Hi, my name is Gridirion, and here is my Smogon OU RMT on my favorite team that I've ever used before, The Scarf Bluffer Team. It works effectively, strategicely, and just a little bit originally. So enjoy the RMT and I look forward to your suggestions!
How I Built This Team
I started with Heatran. I wanted to build my team around it. It's a great Scarf Bluffer and can get many sweeps. Now I just had to make pokemon that could revolve around it and support it.
I added Scizor. With every Heatran must come a Scizor. Scizor is a great scouter for anything that Heatran can or cannot kill in a single or multiple blows, and these two cover each other's weaknesses fairly well.
MixMence was a crucial and much needed support on both sides of synergy and extreme damage. Mence's Ice Weakness can be covered by both Tran and Scizor, while Mence can cover Tran's Fighting, Ground, and Water weaknesses and sometimes even fire attacks as well.
I figured Wall Zapdos was also good support and could help kill those nasty Swamperts with Hidden Power Grass. It can also kill anything Mence or Scizor can't with things such as Thunderbolt or Heat Wave. It's also an amazing staller with Roost.
I had to put a lead somewhere, so I tried out ScarfRachi Lead. At first it played fair, but then it started to not be so effective, so I figured that my last had to be able to help Jirachi.
I added Machamp, because I thought it would help ScarfRachi the best. It helped, but not by alot, so I decided to change the team around.
I saw that alot of people were using Stallbreaker Gliscor lead, so I decided to try it out. It worked like a charm, it could beat basically any lead in one way or another. But the problem was that now I didn't have a pokemon that had Stealth Rock, so I knew I had to change something around.
I decided to replace Machamp with Swampert seeing as he could be a great Roar scouter and Stealth Rocker, and could be an overall good wall addition to the team. So without further ado, here are the sets!
Gliscor @ Leftovers
Jolly Nature
Sand Veil
252 HP/36 Def/220 Speed
Moves:
-Earthquake
-Taunt
-Roost
-U-Turn
Gliscor is an amazing lead, I'm sure you've heard about it. It can Taunt any setup leads such as Smeargle and Roserade and can U-Turn out or Earthquake after that to gain a good quick advantage. Jolly Nature helps outrun leads such as Roserade and Mamoswine and others. Max HP gives Gliscor much needed bulk, and I run just that 4 more EVs in speed to outspeed other Gliscor leads. Earthquake is the STAB move that can hit Metagross and Infernape leads, Taunt stops any setup from Smeargle and Roserade, Roost to remove that flying type for one turn to help stall out, and U-Turn to generally break sashes or get a good scouting.
Gliscor vs Other Leads
Aerodactyl: U-Turn predicting the Taunt and to break the sash.
Azelf: Take a Psychic and U-Turn for nice damage.
Bronzong: Taunt predicting Rain Dance, Reflect, or Stealth Rock and then U-Turn out. If he explodes, it's not that bad, considering I can still get up Rocks with Swampert.
Gliscor: Taunt and then U-Turn out.
Heatran: Sometimes Taunt if I think Fire Blast is coming, but generally U-Turn considering Tran can live an Earthquake with Shuca Berry.
Infernape: Take the Fake Out, then Taunt or Earthquake.
Jirachi: A U-Turn is probably coming, so my job is to U-Turn out after he U-Turns out to something.
Mamoswine: I can take an Ice Shard, so U-Turn is the best idea, and if he decides to SR or Ice Fang, I can go to Scizor.
Metagross: Taunt to stop Stealth Rocks and then Earthquake until he dies.
Roserade: Taunt to stop the Sleep Powder/Toxic Spikes and then U-Turn or EQ to break the Sash.
Smeargle: Taunt to stop any form of setup then Earthquake until he switches.
Swampert: If I think my opponent is smart enough to Ice Beam expecting Taunt, I'll U-Turn. If not, I'll Taunt and then U-Turn.
Heatran @ Expert Belt
Timid Nature
Flash Fire
4 HP/252 Sp.Att/252 Speed
Moves:
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Hidden Power Electric
-Explosion
The heart and soul of this team, Heatran. It's the one and only Scarf Bluffer, and guess what, it works like a charm. You switch into Gyarados, I use Fire Blast, you expect a switch, but I just used HP Electric and you just died. Max Special Attack and Speed EVs for maximum sweeping and power capabilities. Fire Blast is the STAB move and hits hard on things like Celebi, Roserade, Skarmory, Metagross and others. Earth Power can hit other Heatrans, Hidden Power Electric gets those stingy Gyarados's and Explosion when I'm low on HP and the guy expects a switch after a move such as Fire Blast or Earth Power.
Scizor @ Choice Band
Adamant Nature
Technician
64 HP/252 Att/8 Speed/168 Sp.Def
Moves:
-U-Turn
-Bullet Punch
-Superpower
-Pursuit
Choice Banded Scizor is incredibly standard, I hardly feel I have to explain myself with it. With a whopping 591 Attack with Choice Band, its attacks are sure to do tons of damage. U-Turn is the ultimate purpose of Scizor, which scouts out for any pokemon and goes to a relative counter or check for that pokemon. Bullet Punch is the 2nd STAB move and is the priority move, providing excellent power with Technician and STAB boosts, it can help knock out sweepers before they knock out you. Superpower helps against Steels and Fightings, being able to use a 120 base power move to knock 'em out hard, and Pursuit, for those stingy Latias's and Rotom-A's who try to switch out.
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
Pressure
248 HP/228 Def/38 Speed
Moves:
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power Grass
-Heat Wave
-Roost
Zapdos wall is quite an amazing one. It can live super effective hits better than most pokes, and can Roost off that damage. Bold Nature and 228 Defense EVs give it enough Defensive bulk, along with the 248 HP EVs, to be a successful wall. The 38 speed also helps it outspeed things like Adamant Max Speed Scizor, and can counter things just like Scizor. Thunderbolt is the STAB move and hits anything not ground type with big success, Hidden Power Grass gets those nasty Swamperts, and Heat Wave hits those Scizors, Bronzongs, and prevents Zapdos from being walled by Celebi. Roost can help you stall after taking a few hits and then just loosing the Flying Type to take super effective hits easier.
Salamence @ Life Orb
Naive Nature
Intimidate
40 Att/216 Sp.Att/252 Speed
Moves:
-Draco Meteor
-Fire Blast
-Earthquake
-Outrage
MixMence is a really standard but really amazing pokemon in this new era of the OU metagame of Pokemon. The Life Orb gives it much needed power with the Naive Nature. Although, Naive Nature does give you Max speed, which means you're sure to outspeed lots of things, including sometimes Mence, Gliscor, Lucario, and others. Not much Attack EVs are needed, only 40 is necessary to make Salamence a good attacker on the physical side, but then 216 Special Attack is needed on the Special Side to make it a heavy attacker on the special side. Draco Meteor is the 1st STAB move, and is great for hitting anything like Gliscor, Celebi, Latias, Zapdos, you name it.
Swampert @ Leftovers
Relaxed Nature
Torrent
252 HP/252 Def/4 Sp.Att
Moves:
-Stealth Rock
-Earthquake
-Ice Beam
-Roar
Swampert, the final Pokemon of the team and the guy with Stealth Rocks. It provides such great bulk that it makes it so useful to stall with. Stealth Rocks obviously help kill anything weak to it and helps scout for an item as well. Max HP and Defense give it serious bulk. Earthquake is the STAB move and can hit Jirachis and Scizors quite hard. Ice Beam can hit Latias decently and Gliscor and Mence very hard. Roar is the final move, and is a great scouting move after Stealth Rocks are up.
So that's the team, I look forward to your suggestions!
