ORAS NU The Stickiness! Mawile+Sticky Web Offense!

leavanny_and_oshawott_by_hoyeechun-d4mneht.png

Leavanny @ Focus Sash
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 252 Atk / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Knock Off
- Sticky Web
- Leaf Storm
- Magic Coat
The first and most important mon on this team. He's here the lay down the weeeb and magic coat on mons trying to put up hazards in ur face. The Knock Off is helpful for weakning threats and getting rid of those nasty eviolites. Magic Coat is a funny little move on this guy, I'm often able to get spikes on the enemies team because they don't see it coming.

Samurott @ Life Orb
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Grass Knot
- Ice Beam
Ahh, the spin preventer! This mon is great at stopping spins due to it's powerful special typing and wide range of moves to ohko pretty much any spinner in NU. With the web up this mon also becomes a terrifying sweeper with some decent amount of bulk. Life orb boosted and with Modest nature gets a surprising amount of OKHOs like Lilligant who gets dropped by and Ice Beam.

303Mawile_Pokemon_Mystery_Dungeon_Explorers_of_Sky.png

Mawile @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
The star of the team, the monster, the lord, the god! This thing is a truck full of truck parts. With Life Orb mons get dropped on their neck, it's incredible power gives it virtually no switch-ins. Sheer force boosted Play rough+Life Orb smashes so many things in this tier it's not even funny. If you manage to get a sword dance this mon can do a lot of work.

Flareon_luffs_teh_COOKIES_XD_by_Pokemongrl2008.png

Flareon @ Choice Band
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- Quick Attack
- Sleep Talk
Hi my name is power, may I smash your team? xD Flareon is extremely good at smashing walls and provides a great switch-in to fire attacks. Sleep Talk for handling Sleep Powder sweepers namely, Vivilion and Liligant. As for Quick Attack it can come in handy when you really need to finish off a mon that your opponent is planning to sack that would otherwise continue to smash holes in this team.

429Mismagius_Dream.png

Mismagius @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dazzling Gleam
- Shadow Ball
- Destiny Bond
- Taunt
The spinblocker and with Destiny Bond my last trump card to not getting sweeped by huge threats such as Zangoose and Gurdurr who would otherwise smash my team. Taunt is for preventing mons from setting up predicting you to switch.

Giovanni_Rhydon_Fury_Attack_PO.png

Rhydon @ Eviolite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Blast
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance/Roar
Rhydon is my hazard setter and a good switch-in against flying types. Eviolite makes it extremely bulky and hard to take down and Sword Dance reminds the opponent that this mon is also a threat offensively.

Changes Made-
297-frame2.png
Hariyama @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Bullet Punch
- Fake Out
This mon was originally my switch-in to Typhlosion, it was suggested by hollywood to replace it with Flareon who can take fire attacks somewhat better? Does it? hmm.. :]

sandslash.gif
Sandslash @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Atk / 248 Def
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
This was originally my stealth rock setter and spinner, but this team's presence with preventing hazards kind of made a little unnecessary. Sandslash isn't exactly the best tank either due to it's small amount of resistances so, as suggested by hollywood, I opted for stealth rock Rhydon with sd ehehe..

samurott.png
Samurott @ Expert Belt
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Grass Knot
- Ice Beam
Samurott originally had this build in order to take more hits and not take too much recoil, but the lack of power and the presence that Audino possesses on this team made it more difficult to play around. As suggested by Emarnus the newer build has a lot more fire power to threaten spinners and hazard setters even more.

Well, that's my team, which focuses on getting the web up and preventing the spin with both a spin blocker and a powerful mon to OHKO spinners. Any constructive criticism and general ideas to improve this team would be much appreciated! ^^

Hey Shooty the idea you have for your team is nice but as of now it has a glaring weakness to Mega-Audino. No one on your team can do much to it which gives it plenty of opportunities to sweep. The only pokemon on your team which can take it on is Mawile, which once gone leaves you nothing.

To fix this you may want to try putting life orb on Samurott or making him modest as opposed to timid.
252+ SpA Samurott Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Audino: 195-231 (47.5 - 56.3%) -- 82.8% chance to 2HKO
VS
252 SpA Life Orb Samurott Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Audino: 231-274 (56.3 - 66.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

If you don't want 3 life orbers on your team, Mawile's life orb could be replaced with leftovers and swapping sucker punch or firefang for substitute. This will make you unable to get burnt if you use a sub on a predicted switch.

Good luck on your team

Thanks and woow the power boost that life orb modest Samurott gained is insane being able to ohko feraligatr with a non stab grass knot after rocks and spikes is pretty nice. As for the Mawile set, it seems to make Mawile more reliable as a sweeper it can set up on mons that normally can't touch it like, Mega Audino, rather easily.

Hey there Shooty, cool team. You'll probably want to add some more descriptions to each Pokemon to keep from getting this thread locked.

Leavanny / Mawile / Samurott / Hariyama / Mismagius / Sandslash

As an offensive Sticky Web team, it's important to have a few things covered. First off, Flying-types, Pokemon with Levitate, and Pawniard are inherently more threatening to your team based on its reliance on Sticky Web in order to keep up offensive pressure. Flying-types and Levitate Pokemon are immune to Sticky Web and Pawniard gets a +2 Attack boost from it thanks to Defiant. As a specific example, Swellow pretty much rips your team apart from Team Preview. Specs sets 2HKO everything but Hariyama, which can only safely switch in once, while physical sets 2HKO your entire team, including Mawile and Sandslash. Because of this Flying weakness in particular, I'd recommend trying out Rhydon over Sandslash. You really don't need your own spinner, as the only hazard that is particularly bothersome for your team is the uncommon Toxic Spikes, which only affect half your team anyways (not including Leavanny because it will often die by turn two or three).

With the Rhydon change, your team looks mostly sound. You're still a bit weak to offensive Grass-types such as Virizion and Lilligant though, with Mawile as your only Grass resist. You can try out Choice Band Flareon over Hariyama as a Fire-type switch in that checks Grass-types better. With Flash Fire, Flareon can repeatedly come in on Fire-type attacks and immediately threaten the opposing team with a powerful Flash Fire-boosted Flare Blitz. Stealth Rock becomes slightly more bothersome if you go this route, but as long as you can keep up offensive pressure with this team (which shouldn't be too difficult to do), you should be able to keep hazards away.

There's a bit more fine-tuning you can do as well. On Mawile, you should be running Life Orb, as it has great synergy with Sheer Force and just generally allows Mawile to hit hard unboosted and break stall. You also don't really need Substitute, especially with Flareon to switch into Will-O-Wisp. Instead, I'd recommend trying out Iron Head or Fire Fang. With Mega Steelix likely getting banned soon, Fire Fang might not be as important anymore, so it's really up to preference. I'd also recommend Adamant over Jolly nature because the extra power is much more important for a Pokemon with only base 85 Attack, and you have priority for faster offensive Pokemon. Also, Leavanny is probably better off running Knock Off instead of X-Scissor. Knock Off actually threatens Xatu, which is really common in the metagame. You'll also want to run Attack investment instead of Special Attack investment, as Leaf Storm is going to do tons of damage to the things you want to hit with it (Seismitoad, Rhydon) with or without investment.

Haven't seen Sticky Web used in a long time, so I hope you're having success with the team and I hope my changes help you out!

I played a few games with the team and i honestly gotta say its a huge improvement. Rhydon is able to check flying types something that Sandlsash couldn't do reliably, and the combination of both Liligant and Samurott are able to make it a lot more difficult for the opponent to get up too many hazards with some prediction. As for Flareon, power... it's soo strong compared to Hariyama but doesn't take focus blasts too well. All the changes really helped the team, thanks the for the help :D
