This team was made by a collaboration between myself and a friend. We both had been having reasonable success with our teams, but we decided to combine our teambuilding talents and build one together. I chose three pokes, and so did he. This team is called the shiny gang, just because we made them all shiny, as a way to keep track of the team.
Team Building
He picked Forretress for the lead, Scarfed Chandelure for the revenge killer, and SpecsMence for the sweeper. I chose Milotic, Mew, and Blissey for the stalling core.
The team worked very well, but we changed it slightly. SpecsMence kinda sucked, as it didn't have very much bulk or chemistry with Chandelure, so we changed it to ScarfTar, which worked much better. I also changed Mew, which I had been using for statusing and Baton passing, to Sub Breloom. The last change we made was changing Forry for Swampert. Because of team preview, Forretress would often not be the lead. If I couldn't get him out early to set up hazards, he became deadweight. Swampert has much more general use late game.
Team Strategy
This team is based off of Blissey and Milotic. Together they form a near indestructible special wall. Basically, I use Chandelure for most kills. When a special sweeper that resists the move I am locked into comes in to threaten it I switch to Blissey or Milotic. I then predict a resisted hit and come back into Chandelure for the KO. If the threat is physical, I do the same thing with Swampert or occasionally Ttar.
Tyranitar and Breloom form and alternate strategy if Milotic/Bliss/Lure/Pert fails. Breloom can spore and sub for the occasional important kill. If something comes in that can't be touched by seed bomb or focus punch, I sub into Ttar for the KO.
The best part about this team is its adaptability. If Chandelure is KOed early, then Tyranitar and Breloom can sweep. If Milotic is lost early, Swampert and Ttar can share special walling duties.
That said this team has problems. Entry hazards are annoying, and I don't have a rapid spinner. Priority users, especially Sucker Punch, also cripples this team. Furthermore, because my lead is my only dedicated physical wall, determined duos or trios of quick physical sweepers can break through
Pokemon
Swampert: Relaxed, Torrent. Leftovers
255 HP, 128 D, 124 Special D
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Scald
Roar
Pert is a surprisingly effective lead in this gen. It just about always manages to set up Rocks. It can burn with Scald and 2HKO or 3HKO most sweepers. Roar is my only only real answer to enemies with Sub or stat-upping moves, as I don't have Taunt anywhere on my team.
Many people say that Swampert isn't any good this gen because of all the powerful new grass types. Because of team preview, I argue the exact opposite. When most people see that I lead with Pert, they switch their lead to some grass type. Knowing that they might do this, I have the option to switch to Shadow Tag Chandelure, who can OHKO the grass type with fire blast.
Chandelure: Modest, Shadow Tag. Choice Scarf
252 Sp atk, 252 speed, 4 HP
Fire Blast
Shadow Ball
Energy Ball
Psychic
The premier special sweeper of this generation, in my humble opinion. Scarfed, Chandelure is an excellent revenge killer. Because of Shadow tag and the wide variety of attacking moves available to him, Lure can come in and trap something, proceeding to KO with a super effective move, or, failing that, STAB Shadow Ball/Fire Blast.
Chandelure also has just enough bulk to take a few resisted hits.
Blissey: Calm, Natural Cure. Leftovers
252 Special Defense, 252 HP, 4 D
Heal Bell
Softboiled
Ice Beam
Toxic
A pretty standard set for a Blissey. Heal Bell gets rid of status, notably Toxic on Milotic or paralysis on Chandelure. Blissey specially walls like a champ, and can do reasonable damage with the combo of Toxic and Ice Beam. I am considering changing Ice Beam for Flamethrower, as Milotic already has ice beam.
Milotic: Bold, Marvel Scale, Leftovers
255 HP, 128 D, 124 Special D
Scald
Ice Beam
Recover
Toxic
I like this set better than the RestTalking one, due to its versatility. In my opinion, Milotic is the most underrated Toxic staller in the metagame. Recover can make this thing incredibly difficult to take down, and Scald and Ice Beam do excellent damage for a wall.
Breloom: Adamant, Toxic Orb, Toxic Heal
252 ATK, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Spore
Substitute
Focus Punch
Seed Bomb
An interesting Poke to be sure. Focus Punch is always good when my team desperately needs a KO. Seed Bomb is a good answer to CroCune and RestTalk Milotic. Spore/Sub can be quite annoying to face and gratifying to use.
Notably, Breloom form a Water/Grass/Fire core with Milotic/Breloom/Chandelure.
Tyranitar: Adamant, Choice Scarf, Sand Stream
252 ATK, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Earthquake
Crunch
Stone Edge
Superpower
A good backup for everything else. This can wall, sweep, or do both simultaneously. With Scarf, it also outspeeds most walls and some slow sweepers, allowing for powerful, steady damage. Ttar is very reliable.
I am considering trading in this set for a bulky DD set.
