Call me scum or insane or whatever you want; you wouldn’t be wrong. Regardless, I have done the unspeakable and constructed a stall team that will bring maximum pain to those who dare oppose the Stall – or at least I try to bring pain. (There’s actually quite a lot of people who dare oppose the stall, and my status as an inexperienced underling in the Stall doesn’t help matters.)
Stall Descriptions
Hide Yo Kids (Chansey) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Heal Bell
"Gluttony is a sin. Chansey is a sin. Chansey is gluttony."
The Queen of Vice, also known as Satan Incarnate. Stands in the way of any special attacker you care to name, only falling to physical attacks that are powerful enough.
Note here that I have opted for Stealth Rock on Chansey, as it is a good user of it, given the amount of switches it forces. Seismic Toss is nothing to ignore either, as 100 constant damage can put a dent in anyone.
This accursed creature should not have Eviolite, as now it becomes physically bulky.
Hide Yo $ (Sableye) @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Foul Play
"Greed is a sin. Sableye is a sin. Sableye is greed."
This vile creature stands in the way of any Stealth Rocker – well, most of them. Clefable and some Heatrans and Landorus-Ts can muscle past him, but that’s what teammates are for.
It can also deter stallbreakers that rely on Taunt to do their work.
He stands in the way of physical attackers, working together with Skarmory. After successfully Burning them, either wall can laugh at the enemies’ futile attempts to inflict damage, chuckling as they slowly and painfully burn to the ground.
These fools don’t realize it is futile to fight the Stall. Sableye can teach them a lesson about the harshness of the Stall. (Ironically, Sableye also makes a somewhat decent stallbreaker.)
Hide Yo Husband (Skarmory) @ Shed Shell
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
"Hardened carapace is nigh impenetrable by frontal assaults. Extraordinary wing strength grant it the ability to force enemies back into their Poké Ball, and the ability to send any entry hazards flying."
Skarmory, once a noble creature, is now in service to the Stall, as a Defog user and means of standing in the way of physical attackers.
Defog is a critical asset, given that Stall doesn’t really feel like stepping on ever-painful Spikes whenever they make a switch.
Whirlwind stops anyone who is foolish enough to setup in front of Skarmory, and Roost gives back health – which is needed due to the Shed Shell Skarmory holds.
Hide wha? (Quagsire) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Earthquake
- Toxic
"Unmatched stupidity makes it too stupid to obey common laws of physics, which also, for some reason, grants it extraordinary durability to frontal assaults."
Anyone can fall to any setup sweeper if it accumulates enough boost. Well, Quagsire is an exception to that, smiling at the enemy’s attempts to get through.
Special attacks are taken by everyone else, so Quagsire can keep walling physically.
Scald can make it easier to wall physically, in case Sableye is unable to help, and Toxic makes it easy to wear foes down as they pound on Quagsire in vain.
(On an unrelated note: Back when I could be called human, Quagsire was a favorite of mine, as I envied his ability to remain carefree when I had a mind burdened with thought. Now, I am one with Quagsire.)
Hide Yo Wife (Talonflame) @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Brave Bird
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost
- Taunt
"Optimal weight and aerodynamic shape grant it nearly unrivaled Speed when doing something as simple as diving at an enemy. The acid it spews triggers a chemical reaction with the skin of a foe, resulting in instantaneous combustion that quickly destroys muscle tissue, inhibiting physical attacks."
In a delicious twist of irony, Talonflame is now in servitute of the stall, ravaging fairies and enemy Grass-types without issue, remorse, or pity.
Will-O-Wisp allows it to stop its so-called checks named Landorus-T, Hippowdon, Tyranitar, and Mega Diancie pre-Mega Evolution. It also wears down members in a Stall vs. Stall matchup, which allows me to turn on my brethren more easily.
Shoutout to the creator of “Stall, Myself, and I” for this idea. (Interesting title, by the way.)
Hide yo shrooms (Amoonguss) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 168 Def / 92 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Clear Smog
- Hidden Power Fire
"Perfectly illustrates a human: Spore is mankind's laziness, Giga Drain is mankind's parasitism, Clear Smog is mankind's pollution, and Hidden Power is mankind's destructive potential."
Commonly found on Balanced, Amoonguss makes its return on stall as a secondary Fairy slayer and stop to mons like non-Psychic/Ice Beam Manaphy, non-Max Attack Mega Diancie, Mega Lopunny, and Azumarill.
It’s kinda passive, which I don’t like, but it’s something I’ll have to deal with nonetheless. It walls stuff, which is enough.
Enlighten Me!
Show me how I can improve my prowess, so my children and I can shed ever more blood and spread the infestation of the stall. Teach these foolish foes the harshness of the stall and let fear take hold in their hearts.
For the glory of the Stall!
All will bow to the power of the Stall.
Come, my slaves. The time has come to lend me your strength.
This brood started with Chansey, or the Queen or Vice as is her proper title. With abilities to wall both physically and specially, only a few Fighting-type moves even have a chance of killing her in one hit – even fewer guarantee it. It is also a good switch-in to various enemies such as Mega Diancie or Mega Manectric. Encounter her brood and beware – bully her children, and you’ll answer to Mama. Overall a solid mon. It’s hardly passive even, for 100 damage plus Toxic damage is nothing to ignore easily – I may be mistaken, however, for I am but an inexperienced Stall underling.
A CANCER MON. These foolish Balanced and Hyper Offense enemies value their Mega Diancies, Volcanions, Heatrans, and Tyranitars far too dearly. It would be but a shame if they were to die and their commanders could do nothing about it. Dugtrio is a welcome addition to my brood, for the blood of Diancie, Volcanion, Heatran, and Tyranitar are a welcome treat to my brood.
Despite the utility and evilness Dugtrio brought, I saw it was needed for me to swap him for Amoonguss, so that Keldeo can be stopped.
Mega Sableye is another vile creature that naturally fits into the vileness of the Stall. I saw little reason to leave out such a potent weapon that will make enemies regret challenging the Stall. Standard set is the best here.
Skarmory is a noble creature that was unfortunate enough to be assimilated into the Stall, becoming one of its most valuable assets, for its ability to withstand physical assaults is one that is most useful. And its Shed Shell add-on renders enemy Magnezone nigh useless – the most they can do is Volt Switch, which can get out of hand, but it’s nothing a good Staller can’t handle.
Quagsire is a wretched creature that stops the foolish Charizard Xs and setup sweepers who think they can get away with setting up. None stands against the stall.
Jirachi is another noble creature that was unfortunate enough to be assimilated. It is a useful switch-in to those ever wretched Fairies.
I looked at “Stall, Myself, and I” and decided to borrow his idea of having Talonflame act as a Serperior and Fairy check, scratching Jirachi from this list. Talonflame is yet another noble creature that was unfortunate enough to be assimilated into the Stall.
