The sun that blots out the rain

Hi my first RMT here so bear with me :). 1st off this team has gotten me into the current pokemon showdown ladder but since the ladder is usually down its a little hard to tell how good the team really is. the team might seem a little strange with ninetails and not much sun abuse but its more of a anti rain strategy so lets look at the pokes.

Ability: Drought
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Calm
EVs: 252 hp 96 speed 160 SPdefence

-Flamethrower
-Wil-o-wisp
-Sunny day
-Protect

Ninetails is a little underrated weather inducer SPdefence versions only take 20% from defence toeds scalds in sun 35% from scarf toeds hydro pumps and 50% from specs hydro pumps so its a good wall to most politoeds in my opinion and it can easly burn ttar and make it pretty useless for the most of the game(baring banded witch is verry rare) flamethrower is just obligatory stab i HATE non accurate moves so i prefer it over fire blast. Wil-o-wisp is to put residual damage on politoed to win the weather war and to burn ttar. Sunny day may seem a little bit strange but its a really good way to win weather wars an eample that happends alot of times: they send out toed i send out ninetails either im faster in most cases and its rain up then i just use sunny day, or im slower witch means theyr scarfed and its sun from 1st turn and i easly live a hydro pump and burn them. Protect is for better recovery and to scout lead scarfers and stall with burns. The speed evs are to outspeed adamant d-nite witch is a common lead against ninetails and the rest is just for more bulk. overall ninetails wins the weather war for me more than ttar and toed has when ive playd sand and rain.

Ability: Pressure
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Modest
EVs: 56 Hp 240 SPattack 212 speed

-dragon pulse
-ice beam
-earth power
-substitute

Kyurem the oh so long mocked dragon D: but with BW2 it got a new amazing move that helps him out soo much namely earth power with it he can beat his standard counters like heatran and jirachi. dragon pulse is for good stab hits everything hard baring steels and blissey/chansey. Ice beam is for 2nd stab hits hard and lets him bypass pokes like skarm and ferrothorn alot easyer. earth power as i mentioned is to hit heatran jirachi the most common switch in. and substitute is awsome move specially with pressure and 101 subs he can actually stall out blissey and chansey if hes at full hp and ofc to block anoying status. the evs is to make 101 subs as i mentioned the speed is to outspeed max speed timid heatran witch im seeing alot of latley and rest into SP attack for max power. overall kyurem is awsome he is usually the MVP of the match sometimes sweeping most of the opponent teams.

Ability: Justified
Item: Choice scarf
Nature: jolly
EVs: 252 attack 252 speed 4 SPdeff

-close combat
-rock slide
-stone edge
-x-scizzor

Terrakion is such an aswome poke with alot of different sets, but he ended up being my revenge killer. Revenge killing volcarona, mence, gyarados, d-nite etc. etc. Close combat is obligatory stab hitting hard. rock slide as i metioned i hate non accurate moves and when it comes to volcarona i take no chances(well its not really 100%accurate witch sucks :c) great for killing off dnite mence gyarados volcarona. stone edge i rarley use it but sometimes i have to like a low hp gliscor and other clutch moments. x-scizzor is for celebi and latios/as. the evs are straight forward power and speed. overall terrakion is probably the best revenge killer in my opinion and saves my ass alot of times.

Ability: flash fire
Nature: Calm
Item: leftovers
EVs: 248 hp 252SPdefence 8speed

-lava plume
-stealth rock
-protect
-roar

Heatran is a beast of a wall speccialy in sun, even tho it might seem a little redundant with ninetails and heatran bot spdeff walls i need him to take dracos hurricanes and wall opponent sun teams and without him sub CM latias is really hard to beat. Lava plume good stab hits pretty hard in sun and heatrans naturaly good SPattack and burns are always welcome. stealth rock not mutch to say best move in the game need it. protect is for recovery and scouting and burn stall. Roar is alot for latias as i mentioned it cause alot of problems and just to rack up some hazard damage on perdicted politoed switch in and stuff like that. EVs is simple max bulk. overall heatran is one of my favourite walls and crucial role in my team i have some trouble picking moves on him tho as he has too many good moves, he also makes a good wall to politoed (in sun of course) to keep my ninetails higher on hp and hes immune to toxic.

Ability: Multiscale
Nature: Adamant
Item: Choice band
EVs: 252atatck 252speed 4SPdeff

-outrage
-earthquake
-fire punch
-extremespeed

Dragonite is easly one of the best pokes in OU i need some power on my team and Dnite is as much power as u can get he acts like a check to reuniclus and conkelldur witch otherwise gives me tons of trouble. Outrage is obligatory stab hits like a truck 2hitKOs some steels.... EQ is mosty for heatran. Fire punch is for steels not named heatran and in sun its really strong and lets me bypass skarm alot easyer. Espeed is to help revenge kill stuff and sometimes sweep late game. EVs straight forward power and speed. overall d nite is a top dog(dragon) hits super hard and sa i said helps alot with reuniclus and conkeldurr.

Ability: Sturdy
Nature: relaxed
Item: leftovers
EVs: 252HP 252defence 4SPdeff (0 speed ivs)

-volt switch
-gyro ball
-rapid spin
-spikes

Forretress is my spinner as i have 3 pokes weak to SR he helps with stall by setting up hazzards gives alot of momentum(il get to it later) and checks/walls some physical attackers as terrakion dnite without fire punch etc. volt switch is a awsome moves for foretress and it gives ALOT of momentum as he is slow as a bagworm i can often volt switch after opponent attacks giving me free switches. gyro ball is to deal with terrakion DD dnite and mence who tryes to set up on me and mammoswine. rapid spin well duh i need it. spikes as i said helps alot with stall but often its not that helpfull but it can help terrakion get a sweep in. overall forretress is a great spinner defnitly a helpfull member

Hope you liked the team suggestions are welcome. i have some troubles with conkelldur reuniclus mammoswine banded terrakion and SR is a big problem when i can get a spin off. sorry i couldnt get any pictures but heres a problem with the copy paste thing il try to fix it. Sorry if i forgot something and my spelling isnt at the top :P

If this is supposed to be an anti-rain team, why are there no grass types? Try using Virizion, chlorophyll Venusaur or Tangrowth; something to take on most water types. Standard latios would put a huge dent in this team. Honestly, your whole team needs to be reworked because it seems like you want to play stall but have a mix of walls and offense, (I know mixed teams can be run; I run them myself, but there's just something off about it here) which doesn't give you enough coverage on the offensive side or enough synergy on the defensive side. While one could argue that the defensive synergy of this team looks good on paper, the reality of it is that you need to patch up certain weaknesses to certain threats and either expand your coverage or increase your walling capabilities. At this point it's a mix of some top-tier threats and kyurem, but it's not a complete team. Sorry if I'm being harsh. This is just my personal opinion and nothing to be taken personally.

well with sun water attacks dosnt really hurt me at all and kyurem can easly take some rain boosted attacks, and ive never really had any trouble cause of lack of coverage

I feel as if you misunderstood me when it comes to water types. I meant that with a grass type you can sweep rain teams more easily. It's not about absorbing their moves but about being able to hit back and hit back hard.

oh, well thats no problem at all kyurem sets up subs easly on alot of rain types d-nite can easly take some water attacks and do alot with outrage or Espeed

oh and latios is really easy to deal with heatran walls it verry easly in sun in the rain surf does alot but it isnt a ko even with specs so i can take it if he perdicts my heatran then switch out to ninetails kyurem or dnite

Hey there. That's a pretty cool sun team you got going on. I would like to make suggestions that you can try and help make this team better. To start things off, you don't have a Pokemon with Chlorophyll to abuse sun. Most Chlorophyll sweepers have the ability to have the move Growth, which raises your attack and special attack 2 stages when in sun. For your Chlorophyll sweeper, I suggest that you use a Venusaur. Being graced with the combination of Giga Drain and Chlorophyll, Venusaur would be an amazing mid-game sweeper. In addition to a solid Chlorophyll sweeper, a good fire type is also needed. The premier choice for your fire-typed sweeper would be Volcarona. When you have spin support, and when Volcarona gets a few Quiver Dances up, it's basically game over. I would also that you change Dragonite to a Standard Dragon Dance set. With this set, Dragonite can use it's vast movepool to take care of most OU threats. Lastly, you should use a Sun Sweeping Set on Heatran to help benefit from the sun. That's all the help I can offer, and if you want to update this team, please edit your first post. Have fun and good luck with your team!

Have you considered running Starmie? On rare occasions, I use it myself when running Sun & predict hazards or need to check Rain teams. Although Starmie is a Water type, under Sun it can really suprise opposing teams w/ this set:

Starmie@Leftovers/LifeOrb
Natural Cure
Timid: 252 SpA/ 252 Spd/ 4 Hp
Psychic/Psyshock, Ice Beam/Thunderbolt, Recover & RapidSpin.

hi thx for advice

ive considered trying volcarona but not sure what i should replace it with tho

and ye ive tryed starmie once on a sun team as my rapid spiner but it always dissapoints me with leftovers and with life orb the damage racks up really fast but maybee i could try it agen

If you do use Starmie, I suggest it over Forrtress since you have Heatran w/ rocks. In running Volcarona, it'd be helpful to have Starmie to get rid of opposing rocks. Also, you should consider Volcarona even more now that it's been graced w/ Giga Drain. Here's the set I use on mine:

Volcarona@LumBerry/Leftovers
Timid: 252 SpA/ 252 Spd/ 4 Def
FieryDance, Bugbuzz, GigaDrain & QuiverDance

It's a good check to opposing Keldeo & Scarfed Terrakion w/ a +2 QD.
