The Super Steels: Gen IV OU Monotype Steel Team

Hi everybody,
This is my second RMT, and the team I am posting today is a monotype Steel team, which I've named the Super Steels (I know, real original). Steel is a key defensive type in the OU metagame, but I take an offensive approach with another balanced team thats leaning more towards offensive. I was going to write out a team building process, but i didnt really start out with one pokemon. Also, don't shit on me because I used Gen V sprites.

So without further adieu, Here's the Super Steels:

Superachi the lead

@Life Orb
Naive (+Spd, -SpDef)
Serene Grace
172 Atk, 252 Spd, 84 SpAtk

Stealth Rock
Iron Head
Thunderbolt
Grass Knot

This lead absolutely wrecks in the current metagame. When people see Jirachi as a lead, they almost always assume its the TrickScarf variant. However, I use a mixed life orb lead. I just love when opposing leads Protect as I place my rocks. After that, I choose the appropriate move. Iron Head is primary STAB, and its really fun to just flinch people to death. Thunderbolt and Grass Knot are coverage moves, and they work well as Hippowdon and Swampert are common leads that are 2HKO'd and OHKO'd, respectively, by Grass Knot, and many people bring in SKarmory once I start flinching, so thunderbolt demolishes him.

Supercario the Sweeper

448.gif
@Life Orb
Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk) or Jolly (+Spd, -SpAtk) I can't decide
Inner Focus
252 Atk, 4 Def, 252 Spd

Swords Dance
Close Combat
Extremespeed
Crunch

Anyone who's vaguely familiar with the Gen IV OU metagame, you know that SD Lucario is a monster that you don't want to mess with. After a Swords Dance, Lucario rips anything in its path to shreds. Just switch into something that can't hurt you, like most Blissey and Forretress. Close Combat is main fighting STAB, and it demolishes everything that doesn't resist it. Extremespeed is a priority move on steroids, as it picks off anything faster than Lucario with ease. Crunch is for those pesky ghosts that resist Lucario's other moves.

Superzone the Trapper

462.gif
@Choice Scarf
Modest (+SpAtk, -Atk)
Magnet Pull
172 HP, 84 Spd, 252 SpAtk

Thunderbolt
Flash Cannon
Hidden Power Fire/Hidden Power Fighting
Explosion

Magnezone is a very underrated pokemon in OU, but with its ability to easily dispose of other steel types, it fit right onto this team. With its ability unique to its evolutionary family, Magnezone makes sure enemy Steel types don't try to block my sweeps. Magnezone has 70/115/90 defenses, meaning it can easily take hits, and a monster 130 Special Attack. With Choice Specs equipped, it gains moderate speed. The moveset is pretty self explanatory. Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon are main STAB, and they deal insane damage. Each Hidden Power works differently. Fire hits most the steel types of OU for harder, but Fighting has much better coverage with the moveset. Explosion is to deal good damage when your almost fainted.

Supermory the Wall

227.gif
@Leftovers
Impish (+Def, -SpAtk)
Keen Eye
252 HP, 4 Def, 252 SpDef

Spikes
Brave Bird
Roost
Whirlwind

My MVP right here, Skarmory is my go-to guy if any sweeper is giving me problems. The moveset is standard with slightly modified EV's. My Skarmory can take both physical and special hits, and his typing is great defensively. Once my hazards are up, Skarmory can spam Whirlwinds and rack up damage. Brave Bird is there so I'm not fucked up by Taunt, and Roost is to heal off damage. Skarmory is very hard to kill with out a Special Fire Type, and is key to my team as my only Ground immune. To show its strength, a Metagross failed to 3HKO it with Thunderpunch, which is super effective.

Supertran the Revenger

485.gif
@Choice Scarf
Mild (+Spd, -SpDef)
Flash Fire
4 HP, 252 Spd, 252 SpAtk

Fire Blast
Dragon Pulse
Earth Power
Explosion

Heatran is a god in the Gen IV metagame, and this is his most notorious set. With a superb 130 Base Special Attack and good 91/106/106 defenses, Heatran seems like the perfect pokemon. The only thing holding him back is his Base 77 Speed. The Choice Scarf completely remedies that, and makes him a fast and deadly revenge killer. He can even sweep at times. Heatran has always been reliable to me, and he is the glue of this team. He holds it together by taking out threats the rest of the team can handle. The moveset is again standard. I chose Dragon Pulse as the coverage move because it has the best overall coverage with Fire Blast, as only opposing Heatran resist those two moves, but those Heatran are also 4x weak to Earth Power, so the coverage is perfect. Explosion is Heatran's only way to handle Blissey, but use with caution. Heatran is unique in that he is the only Steel-Type immune to fire, so he's very important defensively to my team despite being an offensive variant.

Superzor the Tank

212.gif
@Choice Band
Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk)
Technician
248 HP, 252 Atk, 8 Spd

Bullet Punch
Brick Break
U-Turn
Pursuit

Scizor has the #1 usage in this metagame for a reason, and that is that he has the ability to tank and scout. With the given set, Scizor hits 591 Attack, which is absolutely insane. The moveset is standard, except I replaced Superpower with Brick Break because I hated the attack drop. He can also revenge kill, and even sweep. He and Skarmory can work together to rack up residual damage with hazards, Whirlwind, and U-Turn. Finally, Pursuit is to trap and kill those pesky ghost types. Having something that doesnt take super effective damage from Ground or Fighting is nice, too.

Overall, this team has been more successful than I ever dreamed. It has won basically every Monotype battle I've done, and even won a lot of Standard OU battles. Monotype Steel is extremely fun, and with all of the options, there are plenty of styles you can play. Anyways, Thank you very much for your time, and rate, rate, rate away!!!
