the swaggiest team u'll ever see probably

yo!!! im cam. im pretty new to competitive pokemon and i've been slapping together a bunch of teams and swapping out pokemon at random. i tend to stray away from really popular pokemon and legendaries because i think the less used pokemon are often really interesting! thats just a personal thing though... anyways, let me know what u think, this is just a typical offensive team basically :) also i am totally taking nickname suggestions too, i havent named them yet

the gang, at a glance...

LETS GET STARTED

392.gif

Infernape (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk // 252 Spe // 4 SpD
Nature: Jolly
~ Close Combat
~ Flare Blitz
~ Thunder Punch
~ U-turn

here we have my wonderful infernape! she's pretty typical, i think. throw her out, and take people out. she also is quite a good attacker imo. close combat and flare blitz are the standard stabs, they deal awesome damage and arent too bad to be banded into late game often. thunder punch takes out flying/water types its rly helpful!! and u-turn is helpful for scouting and easing that first pokemon prediction a lot :)

303-mega.gif

Mawile (F) @ Mawilite
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 132 HP // 252 Atk // 124 Spe
Nature: Adamant
~ Swords Dance
~ Play Rough
~ Sucker Punch
~ Iron Head

the sweeper of the team, and by far my favorite mega yet. she is just incredible honestly. i can get a guaranteed switch out often, and shes pretty bulky regardless, which makes getting off a swords dance or two easy peasy. and after a few of those, she just wipes the floor with the competition. play rough and iron head are just embarrassingly strong honestly. and sucker punch gives a nice priority move and good coverage. a 2x sucker punch can take out mega charizard y (which i was scared of before i realized that) and no doubt plenty more. plus, its nice to get off an intimidate sometimes just to make it all that much easier to set up with swords dance :)

302.gif

Sableye (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP // 252 SpD // 4 Def
Nature: Calm
~ Taunt
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Recover
~ Foul Play

sableye is cute and awesome. i throw her out and she absorbs sp.def hits, taunts stealth rockers//ppl with set up, burns physical attackers then foul plays the shit out of them , anmd then rcecovres. im in love with sableye were in a steady gay relationship
((currently looking for a replacement))

639.gif

Terrakion (~) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk // 252 Spe // 4 SpD
Nature: Jolly
~ Stealth Rock
~ Close Combat
~ Stone Edge
~ Taunt

terrakion is a new addition based on suggestions... they're a typical suicide lead i guess, i throw them out, taunt against opposing leads like smeargle or something, or stealth rock otherwise. from there i do as much dmg as i can b4 dieing... im sort of underwhelmed with this lead... who knows

245.gif

Suicune (~) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP // 252 Def // 4 SpA
Nature: Bold
~ Calm Mind
~ Rest
~ Sleep Talk
~ Scald

i havent had this thing for very long but they are SOOO good so far. absolutely imposisble to kill and suprisingly packs quite a punch. idrk what else to say, its a typical crocune set. suicune is pretty tho.

445.gif

Garchomp (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk // 252 Spe // 4 SpA
Nature: Naive
~ Fire Blast
~ Earthquake
~ Outrage
~ Stone Edge

i brought in garchomp to replace flygon and boy oh boy i like garchomp better. all in all she's just an improved version honestly. puts in hella good work. im running scarf now and it seems to be working great... very typical stuff honestly. naive nature ensures i outspeed a bunch of pesky pokemon like zard x.

==========================================

there u have it folks! please let me know what you think :) i spent like an hour typing this up and i have no idea why cuz i have a lot of hw to be doing b4 the years over but hey pokemons importan.t

p.s. im open to all criticisms, including replacing any move or pokemon honestly.
p.p.s. if anyone knows anything about machamp lead, hmu

576.gif

Gothitelle (F) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 HP // 252 SpA // 4 SpD
Nature: Modest
~ Psychic
~ Thunderbolt
~ HP Fire
~ Trick

630.gif

Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP // 252 Def // 8 SpD
Nature: Bold
~ Foul Play
~ Taunt
~ Defog
~ Roost

330.gif

Flygon (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk // 252 Spe // 4 HP
Nature: Jolly
~ Dragon Claw
~ Earthquake
~ Rock Slide
~ U-turn

479-wash.gif

Rotom-W (~) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA // 252 Spe // 4 SpD
Nature: Timid
~ Volt Switch
~ Hydro Pump
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Trick

342.gif

Crawdaunt (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk // 252 Spe // 4 HP
Nature: Adamant
~ Knock Off
~ Crabhammer
~ Aqua Jet
~ Crunch

Hey there! So, from the looks of it, you're building a very momentumbased offensive teams, since you have so many Choice items in your team. I'm all cool for that, but I think your team needs some moderations in order to succeed properly. First of all. your team needs hazards. SR is a must on every team, because it breaks random Focus Sashes, and racks up chip damage. I think a suicide lead of some sorts could work well in this team. Deo-D is a famous suicide lead, who can effectively put down SR and almost always Spikes in addition. Other suicide leads include Garchomp, Terrakion and Mamoswine, who have more offensive pressure than Deo-D, but can't put down Spikes. I think you could replace Mandibuzz with a suicide lead, since in an ideal scenario, you'd have no use for a physical wall, since your team needs all the turns it can to put down offensive pressure. Another thing missing, I think, is a Volt Switch user, since with that you can utilize the infamous Volt-turn combination. Good Volt Switchers are Rotom-W, Raikou, Thundurus-T and Magnezone. Rotom-W can run Scarf + Trick, giving him also added utility of crippling any walls that might be troublesome for your team. Also, Will-o-Wisp gives added utility to Rotom-W, crippling opposing Pokemon in addition to hitting moderately hard with Volt Switch and Hydro Pump. Raikou can function well as a powerful and fast CM user, or plain Specs user. Thundy-T can use Agility or Nasty Plot, or even Double Booster set to became a threat to every team in existence. Magnezone hits damn hard with Specs + Analytic boosts, the only downfall being that due to low Speed and crippling weaknesses, its very reliant on prediction. I think Gothitelle could be replaced with a Volt Switch user, as Gothitelle can end up eating too much momentum. While trapping Pokemon is nice, you'll either end up locked up in an unbeneficial move (Psychic and Electric are bad types to be locked into, and a weak HP Fire does laughable damage), or if you have Tricked your Specs away, you will become setup fodder for many things, since without Specs Gothitelle doesn't hit very hard.

I think your Infernape's set is cool, but I'd run ThunderPunch in place of Mach Punch. ThunderPunch is mandatory coverage for Infernape, hitting Char-Y, Gyarados, Azumarill and Talonflame, and some of these need to be hit on the switch. Also, with Iron Fist counted in, ThunderPunch is practically as strong as a neutral Close Combat, giving you a safe move to spam. I would maybe consider using Knock Off on the last slot on M-Mawile, as the added utility is nice, and its good not to be overly reliant on Sucker Punch, unless you really need a way to get past Fairy-types. Also, run 124 Speed on M-Mawile, to outspeed Scizor, Azumarill and Aegislash. I think you could consider using Life Orb on Crawdaunt, because nothing is more scary than a Crawdaunt who can use a powerful Knock Off and continue with a powerful Aqua Jet if need be. Also, you want to use max. Speed on Crawdaunt, as you want to be outsped by as little as possible. I think Flygon is another Pokemon you could replace, as even with CB, he doesn't hit as hard, and there are better Dragons to abuse. Garchomp can do everything Flygon does, but better (although I wouldn't recommend Band on Garchomp, Life Orb gets the job done, and you can afford to switch moves. Swords Dance Garchomp could be worth a try). CB Dragonite is an awesome option as well, giving you a nice strong priority with ExtremeSpeed, and thus outspeeding the likes of Talonflame and M-Pinsir. Kyurem-B also functions well as a Choice Band user, offering the strongest Outrage in the entire tier. I think that's all I can come up with, good luck with the team!

thank u so much for taking the time to respond!!!!! i took most of ur suggestions in and im going to start testing them out to see how i like them after i eat supper n_n

as per ur recommendation, i dropped mandibuzz for terrarkion, gothitelle for rotom w, and flygon for garchomp! here are the move sets i used

479-wash.gif

Rotom-W (~) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA // 252 Spe // 4 SpD
Nature: Timid
~ Volt Switch
~ Hydro Pump
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Trick

my main worry about rotom is when building this team, i tried to use them but i wasnt a big fan. i used the chestorest set at that time though, and maybe these new team mates will have better synergy hehe

639.gif

Terrakion (~) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk // 252 Spe // 4 SpD
Nature: Jolly
~ Stealth Rock
~ Close Combat
~ Stone Edge
~ Taunt

445.gif

Garchomp (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk // 252 Spe // 4 HP
Nature: Jolly
~ Dragon Claw
~ Earthquake
~ Fire Fang
~ Swords Dance

i love the idea of thunderpunch on infernape thats so good!! thank u for that one. i also put the 124 speed into mawile. ive found quite often that steel head has helped me out so i think im going to keep it on for now, considering my crawdaunt can dish out plenty of dark damage already.

what do u think of these sets? if i like them ill update my post hehe

EDIT: OoOOOOHH!!! i just remembered! i think sableye is realy cute and i know that theyre useable competitively... do u thik a sableye has a place in this team, or should i save them for another

Seems like a solid team after those changes, just remember that water pokemon/moves aren't the only things that benefit from rain. Otherwise worse moves like Thunder and Hurricane become devastating with 100% accuracy in rain. Good luck with your team :)

so ive been testing this, and floating anywhere from 1300 - 1400 basically....

some gripes i have that i would like help with:
i frickin suck with rotom-w honestly i've never used them effectively once in my life :( so i think id like to replace that with something (sableye?? ;))

i also dont know if i was just an idiot but i had particular trouble up against psychic types (i got sweeped by an espeon it wasnt even a baton pass team), rotom w, and blissey

what do y'all think?? Im gunna update the OP to this team now either way cuz it is better but just not to my tastes atm

Half of your team is weak to grass moves and 4/6 of your team is weak to Mold Breaker EQ so yeah replace Wash with a defensive Sableye. It's easy and fun to use. So if you do use Sableye, you can replace Terrakion's Taunt with another move. However, 4/6 of your team would be weak to fairy attacks. I hope you have a way of dealing with Bellyjet Azumarill. Also, your Crawdaunt's EVs should be in its Speed instead of Special Defense. If you're that concerned with its special defense give it an Assault Vest though I would rather give it Substitute and keep the Life Orb so it can still hit hard after predicted switchouts.

thank u!!! i threw in a sableye, havent tested him yet
here is the yea

302.gif

Sableye (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP // 252 SpD // 4 Def
Nature: Calm
~ Taunt
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Recover
~ Foul Play

as for bellyjet azumarill, crawdaunt and terrakion can both 2hk0 after stealth rocks, and if hes burned its no competition. do u have any suggestions for someone to throw on to combat him

rotom-w, blissey and azumarill are kicking my ass. help

Sableye is usually physically defensive. To deal with those water threats I've used Mega Venusaur to deter them. I don't see how you have trouble with Blissey, you've got two fighting types with similar weaknesses. I can see Victini (with Choice Scarf) as a replacement for Infernape too.

With the loss of Rotom-W, I noticed that your team lacks a Scarf, without changing the Pokemon I would recommend changing the Garchomp set.
450.png

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Stone Edge
It can come in and revenge kill, not to mention finish the game of as a late game cleaner. Outrage is a strong STAB, combined with the Naive nature ensuring that you are going to be out speeding Pokemon such as +1 MegaZard X. Earthquake comes in, also as a hard hitting STAB move being able to crush things in the tier such as Aegislash, Bisharp, Mawile, Tyranitar and many more without being locked into one move. I noticed that your whole team consists of Physical attackers which isn't a problem in anyway but mind as well take advantage of Garchomp and its' ability to utilize Special Attacks which is where Fire Blast comes into play over Fire Fang, it provides a slid 2HKO on both Skarmory and Ferrothorn without taking Iron Barbs damage(Ferrothorn). Stone Edge is to hit Flying/Levitating Pokemon without wanting to get locked into Outrage.
4 SpA Garchomp Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Ferrothorn: 232-276 (65.9 - 78.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Garchomp Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Ferrothorn: 172-204 (48.8 - 57.9%) -- 95.3% chance to 2HKO
4 SpA Garchomp Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Skarmory: 178-210 (53.2 - 62.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Garchomp Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 232+ Def Skarmory: 82-98 (24.5 - 29.3%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

In your description for Crawdaunt you mentioned her being banded, as in Choice Band I assume, yet it is a Life Orb set. Not to sure if it was because you changed up the sets due towards people suggesting it, just thought I would mention it :)
cahmayroon said:
im gonna be honest here... crawdaunt just isnt even fair. this thing is a beast. shes ridiculous. nobody can escape her wrath. 120 attack is nothing to laugh at already, plus her stabs do 2x instead of 1.3x, plus shes adamant, PLUS shes banded. its just plain cruel. knock off does wonderful damage to anyone who doesnt resist, and can get rid of pesky items if not kill ppl instantly. crabhammer is my water stab of choice. aqua jet deals a surprising amount of damage, and priority is always nice. and i threw in crunch for those pesky pokemon with berries or no item. crunch is basically filler though, im not sure what else to use.
Crawdaunt @ Choice Band
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Aqua Jet
- Crabhammer
- Superpower
So, I recently made a post about Crawudant. Now looking back at it and reading DracoNinja comment I have to agree what Choice Band is the only reliable set for coming in against a wall therefore making it a wallbreaker. Too slow for OU as a Dragon Dancer to sweep and once you get of a Swords Dance, you lack the speed once again for something to not easily come in and fire of an attack to OHKO you. Crawdaunt plays the role of coming in on a wall, firing off a hard hitting Attack and then fleeing. This however is not needed for your team, due to having Infernape already there as a Choice Band user and Garchomp as the revenge killer. I just posted the set to show the example, this is why I think CroCune would also be a nice choice for this team. Reasons shown below.

Bring on the CroCune! ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ

Irony how this team lacks swagger or blackglasses

Ya run scarfchomp

Firstly Sableye honestly isn't doing anything for the team, if you want it as your spinblocker there are many better ghosts-types than Sableye.

Crawdaunt is kinda bad in OU because of its really pathetic speed and terrible bulk overall, basically it gets KO'd before it can even KO stuff. I would change Crawdaunt to Greninja if you still want a water/dark type, or Crocune because your team lacks a proper stallbreaker and your team would really appreciate one, Mega Mawile+Infernape+Crocune would easily squash opposing stall teams, and Garchomp can easily come in and clean up the game

thank u all for these responses u are wonderufl people :) ill type something more out later but right now im caught up with stuff

what do u think i should run over sableye? first thing that comes to mind is crobat (whom i fell in love with recently on a new team im going to post about sometime in a new thread)

also for crocune, is there any particular reason to run pressure over water absorb? it would seem 2 me like water absorb would be better
