Hi, I'm lionrt60, just another random of the smogon Pokémon Online server. This is my second RMT on smogon, the first being a really shitty OU Trick Room team with Specs Stunfisk. To be fair it worked better than you would expect (though not much :3) but lets get to the point which is the team I'm actually making this RMT for. The team was built up from a Scarf Torterra set I was trying as a non-scarf Sawk counter, it was only after that I realised there really aren't many Sawk that aren't scarfed, however it did well in its other role as a revenge killer, outspeeding max speed base 85s. At this point of writing the RMT I fear I wont have much to talk about in Torterra's set description so let me show you how I built the team.

~*~* Teambuilding *~*~

As I explained in the introduction the team started as a Torterra set I was testing.

Monferno (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
Ivs: 0 HP / 0 Def / 0 SpD
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Stealth Rock
- Endeavor
- Taunt
- Vacuum Wave

Monferno is acually who I almost always lead with because good or bad type match-ups dont matter in the least with her. If you think the opponent will attack use Stealth Rock, If you think they'll lay hazards Taunt, then Stealth Rock and as NU leads are generally slow they'll hopefully have attacked or switched to a hardhitting threat. In either case Endeavor, hopefully if your opponent switched the opponent will be fast and you can reduce the opponent to 1 hp and Vaccum Wave for the KO, If the opponent stayed in he will have got 2 attacks in and as a lot of leads arent paticularly hard-hitting you will have had your hp lowered by a decent amount and in turn lower his, then if you think Vaccum Wave will KO use it, if not switch and keep your taunt and predict the switch-in to prevent hazards. Of course the Opponent may lead with an attacking Pokémon in which case just Endeavor and Vaccum Wave.

Torterra (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Wood Hammer
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
- Earthquake

There isn't that much left to say about Torterra that I haven't said in the intro. Speed allows Torterra to outspeed max speed base 85s. Wood Hammer for powerful STAB, Earthquake along with Stone Edge for the famed EarthEdge Combo that gives amazing coverage and Earthquake is STAB as a bonus. Superpower is for Dark and Steels/Rocks that it works better than EQ for.

Zangoose (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Immunity
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Frustration
- Close Combat
- Quick Attack

To be honest Zangoose isn't working as well as i'd like it to. Suggestions are very welcome but anyway, Swords Dance then Frustration as primary STAB, Close Combat as coverage. Quick Attack for priority and that's really it. Zangoose does pack some amazing power and good speed so i'll occasionally revenge with him.

Quagsire (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Recover
- Scald
- Toxic
- Earthquake

I'm sure you have seen this set before, Max Defense and HP, Recover is used to, well, Recover. Scald is used against physical attackers to, with a bit of luck, inflict a burn to halve thier attack. Toxic is used to wall other walls or anything the situation calls for really, Earthquake is STAB and the attack i will use when not causing status or healing to whittle down the opponent. Unaware is really amazing though as it allows quagsire to come in on even Belly Drum Linoone/Charizard or really +6 anything and just ignore the stat boosts.

097.gif

Hypno (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Insomnia
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss

Hypno is my Special Wall and a good one at that the only problem being ghost types but we'll get onto that later. Wish and Protect allows Hypno to reliably regain health and support its teammates, Toxic allows Hypno to whittle down opponents HP and Seismic Toss allows Hypno to avoid taunt and whittle down the opponent. Her only problem is Ghosts who can avoid Seismic Toss and hit back Super Effectively, especially Haunter who also avoids Toxic due to his poison typing. At the moment I'll normally switch in Raichu and T-Bolt away, then set up a sweep. Other than that I dont know what to do to fix the problem.

Raichu (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Static
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Grass Knot

I have to say Raichu is the MVP of this team, she almost always gets a few kills! Nasty Plot is a great set-up move increasing Raichu's already great Special Attack by double in one turn and 4 times if you get another Nasty Plot in. Thunderbolt is Raichu's primary STAB, Hidden Power [Ice] yields brilliant coverage with Thunderbolt forming a Pseudo-BoltBeam Combination. Grass Knot is Raichu's last move and is great against things like Aggron that are heavy.

~*~* Conclusion *~*~

If you have read this far thanks for putting up with my god-awful writing skills xP. Anyway, more often than not I win with this team, I dont have some awesome ladder ranking for this team but I do decently with it and its fun :3 I do want to make the team more competitive though and I hope you will help me in that. :p

~*~* Importable *~*~

IMPORTANT: If you are going to use the importable remember to change Monfernos Ivs before battling!

Ok, I like this team's creativity. That being said, several members of your team make me question its effectiveness. Monferno is a cool Poke, but Golem has become very popular, and you risk dying to Rock Blast just to put up Stealth Rocks. This generation, you really want to make every Pokemon count. I won't ask you to replace it, but I still have to warn you.

Scarfed Torterra outspeeding Base 85s is cute, but so can Rock Polish Torterra. Why limit yourself to one attack, when Torterra's STAB moves aren't actually that hard to wall?

Zangoose seems to be a weak points because it doesn't have the speed to guarantee a sweep, and it doesn't have the defenses to tank more than 1 hit and Swords Dance up. replace it with something that can actually take Water attacks, as a strong Water Poke can sweep your team relatively easily. Gorebyss, Huntail, Samurott, Ludicolo, Floatzel, and Rain teams in general can mop the floor with your entire team, and I see absolutely nothing that can save you. Zangoose can be replaces with Ludicolo, who can take on Rain teams and Water-types in general. Alternatively, you can replace it with a Scarfed Rotom-S and make Torterra a Rock Polish user.

Sawk isn't that hard tocounter, Scarfed or Banded. Banded Sawk is slow enough to be worn down, while physical walls can tank everything Scarf Sawk dishes out. Making Torterra specifically revenge positive base 85s is nice and all, but it isn't worth locking Torterra on a Grass or Ground move (Stone Miss isn't accurate enough to rely on). Just let Torterra use its standard set and leave the Scarf revenge killers to something reliable. It'll make your team more consistent.

Btw, Aggron is RU XD

If you want to keep the same vein of Zangoose, Quick Feet Ursaring does the job excellently. However, I agree with WhiteDMist that Gorebyss and Ludicolo are huge threats to your team. A specially bulky Ludicolo of your own would do wonders to patch up this weakness.
