The Rachel Scott Memorial Thread (And a Challenge to Forum Members)

April 20th was the 10th anniversary of the horrible shooting at Columbine. Rachel Scott was the first person killed in the attacks. She kept six diaries where she wrote down her beliefs about spreading kindness and compassion with everyone. She stopped a depressed student who had planned to commit suicide on the day he planned to do it by following her principles! Before she died, she wrote an essay about her beliefs, and came up with five principles:

1. Eliminate Prejudice by looking for the best in others
2. Dare to Dream - Set Goals - Keep a Journal
3. Choose your influences - Input equals output
4. Kind Words - Small acts of kindness = HUGE impact
5. Start a Chain Reaction with family and friends

I recently found the official site of Rachel's family at www.rachelschallenge.com, and this one website has changed my life.

I have accepted Rachel's Challenge, and I will follow the above principles in my life. This thread is not just a memorial to Rachel, but to compassion and friendship too. I challenge all members of Smogon to accept Rachel's Challenge and put it into your signature that you have (you don't need to put the principles, just say that you have accepted the challenge). We need to be a welcoming community to everybody, and being kind to anyone at anytime is always a good thing to do.

Let's Start a Chain Reaction

I know you have nothing but good intentions here mate, but I'm not sure everyone is willing to put aside their entire sig for this. 6 lines is the limit, after all, and coincidentally that's how long your phrase is. Besides, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I already do all of these things anyway lol.
