza are important mons for Chi-Yu to outspeed.
* Chi-Yu is a very strong attacker, so a lot of the time it's presence alone can threaten out Pokemon like Necrozma-DM, enabling either free damage or a Nasty Plot boost. Chi-Yu should be careful with its Z-Move too, since it's ideal to target Pokemon such as Ho-Oh or defensive Eternatus to nuke with, rather than using it wastefully against Pokemon such as Marshadow or Mega Mewtwo Y. We should discuss this in C&C since I've not seen Chi-Yu been used successfully outside of webs. At least this set.
* Teammates that can threaten out specially defensive walls such as Ho-Oh, Eternatus and Arceus-Fairy are greatly appreciated by Chi-Yu since it can wallbreak easier, so teammates such as offensive Primal Groudon, Ultra Necrozma and Marshadow are good for this; these Pokemon also appreciate Chi-Yu breaking through physical walls like opposing Primal Groudon, Zygarde and support Arceus formes. One of the big things about Chi-Yu is its ability to break through these defensive staples. Zygarde and Ultra Necrozma are fine to mention.

bumboclaat implemented
  • put fire blast over flamethrower since the damage is better compared to flamethrowers accuracy but still kept flamethrower
  • reworked second to last bullet point from general hazard support to specifically mentioning smeargle and shuckle
  • added more examples in the fifth bullet point

Good to go! Sorry if I implied flamethrower should be dropped as that wasn't my intent. Just that fire blast seems a bit better on timid sets whereas flamethrower is better on modest sets. 2/2

S0A0M0I0 can you please implement this and tag me? Will stamp afterwards. I also want to note that Smogon uses the serial (Oxford) comma, meaning that there should be a comma before "and" in a list of three or more. Thanks!

It is somewhat ambiguous. please lmk when you implement, as this needs to be adjusted) is significantly worse against more offensive team structures; however, a Modest nature does much worse if Sticky Web support is removed since it can no longer outspeed support Arceus formes and Lunala.
* Chi-Yu is a very strong attacker, so a lot of the time it's its presence alone can threaten out Pokemon like Necrozma-DM, enabling either free damage or a Nasty Plot boost. Gotcha, in that case, can you change the nature(s) bullet point to the following? This is GP 1/1 afterwards. Feel free to me in natdex ubers discord @ sunny if you have any questions.
(period) but this nature Modest is significantly worse against more offensive team structures; however, as a Modest nature also does much worse if Sticky Web support is removed since it Chi-Yu can no longer outspeed support Arceus formes and Lunala.
