The Overlooked Outcasts

Welcome,
Thank you smogon for taking your time to read my new team that I have been testing.
I will appreciate any team suggestions, comments, praises would be nice, and constructive criticism.

And now to the little side bar readings that people usually skip
Introduction:
In a metagame where Blaziken takes the lonely walk of banishent into Uber territory. Metal Durian Fruits, Venomous Scorpion-Bats, Land Sharks and Rocky Skinned Dinosaurs rule the land. A team of rogue Pokemon band together in a time of desperation, they defeat others in an attempt to keep the Metagame at peace. These six creatures are recognized by outclassed skills, and overlooked by players but together they form a strong, fierce team.

The Drafting:
All I knew when I was forming this team was that I wanted Infernape. This speedy wallbreaker was first picked because of its amazing ability to counter Ferrothorn and Tyranitar, While still being a strong, yet frail, scout.

392.png

Next Infernape has great power and all but his duty is not to sweep, I wanted someone who would have good synergy with and can have his counters taken out by Infernape. So i decided to acquire the aid of Gyarados; This strong hitter was a true menace in 4th generation as most of you remember, but it doesnt mean he isnt dangerous this Generation.
392.png
130.png

Now I decided I will go ahead and add a grass-type Pokemon to complete my Grass-Fire-Water defensive synergy. I gone ahead and through out the idea of Ferrothorn for it was picked out for everyone else's team. I processed the idea for Tangrowth until I thought of a new thought, for Whimsicott, as he can allow Set-up time for Gyarados for an easy win and be a situational counter to many strong threats.

Furthermore, I needed a defensive core providing Stealth Rocks for my team and for straight up walling. As before I said I didnt want to use Ferrothorn on my team, So I went with an old favorite from last Generation.. Bronzong. The bulky bell still has a lot of walling oppurtunity when used correctly. Now someone who could sponge up special attacks with ease and cure itself with little trouble, I drafted Mandibuzz.

Ok, so I only have one more pick. After testing my VarietyGar a couple weeks back I decided to allow Gengar to accomadate my final position.

So here is the final look of the team.

Ok Now lets check out their roles on the team..

The Michievious Nomad

547Whimsicott_Dream.png

Whimsicott@Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Evs: 252 Hp - 252 SpD - 4 SpD
Impish (+Def, -SpA)

"U-Turn"
"Leech Seed"
"Worry Seed"
"Encore"

Now Whimsicott was one of the biggest hypes before Black and White were released. Even now he is a big hype
with his priority status moves. The Evs shown are to make Whimsicott as bulky as possible, because all moves
except U-turn have acess to a +1 priority. Encore provides Gyarados an easy way to get into the battle scene
and set-up. It is also a way to irritate the likes of Blissey and other pokemon who rely on Status or set-up moves.
Leech Seed is for the obvious stealing of the opponents health and restoring of yours. Now Worry Seed was my idea
for Whimsicott as it allows it to counter numerous amount of pokemon. Excadrill, Reuniclus, Garchomp in sand
and many more by switching their abilities to Insomnia.
Team Synergy:
: Infernape, Gyarados
: Infernape, Gyarados, Gengar
: Bronzong, Gengar
: Bronzong
: Bronzong, Infernape

The Scare in the Air
630Mandibuzz_Dream.png

Mandibuzz@Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
Evs: 252 Hp/ 4 Def/ 252 SpD

Careful (+SpD, -SpA)
"Brave Bird"
"Roost"
"Toxic"
"Taunt"

Now Mandibuzz has always been a favorite of mine, her design (IMO) looks Bad to the bone (Pun intended). But her
stats are what seal the deal itsbuilt with defense in mind 110/105/95 is nothing to scawf about. After adding
in the Evs, this is no longer a bird it is a flying tank. Now my moveset is a standard defensive moveset with reliable
recovery in Roost I can also get rid of my flying type for a turn, Toxic is a nifty way of spreading status to walls and
bulky sweepers, Taunt is there for the likes of Skarmory and Ferrothorn disabling their ability to set up on pokemon.
Mandibuzz doesnt always attack, but when she does, she prefers to use Brave Bird (as it is a reliable way of attacking).
Team Synergy:
: Whimsicott
: Infernape, Bronzong
: Bronzong

The Passionate Primate

392Infernape_Dream.png

Infernape@Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Evs: 252 Atk/ 4 SpA/ 252 Spe
Hasty(+Spe, -Def)
"Overheat"
"Close Combat"
"U-Turn"
"Stone Edge"

Oh Infernape, how you fell in the shadow of a Fiery Chicken.. But he was banned longly afterwards, once again
Infernape pulls his ways up the ranks to continue his roll as a top-tier Fire/Fighting type. Overheat is an instant
OHKO to almost all Ferrothorn's, Close Combat is the cornerstone of this moveset to provided an insanely strong
STAB option to decimate any Pokemon with litle defensive prowess. U-Turn allows Infernape to scout out moves
and do minor damage for breaking ballons or focus sash's. Stone Edge provides Infernape with great coverage
with Close Combat hitting Bug and Flying types Super Effectively.
Team Synergy:
: Gyarados, Whimsicott
: Bronzong
: Bronzong, Mandibuzz
: Gyarados, Whimsicott, Gengar, Bronzong, Mandibuzz (Lol)

The Gastly Joker

094Gengar_Dream.png

Gengar@Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 4 Hp/ 252 SpA/ 252 Spe
Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
"Shadow Ball"
"Focus Blast"
"Destiny Bond"
"Trick"

Now this is my VarietyGar, very unpredictable by the opponent. Scarf and max Speed allows me to outspeed All
non-scarfed pokemon above base 109 Speed, including ScarfChomp allowing me to Destiny bond the likes and ruining
their revenge killer. Destiny Bond also allows me to have a fail safe plan in case a slow Set-up sweeper becomes
out-of-hand (Conkeldurr, Reuniclus, Thunderus, and +1 Salamence) They can easily be handed with a quick Destiny
Bond thinking they can tank any of my attacks. Trick is also useful playing item roulette and what not. Ruining pokemon
like Skarmory, Blissey, Ferrothorn and more. Ive also been able to trick away Gliscor's Toxic orb every once in a while
before it is able to activate. Shadow Ball and Focus Blast are the attacking options that provide perfect coverage.
Team Synergy:
: Mandibuzz, Infernape
: Mandibuzz, Bronzong
: Manbuzz

The Dancing Leviathan

130Gyarados_Dream.png

Gyarados@Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
Evs: 4 Hp/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spe
Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)
"Dragon Dance"
"Waterfall"
"Stone Edge"
"Bounce"

The devious Serpent returns again this Generation as amazing as it ever was, I usually bring in Gyarados either
after Ferrothorn has been eliminated or when Whimsicott provided an encore for Gyarados to set up on.
Waterfall and Bounce are its main STAB options providing decent coverage all around, and with Stone Edge
fixing the coverage issue it becomes a real force to be dealt with. Also with Moxie after I knock out an enemys pokemon it
rewards me with a nice atack boost to build up its force.
Team Synergy:
: Whimsicott
: Bronzong

The Bulky Bell

437Bronzong_Dream.png

Bronzong@Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 252 Hp/ 84 Atk/ 80 Def/ 80 SpD
Relaxed (+Def, -Spe)
(2 Spe Ivs)
"Gyro Ball"
"Hidden Power [Ice]"
"Stealth Rock"
"Earthquake"

Bronzong main role in my team is to provide Stealth Rocks, yet providing strong attacking options for a variety
of pokemon. Hidden Power[Ice] is for dragons, and for bulky grass and ground types. Gyro Ball is my main STAB
option is a strong attack coming from Bronzongs low speed and average attacking stat. Earthquake is for Steel types
Who like to come in on Bronzong to wall him. Now ive been thinking of swapping Earthquake out for Rest as an
option to recover its health when it gets to low and to surprise enemys as they think there finnaly about to knock out Bronzong.
Team Synergy:
: Infernape, Gyarados

Thanks every one that went through and read all of this make sure to leave your comments and suggestions down below!

Crobats overlooked again...

Anyway, I really your team. Theres barely anything I would change about it.
Although I was hoping someone would use crobat as the stallbreaker, I see why infernape is on here.
Its a near flawless team IMO.

@ Lemonz. Thanks man, yeah crobat is overlooked but as you see lol, I dont need a Stallbreaker or a ground resist (I have plenty of those) Crobat use to be lead on teams early in this metagame.
P.s. This team still has a lot of flaws, its far from perfect.
