Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to my second Rate My Team! I like using underrated pokemon in OU battles to show that salemance ISN'T unbeatable. Without further ado, the team!
The Team Building Process:
The Team:
Weavile@ Muscle Band
252/Atk 4/HP 252/Spd
Adamant~ Pressure
Ice punch
Brick Break
Night Slash
Retaliate
Synergy:
Fire- Whiscash
Fighting- Golbat, Chimeco
Rock- Klinklang, Whiscash
Steel- Klinklang, Whiscash
Bug- Klinklang, Golbat
The lead of the team. Weavile's are fast and strong and a force to be reckoned with. I lead it to scare out weaker or supereffective foes. The STAB ice punch terrorizes anything supereffective and OHKOs weaker neutral damage, taking chunks out of anything. Night slash takes care of things that resist ice but take neutral and of course those pesky psychic and ghost types. Brick Break works great on low health rock and steel types if I feel brave. I like Retaliate for a powerful revenge kill. Oh and don't worry, Ambipom leads are slower, so a U-turn KO is out of the question.

Klinklang@ life orb
124/HP 132/Atk 252/Spd
Adamant~ Plus
Shift Gear
Gear Grind
Return
Rock Smash
Synergy:
Fire- Whiscash
Fighting- Golbat, Chimeco
Ground- Golbat, Chimeco
This is my potential sweeper. At first i wanted a strong , defensive steel type. Then I started thinking of sets for this guy and had low expectations. But Klinklang proved me wrong! Steel types force out switches left and right, giving a free turn to set up Shift Gear, a Klink exclusive move that initiates sweep mode. Gear grind, another Klink exclusive move, enforces sweep mode, clobbering pokemon all over the place. Return is also a viable option for ground types and the like who resist steel. And if a steel type tries to ruin my fun i have Rock Smash. It's not very strong, but it is boosted by Shift Gear and super effective. At least I'm not walled by steel.

Golbat@ Evoilite
100/HP 208/Def 200/Sp Def
Careful- Inner Focus
Roost
Curse
Brave Bird
Poison Fang
Synergy:
Psychic- Chimeco, Weavile
Rock- Klinklang, Whiscash
Ice- Klinklang
Electric- Whiscash
I love this Golbat. I aimed for a bulky set, with EVs for defense, not attack. When looking for a last move I saw curse and thought "that could work." I'm glad I use it now because if unprepared it can tear teams apart. Roost is for his general walling, Curse sets up his tanking, and Brave Bird is STAB and very strong. It also goes well with Roost recovery. Poison Fang is STAB ass well, but it is also for poisoning for toxic stall. Or poison stall.
Raticate@ Flame Orb
252/Atk 4/HP 252/Spd
Jolly- Guts
Facade
Suckerpunch
Protect
U-Turn
Synergy:
Fighting- Golbat, Chimeco
Raticate! For some reason, very underused. He has nice speed and attack, paired with guts and jolly nature he is one tough cookie. Raticate is also, sadly, quite fragile. That's what protect is for on the first turn to activate Flame Orb. Suckerpunch is the only priority of my team, and it's very useful against ghosts who forget Raticates can learn it. Facade is deathly strong due to STAB, guts and status. U-Turn is also for scouting, easy damage or a quick revenge kill.
Whiscash@ leftovers
100/Atk 74/Def 78/Sp Def 252/Spd
Adamant- Anticipation
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Earthquake
Spark
Synergy:
Grass- Golbat, Klinklang
This is my pride and joy. Starting from the top, Whiscash. I chose leftovers because I want to keep him alive as ling as possible instead of maybe Life Orb. I use attack EVs for that extra boost before Dragon Dance. I also used some defensive EVs to compliment his great HP and max out speed to increase the effects of DD. So of course DD is the main objective, getting even one makes him a big threat. Waterfall and Earthquake are very strong STAB and nice coverage. Also, my favorite, Spark! Any water types trying to wall, flying types, whatever. Spark! Are you serious how does that even happen you're a ground type? Nuts. anyway, huge threat and great asset to the team.
Chimecho@ Leftovers
252/HP 116/Def 80/Sp Atk 60/Sp Def
Modest~ Levitate
Heal Bell
Wish
Protect
Psychic
Synergy:
Dark- Klinklang
Ghost- Klinklang, Raticate
Bug- Klinklang,Golbat
That's right, Chimecho. She's pretty much purely support. Wish is great for healing up my team and it is my first time using wish so i didn't know how well it would work. Heal Bell is also great, but don't worry I have experience with it. Protect get's me a free heal with wish and psychic can do a surprising amount to anyone who doesn't resist. Seriously, I was surprised.
So that's my team. I've used it a few times and it works pretty well I've won 5 out of 6, not big numbers but I just made it. But wait, there's more!
Parasect@ leftovers
252/HP 172/Def 84/Sp Def
Careful~ Dry Skin
Spore
Aromatherapy
Leech Seed
X-Scissor
Why the hell did I pick that picture? Holy shit that's gross. Anyway this is a possible replacement for Chimecho who I feel could be a little better. Spore is a godsend and aromatherapy is the same as Heal Bell. Leech Seed could help life longevity and X-Scissor is, well, a powerful STAB.
Well that's the real end. Any input would be great. Thanks!
The Team Building Process:
First, I had to account for the general OU metagame. Which pokemon rule the realm? Well, the most powerful, frustratingly strong pokemon who can tear dreams apart are dragons right? So i need to take them out, fast and strong. I chose the evolution of an old favorite, Weavile, to give them a run for their money. He's as fast and strong as they come and ready to break down dragons and other strong opponents.
Next I needed to cover his five weaknesses. I took care of three of them in one choice. "it" has great bulk and offense, while not having a very wide movepool, it has all the moves it needs to to work proficiently. Klinklang, a pure steel type, covers weavile's weakness to rock, steel, and bug while also serving it's own role as a bulky sweeper.
Now i need a really defensive pokemon. I created an evoilite tank who ends up working in with the team very well. He resists Weavile's bug and fighting weaknesses as well as klinklang's fighting and ground weaknesses. I made a Golbat who is defensive first and a tank second, but a tank nonetheless.
There is still a big weakness to fire on my team, as well as electric and even rock if klinklang falls. so who resists all three, and effectively at that? Well Swampert could, but everyone knows his potential. Quagsire too, but i'm thinking lower. Whiscash. Whiscash has excellent hp and decent defenses as well. Also, Whiscash has access to dragon dance! I had to try this out for myself and i love him so much. More on him later because I'll just ramble on.
So now Weavile is covered, Klinklang is covered, Golbat is covered besides psychic and Whiscash is covered as well. Of course Weavile can't be the only fast and powerful attacker on my team. I wanted to use someone very powerful while not adding new weaknesses to my team. A normal type. A normal type like Raticate. Raticates are significantly underrated for some reason and I don't like it one bit. Now i have to show his worth on my team.
My final slot is for team support. I wanted a supportive pokemon to do the basics, heal teammates, cure status, take hits, yadayada. I chose an innovated form of support chimeco for this role.
