Welcome to my first RMT on Smogon. Over the last year or two, I have been studying and battling competitively in Pokemon. As I started to learn everything, from which Pokemon were good and how they could do against others, this has probably been a great experience in my life. Anyways, moving on, my best team last generation was a Sun Team that accumulated over 200 wins, and lost every here and there. Carrying on with Generation 6, I had problems. With no permanent weather, a lot of new mechanics put in place, and the now infamous Fairy Type, I've been trying to find my way around this Generation. I have finally made a team, and now I want to know how I can make it better. I may reject or counter some things though, so take that in mind. Let's get this started, shall we?

Mars, The Dragonite that Refuses to Lose
Item: Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Extreme Speed
Mars is the main physical attacker on my team, meant to use his great bulk to take advantage of one of the best items for him, Weakness Policy. Taking any SE move that would hit him with ease due to Multiscale, he can get a Dragon Dance out for maximum damage and some speed. I prefer this over Agility since I need more damage and I have Espeed to cover most threats faster than me after this anyway. This thing is really deadly, and I use mostly prediction to take Pokemon out with it. Plus, it's a solid counter to the annoying Mega Kangaskhan, which seems to think Sucker Punch will get it out of everything.

(who doesn't use this gif lol)
Apollo, the Volcarona Who Defies Destiny
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 SDef
Bold Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Giga Drain
- Quiver Dance

Apollo is my main Special Attacker for this team, and has the bulk to do it. With the greastest boosting move for it in Quiver Dance, it can take Hydro Pumps easily. It can also take a beating from any physical attack except for Rock Moves. With great natural bulk, after just one or two QD boosts, he can just sweep teams. The only problem is, it can't take any statuses, but Lucario can take Poisons and Thundurus can take T-Waves for it, so not much of a problem anymore. I love this Pokemon in general, but Rocks man :/

Pluto, the Thundurus That Conquers Worlds
Item: Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Taunt
- Thunder Wave
- Grass Knot
- Thunderbolt
With Pluto here recently getting unbanned, I wanted to use him. Due to the fact that he his faster than every other Prankster Pokemon and can take care of leads easily, I find him a really useful Pokemon in general. My main thing to always start out with is Taunt against Setters, and then I have T-Wave for the general parahax setting, as it is still a great status this generation. Grass Knot is to stop annoying Ground Types that would usually take all of these moves like nothing, and Thunderbolt is there for the general STAB + coverage it gets off. I run a Modest Nature for more damage and the Sash since well, Thundurus's Defenses suck with what weaknesses it has.

Vulcan, the Lucario That Mastered Aura Evolution
Item: Lucarionite
Ability: Justified / Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Ice Punch

Vulcan (Lucario) is the Mega I decided to run for this generation and team. With a very solid attack stat, great moves, and having one of the best abilities in this game, I decided to use him after I fell out with a different Pokemon. Being a classic fan favorite, I'm amazed I haven't seen this one used more. Most likely due to Talonflame, which I find a bit depressing. Anyways, moving on, Vulcan is my secondary attacker on this team, and is made to smash anything into bits. I have it switch in on certain Pokemon, get a Swords Dance up, then prepare to take teams out. I don't keep him out though if the risk is too great. The best part about Lucario, is the fact that he can take out any Fairy Types, which have become a great nuisance in this generation. But, I won't carry on talking about it.

meloetta___the_club_can__t_even_handle_me_right_now_by_mast3rlinkx-d5gji4x.gif

Diana, the Meloetta Who Parties to the Moon
Item: Assault Vest
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Charge Beam
- Energy Ball
- Hyper Voice
Diana has been sort of my Special Attacker meant to just take hits from special attacks. With Assault Vest, it's scary how much it can take, but it seems a bit lackluster to me. Anyways, Charge Beam is for stacking up Special Attack to take care of opponents easier, and the other moves are for coverage and STABs. Meloetta is a great Pokemon, but I feel like it isn't working for me. I may replace it with Alakazam or anything you guys can come up with.

Venus, the Latias Who Cares for All
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Defog

Venus is the main tank on this team that also serves as my hazard clearer and screen stopper. Since it has Defog, it can switch in and abuse this great new move, whilst taking a hit. Calm Mind is to cover up for the Special Defense part I left open, whilst I gave it max Defense so it can take regular attacks. I have Dragon Pulse and Surf on it for my natural attacking moves, and I did not rely on Roost sadly because of the fact Defog is an important part to keeping this team's deadliest Pokemon alive.

Difficulties With This Team and its Counters:

Sand Rush Excadrill:
Since they unbanned this thing with the weather nerf, it has been a pain in my butt. The only real counter I have to it is Latias, but even then I get 2HK'd. It's something I'm still working on trying to figure out, and will hopefully become something I figure out in the future.

Mega Mawile:
Generally, it is becoming less and less of problem, especially since I can counter it with Volcarona really easily. But if someone knows how to play this thing, it's really annoying to me and how I play my team. I haven't seen it much though, so it may not be a temperament.

I'm having troubles thinking of any difficulties at the moment guys, so excuse this section for being so small. I'm sure there are more, I just haven't figured them out.

Make sure you be careful for scarfed terrakions. Your only major counter is lucario, so be careful when facing a terrakion and make sure to save your lucario for it. Also, a lot of your pokemon are weak to stealth rocks, so make sure you don't let any pokes set up. Otherwise, it looks great :D

Your team seems a bit weak to Tyranitar since nothing on your team can switch into it and Ttar has multiple oppurtunities to switch in(Latias, Meleotta and Thundurus if it is Sp Defensive). If its a DD set it and rocks are up it could probably could sweep through all of your team after a DD (If Thundurus had fainted and can't TWave).
This isn't too much of a rate but i would suggest you switch out Energy Ball or Charge Beam (depending on which one you find least useful) on Mel.eotta for Focus Blast to hit Ttar better.
If Meleotta still does't seem usefull enough, you should switch it out for a fast scarfer (maybe Keldeo) to help with speed boosting sweepers.

The team in general is a little weak to rock types as your only resist is lucario, and that can get a little taxing for him. You really need to watch out for fast rock types, like terrakion, as they can really open up holes in your team.
As far as latias goes, calm mind seems a little out of place. You have no offensive investment and no recovery, and your latias seems like it doesn't know what to do. What i'd recommend is going offensive (like this team) and replacing it with a latios
Latios (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
- Defog

This set provides you with an offensive defogger that doesn't waste turns. He can outspeed a lot of common non-scarfers and put pressure on common rotom-w/lando-t cores. All while bluffing a choiced set quite nicely. Draco meteor is on there for pretty obvious reasons, thunderbolt and surf are just there for coverage. Defog is there to remove hazards, duh
Anyway, this team is pretty interesting, best of luck!

Hello.

Prett solid team you have here I like the use of Mega Lucario so props to you on thatCouple of issues I can see in your team is that your team has a slight weakness to Talonflame because if your Latias doesn't get to Defog the rocks away and Talonflame gets up a Swords Dance it can easily sweep your team with just one Brave Bird,so to help remedy that I recommend you try out Physical Defensive Rotom-Wash over Meloetta since it's type provides an excelent check to Talonflame and Tyranitar which could be troublesome to your team but if you plan on using Rotom-Wash you can burn it and Tyranitar won't be that big of a threat as it is rendered useless by Will-O-Wisp.And it provides really good synergy with Dragonite and Volcarona.

On Volcarona I recommend you try out Passho Berry over Leftovers so you can take on Water types better and get their HP with Giga Drain and abuse it with your EV Spread and take pitiful damage on stuff like Tentacruel or Keldeo which means they aren't going to cause much problems.

Recommend you try out ExtremeSpeed over Ice Punch on Lucario since Lucario doesn't really need to deal with Dragon types becaused he resists a blow and he will knock them out with Priority Bullet Punch and with Adaptability and STAB it can be extremely deadly with ExtremeSpeed after you hit somebody with Bullet Punch.

One little nitpick:Run 0 IV's in attack on Volcarona.Latias and Thundurus so stuff like Klefki don't mess you up with Swagger and Foul Play which can be quite problematic to your team if your not lucky.

Sets:

Rotom Wash @ Leftovers/Chesto Berry
Ability:Levitate
EV's: 240 HP / 196 Def / 70 Spd
IV's: 0 Atk
Bold Nature
-Will-O-Wisp
-Pain Split/Rest
-Hydro Pump
-Volt Switch

Hope my suggestions were helpful or at least thought-provoking.

It was an honor rating your team!
:D

Your team looks really solid. I like the prediction aspect of this team. The only thing that I don't like about this team is Ice Punch on Lucario, I'd replace it with Crunch to hit things like Jellicent and other Ghosts. (Also, Aegislash?). And about Latias...I don't think that the set that he has really works for him. One toxic or WoW, or even TW means he's really useless. Thundurus can't really take much hits, so he's more like a revenge killed than Taunter. I'd suggest you either switch Latias to Rotom - W or Skarmory with defog, and replacing Meloeta with Gothillete to shadow tag and set up. Sure, being able to kill Gengar after Shadow Ball failure is good, but it really doesn't do anything else.

Hey man, the biggest thing i see here is a weakness to tyranitar, specifically the SpD Rocks set that every one loves, even more specifically, Stealth Rocks. Now, I love Defog Latias as much as the next guy, and I love Defog as a move! However, having 3 pokemon weak to stealth rock puts a LOT of pressure on Latias to defog, enough where all the opponent needs to do is set up rocks and somehow keep Latias from defogging. Also in response to the above poster, I absolutely abhor the prediction aspect of the team. Relying on prediction to win a battle is a pretty poor way to run a match, and eventually runs you into the ground. Also, several things about your team dont really make sense, as it seems like you kind of threw together some sweepers, added on latias, and called it a day.

First off, I highly recommend running Roost>Calm Mind First off, this gives you more longevity in a match, and calm mind doesnt really do anything anyway. Now, im going to assume mega lucario is your main condition, so im going to base my rate off that!

Now mega luke really enjoys things like aegislash gone, which your team does a p good job at. However, as i said before, your team has trouble coming in on it because of rocks and how latias is really pressured. I think running Chople Berry SpD TTar helps fix this a little by nailing aegislash with Fire Blast or Crunch, as well as setting up Stealth Rocks, and it also helps soooo much with Mega Gengar. Really, you can out it over either dragonite or Volcarona. Adding Tyranitar also gives you a solid dark/fighting/psychic core with latias and mega luke. It also gives you a nice check/counter/whatever to Talonflame, who currently eats you alive with Rocks up. I also highly recommend Extremespeed on Luke, as priority is simply golden in this metagame. It allows you to pick off things early on, allowing for an easier sweep, and also allows you to KO Talonflame at +2.

I do however like the Thunderus addition, as luke appreciates priority Thunder Wave. However, switching an extra 4 evs into HP stops your hp from being broken by 3 seismic tosses. A very minor thing, but its not like thunderus needs to outspeed anything with full investment (plus you're running modest, so yeah).

I think that meloetta is a pretty mediocre pokemon, and there are better pokemon to do whatever youre trying to do with it anyway. I think running Amoongus gives you nice utility, especially as a pivot against Azumarill, who is really bad for your team. Its also a good pivot against fairies in general, with its good poison typing and its ability to Spore or paralyze incoming switchins, giving mega lucario more opportunities to sweep. This gives you a nice switchin to spore users and things like rotom-w.

Now lastly, you said things like Sand Rush Excadrill gives you problems, and so does this is mitigated somewhat by Latias, but it's still a problem, especially with the addition of tyranitar. Now as much as weakness policy dragonite is a p cool set, you can run Air Balloon Heatran to be able to come in on earthquakes and ko, or force the switch out. This also gives you extra insurance against talonflame, as well as Aegislash, and in general being a nice pokemon.

TL;DR
Meloetta--->Amoonguss
Dragonite--->SpD Chople Tyranitar
Volcarona--->Air Balloon Heatran
4 HP/ 252 SpA/ 252 Spe Thunderus--->8 HP/ 252 SpA/ 248 Spe
Calm Mind Latias--->Roost Latias
Ice Punch Lucario--->Extremespeed Lucario
