The Suspects are Caught in a Sandstorm

Well, this is the Suspect Team that I use the most and that has racked up the most wins. I have used mainly this team to climb the ladder, but it's hit it's slump, and I've been losing. I really need some help with this team, and I'd appreciate the help to make this team reach it's full potential. I'm spared on time, so no threat lists, but I'll list some main weaknesses at the bottom.

Team in Depth

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Impish Natured (+Def, -SpA)
252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD

~ Stealth Rock
~ Earthquake
~ Slack Off
~ Ice Fang

My lead, and in my opinion, one of the best leads out there. It isn't scared of any of the common leads out there, it deals great damage to them all. It can also come in late game and soak some Physical Attacks, and Slack it Off. But pretty much, it's main job is to set up the Rocks. Ice Fang is for Mence and Flygon which can cause problems to this team. EV's are self explanatory, maximum HP and 88 Special Defense EVs will let Hippowdon only be 3HKOed by Sub / Punch Tyranitar's Ice Beam, making it a great counter to any T-Tar set. Rest are dumped into Defense...

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Careful Natured (+SpD, -SpA)
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD

~ Rest
~ Sleep Talk
~ Brick Break
~ Crunch

This is my answer to the ever annoying Latios. Latios deals dismal damage even after a Calm Mind or Two with Surf and Dragon Pulse, and with SR down OHKO's with Crunch. Brick Break and Crunch hit everything for neutral damage, and are my only means of attacking. Anyways, self-explanatory, it's my Special Wall, countering threats like Starmie and Azelf. Rests off damage, and damages itself.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Bold Natured (+Def, -Atk)
252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe

~ Leech Seed
~ Grass Knot
~ Recover
~ Hidden Power (Ice)

My Physical Wall. Very annoying when need be, Leech Seeding the likes of Gyara and Mence, to help support the team. The rest is pretty self-explanatory, HP Ice for Glisc and Mence. EV's are there so Celebi can keep it's overall physical defenses while still outrunning Jolly Tyranitar.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
Sassy Natured (+SpD, -Spe)
168 HP / 120 Def / 220 SpD

~ Curse
~ Body Slam
~ Rest
~ Fire Punch

My Mix Wall. This is a great Pokemon, coming in on Fire or Ice attacks, then proceeding to set up, then creaming the opponent. Body Slam for obvious STAB and for the Paralysis so I can sweep with other members of the team, and Fire Punch so I can handle SkarmBliss after a couple of Curses. Rest is there so I can take off Status and because it is Lax's only healing move. The EV's on this Snorlax are configured for optimal defensive efficiency. This spread focuses mainly on improving Snorlax's Special Defensive capabilities, but also keeps an unwavering solidity on the Physical side of the Walling Spectrum.

Spr_4p_485.png

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
Rash Natured (+SpA, -SpD)
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

~ Fire Blast
~ Earth Power
~ Explosion
~ Hidden Power (Grass)

My Revenge Fainter. In my opinion, again, one of the best Special Attackers in the game. Once I get my Flash Fire Boost from Celebi, this thing is a beast, even to those who resist it. It can lure Blissey in to it, and Explode in its face. HP Grass is for Swampert that think they can come in on Tran. Earth Power is for Fires that I otherwise wouldn't do anything to.

Spr_4p_130_f.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Adamant Natured (+Atk, -SpA)
156 HP / 108 Atk / 100 Def / 144 Spe

~ Dragon Dance
~ Waterfall
~ Taunt
~ Earthquake

My Physical Sweeper and late game cleanup. DD up, and let 'er rip. Waterfall for obvious STAB and for flinch, Ice Fang for Celebi, who would otherwise cream me, and EQ for Metagross and others that my team wouldn't be able to handle (Gyara is handled by Celebi and Snorlax in tandem). I'm still wondering whether I should run EQ or Stone Edge though...

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
Timid Natured (+Spe, -Atk)
6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

~ Substitute
~ Magnet Rise
~ Thunderbolt
~ Hidden Power (Fire)

My Scizor destroyer. My team is very Scizor weak, so, I use this to come on in, trap it, and OHKO it with HP Fire. Pretty self-explanatory, pretty much traps any Steel Type and finishes them off. Not much else to say here.

Anyways, that's my team, but I have a huge weakness that really pisses me off. SkarmBliss just completely walls my team, because Skarm usually packs Shed Shell to get by Magnezone. I also have an itty-bitty Breloom weakness, but I think I can stop that with Celebi. Also, Rotom-A seems to be a problem lately. Well, there you go, have fun rating:D!!

Changes in Bold.

I wouldn't expect you to have too much trouble with Rotom-A, as that Tyranitar set (while relying a little on luck) should be a good answer to the majority of them. You have the means of avoiding Hydro Pump and Leaf Storm through Celebi, Magnezone and Heatran. Rotom-H, the most common varient, isn't a worry for Tyranitar really, you'll just have to Rest on Will-O-Wisps if you ever get Burned before you're able to get Heatran in.

Without Pursuit on Tyranitar, I'd imagine that a more offensive Starmie could be a real thorn in your side. Have you played against one yet? It shouldn't have the most difficult time switching in, and can pack a move-set to deal with the majority of your team rather easily: Thunderbolt, Surf, Ice Beam. The same could be said for something like an offensive Suicune with a similar move-set, but with Calm Mind to make it even more dangerous.

Your best answer at the moment would either be Magnezone to try and attempt a KO with Thunderbolt; but currently your Magnezone takes 60.99% - 72.34% damage from a Timid Suicune with max SpA and Life Orb, so a definite 2HKO, or get Heatran in later to attempt a revenge kill with Explosion. Celebi is of course a decent reply too, but since you're not running Special Defence EVs you could be asking a bit too much. Celebi is taking 51.98% - 61.39% from that same Suicune's Life Orb Ice Beam, a sure 2HKO with Stealth Rock or even Sandstorm damage (which you're creating yourself). So if Suicune ever got a Calm Mind, I could see it being really devastating to yoru team, there's also the chance it could use Substitute and block your attempted revenge kills anyway. It also out-speeds your whole team bar Heatran...

However, it's difficult to rectify this problem without changing your strategy a lot. I presonally don't see Magnezone being that big of a necessity to your team. Heatran and Gyarados are _decent_ replies to Scizor usually, so I'd expect you to cope with that. However, it'd also be difficult to keep Skarmbliss in check with one more Pokémon, as well as having a better answer to offensive Water-types that can harm you.

Snorlax might be worth a go, as a Cursing varient with Fire Punch might be enough to ward off Blissey and Skarmory. It also boasts a good HP and SpD to aid in taking on the likes of Latios, Suicune, Starmie, and anything else you'll come up against. It'll even help against any Rotom-A without Will-O-Wisp, though you should probably use Rest on Snorlax as well to keep it healthy.

So, you're suggesting a Snorlax in place of Magnezone, and Pursuit in place of Crunch?? Actually, I think Pursuit would work, but the problem I have with that is that I don't get the Defense drop, which I need sometimes. Also, if a Pokemon decides to stay in, Pursuit won't do as much damage as would Crunch. I think Standard CurseLax would be a great replacement, I'll try it, and love it;). Thanks for the rate, will get back to you...

I wasn't really suggesting Pursuit on Tyranitar. I was just stating that without Starmie is free to switch out from Tyranitar all the time. Crunch is better for a Sleep Talk version.

Simply having a Snorlax would be enough to stop Starmie, depending on your move-set obviously. I'd probably suggest Curse/Rest/Body Slam/Fire Punch, but there are a few good moves that Snorlax learns, so test them out and see if it works.

LOL, OK, had edited everything before you said that, and it correlated exactly:pirate:. Anyways, thanks a lot for your rate, hopefully I can make my final push onto the ladder:).
