Herro, Smogon. This is MetaSkipper, and this is my first RMT. I've done a lot with this team, so I won't bore you with the team history. I've had some success, and some failure with this team. I'd like to see if this team can be improved, and thus, my team.

Snapback (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SDef / 8 Spd
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Roar

Rocker and Phazer. I've never not gotten Stealth Rock up, and I can usually Roar one or two Pokemon around on a switch before having to switch myself. It also functions as one of my special walls, and takes any fire attacks aimed at Scizor. Lava Plume gets STAB and a nice burn chance. Rocks is rocks. Protect helps me survive otherwise 2HKOs and chip away with burn. Roar spreads the rocks damage around, and sometimes let me trap important pokes with Wobbuffet.

134.png

Hadouken (Vaporeon) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spd
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald
- Roar

The other special tank, and my preferred answer to Politoad, Vap also wish passes. In a pinch, I'll try to burn and stall out the last few pokes on the other guy's team. Wish and protect keep Vappy alive, as well as allow for wish passed. Scald gets STAB and burn chance, and Roar keeps that rocks goin' round. In short, its Heatran for things Heatran doesn't like.

Shoryuken (Salamence) @ Dragon Fang
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 64 Atk / 192 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake

Heatran, as it turns out, doesn't like Earthquakes. Salamence, as it turns out, doesn't really care about Earthquakes. It happily comes in on an EQ, and whacks things around a bit. Outrage and Draco Meteor get STAB, boosted by Dragon Fang. Fire Blast whacks the ever scary Genesect, Scizor, and Forretress. Earthquake scares away Heatrans. I've come to really dislike Life Orb recoil, and Outrage and DM don't really hit things super effectively, so I've been turned off from Expert Belts.

642.png

X Factor (Haxorus) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Swords Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake

The other dragon on this team has a very simple modus operandi: Boost and kill. Often coming in after one of my pokes goes down, it boosts, either taking a hit or on the switch, then kills stuff. I'll DD if something on the other team would otherwise outspeed, otherwise I'll SD. After that, Outrage kills a lot of things. Earthquake's there if I don't want to get locked in quite yet. Lum Berry lets me take one status move, or do two Outrages in a row.

212.png

DHC (Scizor) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SDef
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Priority and scarves. Two things my sweepers so far REALLY doesn't like. Scizor happily gets rid of these things with little problem. U-turn helps scout switches and still hurts. Bullet punch beats those scarfers. Superpower hurts, and pursuit helps catch fleeing psychics. I've considered switching to Life Orb, but since Scizor needs to stay around, the recoil is less then appealing.

202.png

Counter Hit (Wobbuffet) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Def / 228 SDef
Bold Nature
- Counter
- Mirror Coat
- Encore
- Destiny Bond

Every now and again, I end up Roaring in something that looks important. A sweeper, a wall breaker, something that I don't want around. Then I absolutely need that one thing gone, Wobbuffet is the Poke of choice. I've learned to almost always Encore, after countering one too many set up moves. If I encore a set up move, I either switch to Vappy or Heatran and Roar it away, or switching in Haxorus and set up myself before swinging away. If I Encore an attack or I suspect a Choice, I Counter or Mirror Coat as appropriate. The last move, I rarely touch. I've run Safeguard, Destiny Bond, even Splash, the choice has made little difference so far.

And such is my team. I've had problems with Rain, and especially Thunder, since no one on my team likes taking it.

Comment, Criticize, Conflagrate!

Hello, and welcome to Smogon!

First off I suggest using a different item on Salamence, despite Dragon Claws attraction of boosting it's strong dragon moves, I think Expert Belt Lure Mence would work even better, especially as a partner for Haxorus. You can fake a Choice Scarf and then eliminate those pesky steels that wall you and your partner Haxorus. I sugget using Dragon Claw over Draco Meteor and simplifying the spread with 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def. Salamence is a fantastic partner to Haxorus through this spread. Simply lure out steels types with Dragon Claw, then eliminate them with Fire Blast!

I see that you do have a slight issue with stuff like Mamoswine and Landorus, so instead of Vaporeon, I propose trying Rotom-W over Vaporeon. It builds momentum with Scizor and the dragons, allowing it to lure out more Pokemon to be trapped by Wobbufett. Rotom-W also provides a solid check to Bulky DD Gyarados who can be a bit annoying.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers | Levitate
252 SAtk / 144 Spe / 112 HP
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp

Hey, I got your request.

Your team has a few weaknesses in the form of hazards, EdgeQuake, and fighting types. You don't have a spinner, and everyone on your team is heavily crippled by at least one type of status. EdgeQuake users are also really problematic, as PDC said. Landorus hits Heatran, Vaporeon, Haxorus, and Scizor hard with EQ, Salamence with Stone Egde, and Wobbuffet with U-Turn. Fighting types could also be very problematic- provided they have the right coverage moves. Terrakion and SD Lucario are a few pokemon that really screw with you after they set up. To help you with this, I suggest you switch Vaporeon for Bulky Starmie.

Starmie @ Leftovers
252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid nature
~Rapid Spin
~Ice Beam
~Scald
~Recover

Starmie does a number of things for your team. It takes incoming status for Haxorus and Salamence. It spins away hazards that Salamence and Scizor hate. It can take quite a few fighting type hits with it's reasonable bulk, and burn them with Scald. It can even OHKO non-scarfed Landorus with Ice Beam. It will definitely help you a lot.

Cool team, hope I helped!

Choice Band Terrakion and Tyranitar can put a dent in this team with Stone Edge coming in on a Pursuit-locked Scizor or any of Heatran's moves bar Lava Plume (unless they risk the burn) and Roar. Nothing resists their Stone Edge assaults on your team, and everything risks getting 2HKO-OHKOed. Even Wobbufet can't directly switch-in, risking a 2HKO, and can only revenge kill (and needs to be relatively healthy), meaning something will go down on your team in order for Wobbuffet to safely switch-in. Nasty Plot Thundurus is another threat setting up on Scizor after Superpower's use, and KOing everything on the team with boosted Thunderbolt / Focus Blast / HP Ice (even Wobb takes 93.4% - 110.2%). Last Pokemon Volcarona can set-up a Quiver Dance on Scizor's Bullet Punch, and proceed to sweep with its dual STAB. Heatran can't Roar it out if it's the last Pokemon on the foe's team, and will eventually go down to boosted Hidden Power Rock. Rotom-W in the rain can also cause some serious problems, coming in on Vaporeon or Heatran, and launching off Hydro Pump and Volt Switches. Vaporeon can take a Hydro Pump, but then Rotom-W can just Volt Switch out, Salamence and Haxorus won't appreciate repeated Hydro Pumps or Volt Switches in the rain, especially with no recovery, while Wobbuffet is unable to trap due to Volt Switch. Lastly, Calm Mind Keldeo can also set-up on Scizor's appropriate resisted move, and proceed to be a pain (especially with HP Ice). Your best bet is Roar with Vaporeon, again if it's the last Pokemon, not much you can do against it.

Firstly, try out Toxic over Roar on Heatran, as with this you have a more sufficient way of handling Volcarona, as Toxic is not limited to the fact that whether Volcarona is the last Pokemon on the opponent's team or not, as this will cripple it no matter what. You also might want to test Air Balloon for HP Ground variants, and as a temporary way to save Heatran against Dugtrio on Sun teams.

Secondly, I'd try Gastrodon over Vaporeon for a couple of reasons; currently, Gastrodon seems like the superior choice for its added benefit (as they both function similarly) of taking out Banded Rock- type attacks from behemoths like Terrakion and Tyranitar, and retaliate with Earthquake. It also helps against Rotom-W with Toxic + Recover while it can't do much back, and other rain based Water- type sweepers like Life Orb Starmie and Agility Thundurus. You still maintain your check to Politoed, and gain reliable recovery with Recover, and have a more reliable way to handle CM Jirachi with Water Pulse under the rain thanks to Earthquake. The only thing you lose is the ability to pass Wish, but the pros of this change outweighs the minor con, as you are handling a ton more threats with an added resistance to a troublesome type, along with a more efficient form of recovery. A spread leaning towards a more Physically Defense spread will emulate similar defenses prowess to Vaporeon and taking CB Stone Edges from Terrakion and Tyranitar better.

Lastly, I'd try a Choice Scarf Latios over Wobbuffet to give you a reliable check against Nasty Plot Thundurus and Calm Mind Keldeo. Although a rare sight in the metagame, IMO, Latios would fit in well with your team. With Salamence and Haxorus luring out Steel- types like Scizor and Ferrothorn, and softening them (or outright KOed from Salamence's Fire Blast) with their attacks, Latios will be able to utilize its moves with greater ease. Wobbuffet and Latios have the same role in your team, to revenge kill. The latter comes with the added benefit of taking out Nasty Plot Thundurus with Draco Meteor, and Keldeo with Psyshock. Furthermore, it takes full advantage of the steel- types Salamence removes, by abusing Draco Meteor or Dragon Pulse, being able to sweep late game when said steels are gone. The surprise factor is an added bonus, when you outpace and KO threats like Shell Smash Cloyster, Tornadus, and Starmie. Jellicent and opposing Gastrodon are also a little tough for your team to face due to the threat of Taunt / Scald / Will-O-Wisp from the former and Toxic / Scald / Ice Beam from the latter, Trick cripples them both after Latios has revenge killed the troublesome Pokemon on the foe's team (or there aren't any for it to do so), and cripple their walling capabilities. Lastly, I'd try Roost over Outrage and Intimidate as the ability on Salamence, as solely relying on Vaporeon's wish for longetivity isn't the best idea, Roost also helps sticking around Stall longer, who Salamence is a primary choice against. Lastly, with Intimidate you are able to check Swords Dance Lucario who can be troublesome otherwise, as a +1 Extremespeed won't KO, and you can retaliate with Earthquake. You still lure out Steel- types and put a dent with Draco Meteor (and then finish off with the appropriate move). Since you have Roost now, you can go with Life Orb as the item, as the Life Orb recoil is mitigated.
