The Rusty Team, Haha.

So, I got back into competitive battling about a month ago, and you could say im a liiiiiitle rusty, haha. This team is a starting point that I conceived by working with the Marriland Team builder. Please help me with this, I need something to work off of. Personally, I find OU kind of boring, but yet most of the people I know play OU, so I would like to stand a chance.
[all sets have smogon ev's/iv's, for chosen set.]
Aerodactyl.gif

Aerodactyl@Focus Sash, Jolly nature, Pressure.
~stealth rock
~ice fang
~taunt
~stone edge

This is a lead that I selected for the purpose of intimidation(not the ability, lol.) Taunt is a move that I particularly like, because it seems like ALLLLLLLL of the leads these days have moves like SR. and trick room. Is it just me, or are these moves(more of trick room, but SR only doesn't bother me when I have a Spinner or am using a sandstorm team or something like that.)really, really annoying? Yea. Also, I like the Ice Fang to fend off those pesky grass and ground/rock pokémon.

gengar.png

Gengar@Life Orb, Levitate, Timid Nature.
~shadow ball
~thunderbolt
~focus blast
~explosion
Gengar is one of my particularly favorite pokemon, so using it as a sweeper is nothing short of amazing in my opinion. I would use a Specs or Scarf version, but gengar has a great movepool for a special attacker, and I wouldnt want that to go to waste. It outspeeds Gyra, so I could swich it in on a predicted move, and thunderbolt for the OHKO. Nice sweeper.

Gyarados.png

Gyarados@Choice Band, Intimidate, Adamant Nature.
~Waterfall
~Ice Fang
~Stone Edge
~Earthquake.
Here we are, Gyarados. This is one of the most influential OU pokemon since D/P. I was using like all of the standard first smogon d/p sets for the previous sets, and I wanted to spice things up with a Choice Band. This set just mows pokes' down. I intended this to be a late game sweeper, but I'm gonna use it as an all-around sweeper.

Bronzong.png

Bronzong@Leftovers, Levitate, Sassy Nature
~rest
~sleep talk
~gyro ball
~earthquake

Bronzong is a nice defensive pokemon, and however I think they are very annoying myself, its only natural in compettitive battling to be hypocritical. This RestTalk set is a dandy one if I do say so myself, and it takes care of annoying people(haha.) and getting a switch, which is vital to pretty much every team out there. If only bronzong was fast and had a high attack stat....haha.

Machamp.png

Machamp@Leftovers, Adamant Nature, No Guard.
~bulk up
~dynamicpunch
~ice punch
~payback

Machamp is a pokemon that I personally havent used much, but in the several battles I have used it in, it has completely swept my opponent. I swich it in to a weary special attack, and start my rampage. The payback takes care of psychic swiches and pokemon like Gengar and Dusknoir.

dpmfa145.png

Zapdos@Life Orb, Modest Nature, Pressure.
~thunderbolt
~heat wave
~hidden power grass
~roost
Zapdos, more commonly used defensively, which I dont like using, is a very reliable pokemon. I like taking advantage of its high special attack and using it as more of a sweeper than a wall or a defensive set. Unfortunately, this adds a third Rock weakness to my team, but I think I can get past that with some suggestions and help. Please post a suggestion. Thanks.

Hey, welcome to Smogon!

I hate to look like a "junior mod" or something, but you might want to expand your descriptions a bit or someone might lock your thread.

Welcome to Smogon. Like others have said, your descriptions are not up to the standards required in this forum. Read the rules and take a look at our RMT archive - at the top of the page - then feel free to make a new RMT.

Locking this under rule 3:

RMT rules said:
3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.
