Hey all, welcome to my first UU RMT! I've been fiddling around with this team on the ladder for a while, and you may have seen it around- it's pretty distinctive. Anyways, here we go! All feedback appreciated, donations can be made to... well... I'll get on with it.
TEAM BUILDING PROCESS
So, this entire team started out with my love for a certain little duck.
This guy tanks hits and dishes them out like nothing. AND HE'S ADORABLE However, he's kinda slow and not really a sweeper, so I wanted to compliment him with some strong attackers.
Hey, they're all pink! That's pretty funny, beating the crap out of people with pink Pokemon. Now, let's find a Stealth Rock setter that isn't weak to the metric butt ton of Fighting types around, and has some offensive prescence.
Mew! So versatile. Let's make it offensive. And well, might as well make everything pink.
There, another strong attacker, two spinblockers, and a solid defensive pres-
And then the voices inside HappyPlant's head cried out to him... MOAR OFFENSE
However, Mismagius was not carrying it's weight (too busy levitating), and three physical sweepers was proving somewhat redundant. And so, the Pink* Team was born:
*Team may have a very liberal definition of the color pink
THE USUAL SUSPECTS
LOLcat (Mew) @ Normal Gem
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Zen Headbutt
- Magic Coat
99% of the time, this is my lead- he matches up well against any common lead bar Scarf Chandelure and Azelf. SR is SR- Mew's a great user of it because he sends most Fighting types running for the hills. Magic Coat is useful because no one expects it- No Xatu, free to set up rocks? Nope. It also helps deal with that annoying scourge of the earth that is Sableye, bouncing back Taunt and forcing a switch. Zen Headbutt is nice STAB and messes with Roserade/Nidos, but is often somewhat underwhelming and is open to change. Explosion, however, is very useful- After setting up SR and almost always tanking a hit, Mew is free to Normal Gem WTF BOOM against whatever's currently in. If it's a Rock/Steel type, whatever, switch out, but anything trying to set up (Hi Suicune/Raikou/BU Scrafty/etc) usually gets demolished or hurt to the point that I can clean up with my next Pokemon.
Der Quacken (Porygon2) @ Eviolite
Trait: Download
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 Def
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tri Attack
- Ice Beam
- Discharge
- Recover
Porygon2 does it all. This guy has 508 Special Attack after a Download boost, which is easy to get against a lot of common Pokemon like Slowbro and Rhyperior. Add that to Eviolite-backed defenses, and holy... duck that's crazy. If I need a switch-in to an attack my breakable sweepers can't handle, Porygon2 steps in to sponge it and respond in kind. Tri-Attack off 508 SpA hurts a lot and has great neutral coverage, and to round it off BoltBeam gives perfect UU coverage. I use Discharge over TBolt because the 30% paralysis is incredibly convenient against faster threats and strong attackers. Recover allows Porygon2 to be a thorn in the opponent's side for a prolonged period of time. AND HE'S SO CUTE
Mr. Jimmy Rustler (Heracross) (M) @ Salac Berry
Trait: Moxie
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 12 HP / 244 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge
Your standard Choice Sc- nope. This Heracross is my ace, and I aim to keep him and his Salac Berry intact until the moment is right. The game plan is to switch him in occasionally if I'm surely faster than something and can kill it, get a moxie boost, and feign a scarf. Later in the match, after priority users and faster Scarfers are down, Sub on an obvious switch. Sub as necessary until Salac range is reached, and proceed to rustle jimmies. This guy has turned matches from 2-6 into 2-0's for me. Moves are fairly standard, 2 STABs and Stone Edge to make Flying types sad. 12 HP EVs give him an HP stat divisible by 8, so he can switch into SR twice and still be at an even 75% instead of 1 HP above due to roundoff. Then, Salac Berry activates after 2 subs when at 25% than after 3 when at 25.3% or something like that.
Apeist (Darmanitan) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sheer Force
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Rock Slide
- Superpower
I think we all know what Darmanitan does. FLARE BLITZ LOLS But actually, this guy is useful to me for more than Flare Blitzing the other team until they resemble an episode of "Planet Earth: Volcanoes". Darmanitan allows me to deal with Sableye, preventing him from annoying my special attackers or neutering my Heracross (and when it was on the team, Honchkrow) with WoW. Rock Slide allows me to OHKO any Chandelure on the planet before it can hit me, and U-Turn gives me a nice VoltTurn combo with Rotom as well as dealing a decent chunk to any Slowbro in the area. Flare Blitz generally doesn't allow for clean sweeps, but Darmanitan is the main hole-puncher of the team, OHKOing a pretty good chunk of the UU tier and getting 2 or 3 Pokemon out of the way if I play him right.
Dinomight (Nidoking) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
I replaced Honchkrow with Nidoking because of the fundamental problems behind having 3 frail physical sweepers- Gligar and Cofagrigus. Gligar was a huge problem if Porygon2 was down, so Nidoking gives me another way to deal with him. However, past that, Nidoking has more coverage than AT&T dreams of having. That plus having a typing that resists Fighting, SR, Bug, and keeps Raikou and Zapdos at bay makes him a great switch into other Heracross, Electric types, and the like. He's decently fast and crazy powerful, and rolls through things Darmanitan and Heracross wish they could.
Error 404 (Rotom) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 208 Spd / 4 SDef / 44 HP
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp
- Trick
This guy has so many uses, I'll do my best to hit them all. Levitate makes him a great switch into obvious ground moves. His Ghost typing allows him to spinblock and make Hitmontop's life difficult, and be immune to Fighting and Normal. Volt Switch allows him to pivot and perform some mighty fine VoltTurn antics with Darmanitan, as well as deal a decent chunk to Slowbro and Blastoise. Shadow Ball is a OHKO on any Chandelure, and with the EVs given he outspeeds Timid Scarf Chandy and can proceed to eliminate it. WoW allows me to annoy most Pokemon and destroy physical attackers chances of doing anything. The EV's given are to outspeed Scarf Heracross by one, so in an emergency I can WoW it and prevent it from wrecking my team. The coup de grace, however, is Trick. Trick is such a great move- anything that trys to set up on Rotom gets messed up, walls get messed up, Eviolite Pokemon get messed up, etc. Wanna Foresight? You've identified Rotom, you get to do it over and over now. Sub forever, I don't care. Please, CM for days. That scarf looks good on you. Rotom's only problem is he's somewhat frail- directly switching him in on anything that isn't from a wall or a ground/fighting/normal attack yields very bad results. And yes, he's red, but that's just a really dark pink, no?
THREATS
So there you have it-the Pink Team in all of it's glory. I'll be compiling a threats list at a later time- it's 2 AM here and I should probably sleep, especially after rereading that duck pun I made. Feel free to leave constructive comments/luvdiscs/any cash you may have on hand!
