The Swift Fighters

Hey Smogon!! I am a beginner in competitive battling. I have been using this team against people through Wi-fi matches. This team is not really too good, so that's why I posted this RMT. Any suggestions/rates/criticisms would be greatly appreciated!!! I hope you will enjoy my first RMT!!!

This team is a rain team without Drizzled Politoed.
Ever since the ban of Drizzled+Swift Swim, no one ever uses Kingdra and Ludicolo again. It's such a shame, as they are my favourite. I built this team to help them shine and to prove to people that they are still strong as ever.

Team at glance:

This team is divided into three parts:

The Support:
Jolteon.png

Jolteon@Life orb
Trait: Volt Absorb
Evs: 4hp/252SAtk/252Sp
Timid Nature(+Spd,-Atk)
-Rain Dance
-Shadow Ball
-Volt Switch
-Hidden Power Ice

Rain dance first, then Volt switch out to my sweeper. Hp ice takes care of dragons and Gliscor, as well as making the "Bolt-Beam" combo. His blistering speed makes him a good revenge killer too. Shadow Ball handles Ghosts and Psychics. Jolteon is great against other rain teams because he outspeeds the Genies, and severely damages Politoed. Jolteon also absorbs electric attacks. I really like Jolteon, but if you know any better replacements, please let me know!!

Bronzong.png

Bronzong@Damp Rock
Trait: Levitate
Evs: 252hp/152Def/104SDef
Relaxed Nature(+Def,-Spd)
-Rain Dance
-Stealth Rock
-Hidden Power Ice
-Earthquake

Most of the time my lead because of his solid set-up ability. First turn SR, second turn Rain Dance, then switch out to my sweepers according to the right match-up. More defense for countering sandstorm sweepers like Landorous or Excadrill. Under the rain, Bronzong has no weaknesses and is tough to take down. He also covers my team's weaknesses pretty well.

The Sweepers:

Ludicolo@Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
Evs: 252hp/252SAtk/4Spd
Modest Nature(+SAtk,-Atk)
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Giga Drain
-Rain Dance

Say hello to my bulky sweeper. In the rain, this guy is so fast!! He is also very bulky at taking special hits. The moves give him great coverage, and Ludicolo can take down Rotom-W one-on-one. He also beats Gastrodon, Quagsire, and Swampert with his powerful Giga Drain. Surf because accuracy is more important on Ludicolo. Ludicolo is so strong against opposing rain teams, as they have almost nothing to take it down.

kingdra.jpg

Kingdra@Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
Evs: 252Atk/244SAtk/8Spd
Lonely Nature (+Atk,-Def)
-Dragon Dance
-Hydro Pump
-Outrage
-Waterfall

The star of the show is here!!!! Kingdra is the reason I built this team. He is an absolute monster under rain!! Hydro Pump 2HKOs Skarmory with ease, and takes down other physically defensive pokemon like Gliscor. Dragon dance to boost power if rain is not up, waterfall and outrage provide good coverage. I absolutely love Kingdra.

The Revenge Killers:

Conkeldurr@Leftovers
Trait:Guts
Evs: 252hp/252Atk/4SDef
Adamant Nature(+Atk,-SAtk)
-Drain Punch
-Mach Punch
-Payback
-Bulk Up

Standard Conkeldurr set. He beats my biggest enemy, Ferrothorn. Conkeldurr is my dedicated check to Excadrill and Terrakion. Guts Conkeldurr is so incredibly powerful if my opponenet burns it by accident. Payback helps with beating Psychics. He is my lead when facing sandstorm teams with Tyranitar. Conkeldurr can soften steels up for Kingdra to sweep.

180px-609Chandelure.png

Chandelure@Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
Evs: 4hp/252SAtk/252Spd
Timid Nature(+Spd,-Atk)
-Overheat
-Psychic
-Energy ball
-Shadow ball

A fire pokemon on a rain team?? Yes, please!! I use him as a lead against hail teams, as he pretty much OHKOs every ice pokemon. I use him to kill stuff like Foretress, Scizor, and Ferrothorn. His STAB shadow is extremely powerful, it can heavily dent walls like Reuniclus, Jellicent, Celebi, and Slowbro. Energy ball to get surprise kills on Quagsire and Gastrodon who think that they can wall me all day. Physic for opposing rain Toxicroak and other fighting types.

THREAT LIST:

Specially Defensive Jirachi is a pain. Rain helps out his fire weakness, and i don't have any ground attacks. I usually use Chandelure outside of rain to kill it. Big threat.

Trick Room Reuniclus turns my amazing speed against me. Its is so annoying. I usually go for the KO with Chandelure, if he doesnt die, I'll probably loose.

Celebi is kind of dangerous as it is quite bulky. I usually use Ludicolo to wall it and Ice Beam it.

Once again, thanks for reading my RMT. I am a beginner, so any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

A few changes I recommend.

1. You should put Life orb on Jolteon, or Choice Specs. If you go with Choice Specs, replace Thunder or Volt Switch with Shadow Ball and make Hidden Power Grass instead of Ice. (also, add your 4 extra evs to speed.)

2. On Conkeldurr, replace Mach Punch with Payback. (It helps with those psychics your having trouble with.)

3. On Chandrelure, change Flamethrower for Overheat, as your scarf'd, and even in the rain, Overheat is going to do considerable damage even if the damage is cut in half.

Hope this helps.

Thxs for the suggestions, its really helpful.
Ill change Jolteon's item to Life orb, possibly Shadow ball over thunder as he is not meant to be a sweeper. Hp ice is really useful though, ill test it out.

Mach punch is much needed on Conkeldurr, maybe Payback over stone edge since most of my other pokemons can take on flying pokemons.

Ill change that on chandelure right now, thxs for the help!!

Hey, cool team

First off, I recommend Thundurus over Jolteon. Priority Rain Dance is great for these kinds of teams. The set should look something like this. |Thundurus @ Leftovers | Naive | 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4HP | Rain Dance | Thunder | Focus Blast | HP Ice |

I also recommend Leftovers over Flame Orb on your Conkeldurr. This way you can use Conk as a status sponge and he'll last longer. Conkeldurrs already pretty strong so you won't need the guts boost right away.

Lastly I recommend putting your Ludicollo HP EVs into Speed. SS'ers should always have max speed and that set your using is more of a sweeper set. The speed would be appreiciated.

gl!

Thxs for the great rate!

I am really satisfied with Jolteon's performence right now, so I am more inclined to keep it. However, I do see that Prankster+Rain Dance is very effective. I will test it and decide for myself.

I'll change Conkeldurr's item now.

For Ludicolo, should I maybe put half ev in hp and speed?? I really like the added bulk. Help??

You wanted help with the Ludicolo's Speed? Here it is

(Calcs are after the SS-Boost)

0 Speed EVs --> You'll outspeed base 110 (Gengar)
4 Speed EVs --> You'll outspeed base 112 (Scolipede, Tornadus, thundurus have 111)
252 Speed EVs --> You'll outspeed Ninjask (by far) but not deoxys-s

___________________________________

You really don't need to outspeed Ninjask (its only purpose is baton pass and after 1 Speed Boost its quicker allready).

If you want to outspeed the first quickest treat to ludicolo, you might want to consider being faster than Accelgor = base 145.
You need 152 EVs for speed to do this.

If you don't need to outspeed Accelgor (or if you don't want that) you need to outspeed Crobat. To do this you need to take 88 EVs for your speed. (With this you'll also outspeed Jolteon and Aerodactyl = base 130)

I can recommand 1 of the 2 last choices: 152 or 88 EVs for Speed
