Hey so I really really really hate that Latias is OU. That pink little freak is far too versatile and evil to be allowed in OU. That said, everybody uses it, except of course for the kid who refuses to use Legendaries in OU. So then I resolved to make a team around beating that abomination into the ground. As it turned out, its quite effective against most teams on Shoddy so I thought I'd put it up here.
Swampert
HP 252/Attack 4/Defense 252
Relaxed
Leftovers
Earthquake
Surf
Roar
Stealth Rock
One of my favorite leads, only because I've consistently lost against any team that has Swampert as a lead. Clearly the aim is to set up stealth rock and provide lovely coverage with those moves and to absorb physical hits and electric attacks. He's also fantastic for roaring away Calm Mind users.
Tyranitar
HP 4/Attack 252/Speed 252
Jolly
Choice Scarf
Crunch
Pursuit
Earthquake
Stone Edge
So wonderful. I absolutely love what Tyranitar does for a team. With Choice Scarf he can take out quite a few threats. Able to take down Starmie and Infernape AND Salamence while absorbing trick is a beautiful thing. Also, he kills Latias. Getting a face full of pursuit is never a fun time.
Blissey
HP 24/Defense 252/Special Defense 232
Calm
Leftovers
Wish
Protect
Thunder Wave
Seismic Toss
It's a Blissey. We all know its job, I'm too tired to write this one out.
Skarmory
HP 252/Attack 64/Defense 176/Speed 16
Impish
Shed Shell
Spikes
Brave Bird
Whirlwind
Roost
I honestly never use Roost so I'm very open to other options. That said, the Skarm-Bliss combo is as effective as ever kids. I rarely get the chance to throw down spikes so I'm thinking about switching it to Stealth Rock just in case Swampert doesn't get to lay anything down. Brave Bird is for those odd fighting types that show up and wreck your day. Whirlwind is helpful for anything that tries to bulk up, sometimes I like to use Whirlwind when it's unexpected and I get a free shuffle through entry hazards.
Scizor
HP 240/Attack 252/Speed 16
Adamant
Choice Band
Bullet Punch
U-turn
Pursuit
Superpower
This Scizor has one purpose: To end Latias. By accomplishing that, he effectively nullifies any ghosts that come in to play. Bullet Punch is the old standby and I love spamming with it until I get results. I tend to bring in Scizor mid game once I've seen most of the enemy's team. If I haven't seen the team, scouting with U-Turns is highly effective.
Lanturn
HP 40/Defense 216/Special Defense 252
Calm
Leftovers
Confuse Ray
Thunder Wave
Surf
Thunderbolt
This little guy can out-stall anything in the metagame. He can also deal with next to any sweeper because few pokemon out there consistently rock sets that can OHKO him. Whenever I am unsure as to what to do in a battle, I go to him. This tactic becomes evident when about half my opposing team is paralyzed from him and Blissey launching status all over the place.
Threat List:
There are only three, sorry, but nothing has consistently beat me. I've also gone about 17 wins 3 losses so there is still work to be done.
Infernape: Any variant that uses Grass Knot can defeat my entire team. By launching Grass, Fire, and Fighting, it can OHKO everything.
Roserade: Grass and status and fast. Nothing could be deadlier to this team. My only solution is Skarmory but if he goes to sleep, bad times.
Vaporeon: The one thing that Lanturn can't seem to out-stall. Also Blissey has trouble since she normally throws Toxic my way.
Well let me know what you think. Feedback is great!
