The Sun Never Sets On The Heatran Empire

As you might have been able to guess from the title, this teams goal is setting up a Sunny Day Heatran sweep.
Heatran has great special attack, Fire type STAB, Solarbeam, and a Ground type move that is useful for eliminating enemies that resist the Fire/Grass combo (only Flash Fire Pokemon "resist" Fire moves while the sun is up).
This team focuses mostly on paralysis in order to aid Heatran's ability to sweep. Now without further ado:

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/8 Atk/216 Def/32 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head
- Body Slam

Jirachi is my opener. Serene Grace Body Slam gives me a 60% chance to paralyze any Pokemon that is not a Ghost type. This allows me to spread status easily without being hindered by Ground types.
I chose to forgo Choice Scarf in favor of Leftovers because I like the ability to switch moves. Leftovers also allows Jirachi to survive a little bit longer.
Iron Head was chosen over Zen Headbutt for the ability to hit certain Pokemon for Neutral/Super effective damage, and the higher flinch rate.
U-turn gives me a chance to escape from cocky Magnezone that assume I am a Choice Scarf variety and also allows me to gain momentum by switching to an appropriate counter for whatever they send in.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def/80 Spd/176 SAtk
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Softboiled
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Flamethrower

Some of you might remember this set from Obi's paralysis team. I figured I would give it a test run on my team. It has been working pretty well and I am happy with the results.
Thunder Wave is obvious here. It spreads paralysis and is 100% accurate.
Softboiled is also obvious. I had no room for Protect and most of my Pokemon are capable of healing themselves so Wish was an inferior choice.
Hidden Power Ground works like a charm, and really shines when most of my opponents team is paralyzed. It allows me to pick off weakened and paralyzed Pokemon late in the game.
Flamethrower is for catching Scizor and also allows me to hit Gengar.

Miltank (F) @ Chople Berry
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 240 HP/212 Def/56 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Body Slam
- Counter
- Heal Bell
- Milk Drink

I am probably using an inferior Pokemon here, but I just couldn't pass on the opportunity to use Miltank. I will replace her if necessary, but she has managed to carry her weight thus far.
Body Slam has a 30% chance to paralyze, and with Scrappy is no longer hindered by Ghost types.
Counter is used for lack of any better ideas. This is also why Chople Berry is used as my item instead of leftovers. Counter gives me a free shot at ruining any cocky fighting type Pokemon that thinks they can score a free KO.
Milk Drink allows me to heal off any damage from using Counter and continue to fight.
Heal Bell allows me to rid my team of status. I tend to use it a lot with Gyarados in order to alleviate the negative effects of Rest.

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

Bulky Gyarados is my answer to physical Fighting attacks. Thanks to Intimidate, Gyarados can be a formidable defensive wall even without a reliable recovery.
Waterfall is here for STAB. It also has a nice 30% flinch chance that I can abuse once my opponents team is paralyzed.
Stone Edge allows me to take on other Gyarados, and Salamence.
Rest allows me to heal myself. With Heal Bell on my side, Rest becomes a much safer move.

Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/40 Def/216 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Roost
- U-turn

My favorite Gliscor set. I fell in love with it at first sight.
The Ev spread is very significant. 216 speed ev's with a Jolly nature saves me from any Swords Dance Lucario who runs through my team if Gyarados is down.
Earthquake is a useful STAB move and allows me to take down Pokemon like Lucario.
U-turn allows me to make better switches and is just a useful move in general. However I have been considering Stone Edge as added insurance against Gyarados.
Taunt is always a good move. It prevents set-up, and status and allows me to gain momentum. Roost is for recovery.

Heatran (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 94 HP/164 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Solarbeam
- Sunny Day

This thing can become an absolute monster. When the Sun begins to shine there are very few things that can survive two shots from this Pokemon.
Earth Power is here for eliminating other Heatran. Under the sun, nothing really resists fire except for Flash Fire Pokemon. In OU that means Heatran. If I can paralyze the enemies Heatran I can prevent it from walling me with a simple Earth Power to the face.
Fire Blast is a little iffy. It is amazingly powerful under the sun, pretty much 2hkoing anything in the game with the exception of Blissey. However it has awful PP. If my opponent somehow manages to make me lose all 8 PP my main sweeper loses his best move. I am considering Flamethrower because under the sun it should still manage to 2hko most threats.
Solarbeam allows me to ruin any Water or Rock type Pokemon that try to get in my way. With Sunny Day lowering the power of their Water attacks Heatran can successfully counter things like Starmie and Vaporeon. It also allows me to OHKO certain Tyranitar provided I Sunny Day as they switch in.
---

Synergy (for those that can't see it): Jirachi and Heatran are weak to Ground. Gliscor and Gyarados are immune to Ground. Gliscor is weak to Ice, while Gyarados resists Ice. Gyarados is weak to Electric attacks, while Gliscor is immune to Electric attacks. Blissey and Miltank are weak to fighting. Gyarados and Gliscor resist fighting.

Also I realize that Sunny Day will weaken Waterfall. However I only use Sunny Day when I am near guaranteed a sweep so it should ever be an issue.

I really like that Heatran set, I saw it in the "New and Creative Movesets" thread and I actually thought about making a team for it.

I would watch out for MixApe because it tears a pretty big hole in your team. And to an extent MixNite.

Also, where might I be able to see Obi's paralysis team?

I saw it there too. In fact that is how I got the idea for this team. :)

Anyway I am pretty sure that MixApe has lost a ton of usage ever since Latias entered the fray. If it comes down to it I could just pray that Chople Berry saves me and lets me get a Counter off.
I could also try and play around it, switching back and forth between Gyarados and one of my other Pokemon so that his physical attacks are finally too weak to 1hko my paralyzers.
It would be the same with Mixnite although he is even easier to work around because he tends to use Superpower as his physical fighting move.

The Rate My Team Archive has a link. But I will post it here for your convenience.

Having both Blissey and Miltank on the same team does open it up quite significantly to strong Fighting-types. While you do have good coverage on them with Gyarados and Gliscor, you cannot always guarantee that both will be at high health throughout the battle. Gyarados in particular will be worn down by Stealth Rock, and if something like Machamp manages to hax its way past your safety net (not too hard a feat, it really just needs one turn of confusion), you will be in a bit of trouble. I don't really see Blissey doing much for this team apart from providing paralysis support, and I think it slows down the overall pace of your team as well. I suggest dropping Blissey for Latias instead:

Latias @ Leftovers
Calm (+SpD, -Atk)
252 HP / 116 Def / 112 SpD / 28 Spe
Dragon Pulse / Recover / Reflect / Thunder Wave

Latias fulfills the special walling role well, but provides much better resistances for your team than Blissey did. It provides a Fighting, Ground and Water resist for Heatran, an Electric resist for Gyarados, a Water resist for Gliscor, a Fighting resist for Miltank, and a Fire and Ground resist for Jirachi. Latias also helps you with your MixApe weakness as well. Thunder Wave and Reflect provide good support for your team overall, Thunder Wave in particular for helping set Heatran up. Reflect allows Latias to switch out of the likes of Tyranitar and Scizor without too much fear. The EVs are a bit weird, but they do work. 28 Spe lets you outspeed max speed adamant Gyarados so you can reflect up against it if you need to, and the rest give it a good balance of defenses.

I don't want to replace Miltank because you obviously like the Pokemon and want to use it, but I'd like you to consider trying out Porygon2 in its place. While statistically Miltank has a higher Defense stat, p2's selling point is its ability to come into Gyarados (who your team has a bit of a weakness to) and DD Salamence and bounce back their Intimidates with Trace. It also has a higher SpD than Miltank and so can take on the likes of scarf Heatran and Specs Jolteon if it needs to, since they won't be hitting it with their STAB attacks. It can also provide more reliable paralysis support with Thunder Wave, but it can't use Heal Bell like Miltank can unfortunately. If you do try it out, try the following set:

Porygon2 @ Leftovers
Bold (+Def, -Atk)
252 HP / 220 Def / 36 SpD
Thunderbolt / Ice Beam / Recover / Thunder Wave

I think your team might be better off if you lead with Gliscor. Gyarados really appreciates it if SR isn't on the field, and against slower leads like Hippowdon and Metagross, Gliscor can use Taunt to stop them from setting it up. Also try out Stealth Rock over U-turn on Gliscor, since getting rocks up early is always beneficial, but more importantly because it then lets you run Wish over Stealth Rock on Jirachi. The combination of a fast early Taunt + Wish support really more than outweighs the loss of Heal Bell by running p2 (if you do so) in supporting Gyarados. Heatran gets worn down by Life Orb quickly as well, and so Wish + a slow U-turn can be used to heal it up too. I'd also run a bit more SpD on your Jirachi, as it is your only switchin to Draco Meteors now that Blissey is gone (and Latias is weak to them), and you have Latias providing Reflect support for you anyway. A spread of 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD with a Careful nature might be a good idea.

Good luck with your team.
