The Unusual

Ok. My exploration has been quite different than I expected. It's lower with weather mostly but very fun and I picked a good mix of mon that I feel like could use a change but not fully sure what entirely. Here goes...

Dance (F) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 16 Def / 236 SAtk / 16 SDef / 236 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Inferno
- Shadow Ball
- Pain Split
- Energy Ball

Dance is a Special attacker that is mostly built to be on the ceiling of the battlefield. With this pokemon it has honestly STALLED a Snorlax to a draw (as in battled to a standstill) which I had a great laugh about. Energy Ball is for the Ground and Water Types while Shadow Ball is the first Stab, and quite fun to use (both do drop Sp.DEF which is something no one wants on a mon). Pain Split is for Recovery and Inferno, What else could be said? It's Granted Burn at the luck of a coin toss. A Burned mon is worth the effort. (Also, burning a Gligar turn one was epic laughs since it used a sub to try to protect itself.)

Bullets (F) @ Scope Lens
Trait: Sniper
EVs: 16 HP / 4 Def / 236 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Muddy Water
- Substitute
- Yawn

I know why people want Swift Swim but seriously, unless the team is based on rain it's not going to help a lot. Of course this is probably not the best make of a mon but I wanted to go different. Ice Beam is to strike other dragon pokemon which is a good thing most of the time and I'm sure I'll get told Draco Meteor is better than Muddy Water or I should have gone Surf but I wanted to try an effect to go with the move. Sub is a good move to protect though ment to be a blocking move while Yawn is to force switches.
=
Highness @ Choice Specs
Trait: Poison Point
EVs: 240 SAtk / 16 SDef / 248 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Earth Power
- Sludge Bomb
- Thunderbolt

I'm swallowing my pride with this one since this is the kind of move I normally see others do and I'm not a big fan of choice items but here's the mon picked... But to the moves. Two Stab moves, which I see is quite a good pick of half my attack moves. Thunderbolt is for the water types and a good surprise from other mon. Dragon Pulse would be a sure fire attack to hit any mon coming to play.
=
Madam Rose (F) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 24 HP / 236 SAtk / 248 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Giga Drain
- Extrasensory
- Substitute

The poisonous pokemon that seems to rule this tier so why not enjoy the mon? Toxic Spikes is the only hazard used in my team so it'd help a lot in poisoning some mon that I can. Giga Drain gives HP as well as Black Sludge while Extrasensory is a surprise for fighting fellow Poison pokemon or a fighting type. Subsitute is a good defense so why not use it?
=
Lightsight (F) @ Ghost Gem
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 244 Def / 236 SAtk / 28 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Shadow Ball

With this as a reflection pokemon, this is what could help in clearing hazards into the oppositions' field. And with this mon as a heavy defender done doesn't expect a special attack so heavy so I went with Psyshock and Shadow Ball going at both sides of the battlefield a bit with Roost being the recovery move.
=
Combo @ Shuca Berry
Trait: Justified
EVs: 236 Atk / 244 SDef / 28 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Thunder Wave
- Close Combat
- Iron Head
- Substitute

IF you haven't noticed, I'm a Sp-ATK battler but with this mon being the only physical mon, I got to use this mon wisely. T-Wave helps with speed with how little SPD I put in, Sub for a little defense, And two very good Stab moves that could work if able to go first, Close Combat to give serious damage and Iron Head for Flinching purposes.

I'll admit that a mostly special attacking team is a bit bad but with how I feel that Special Attacking is Safer, it would make sense to me to go with it. Though it does have some drawbacks but It would be the safer route with a good number being physically bulked. But then again... I can be wrong. Please if you can, leave a comment below.

Hey, that's an interesting Kingdra set you have there, but I couldn't help but notice you didn't have any crit ratio increasing moves. Have you given any thought to Razor Wind over Yawn? I would also recommend Scald over Muddy Water to burn pesky Steel-types like Empoleon and Registeel, who otherwise wall your Kingdra entirely.

That is a very surprising Xatu set, I'm sure it catches many people off guard. I think you should put Hidden Power Fighting over Roost, it counters Snorlax who think they can switch into you, and run Substitute over Thunder Wave as a good way of defending against various attacks.

Nidoqueen should run life orb over specs and sheer force over poison point, unless there are specific ko's you are trying to get as the extra power of specs is not always worth being locked in, especially when there will be no recoil when using sheer force. I would run sleep powder over substitute of roserade for the chance to take out a counter that other wise would be a problem. you're ev's are slightly funky across the board but if they are the one's you want go ahead.

Interesting thought. I thought it would be a bit of an acc drop but burn does help more if a mon is physical. (though if special I can guess that'll be problem)

...I'm a bit worried there. IF I go hidden power then I'd be losing an Sp.ATK point. But would it still work?

For Nidoqueen, You tried it out? I normally surprised a few with the speed Ev since no one expects a speed queen. It doesn't got defense but better to get a hit in first than hope you make it to move normally.

For Roserade, I honestly can't use Sleep Powder with the other moves to exchange Sub with. Might need help.

And I will admit there's some weird things but I wanted to not go full "252/252/4" with all my mon.

I did run sheer force life orb nidoqueen for a while and found her to be one of the best lure in the tier. Poison point is pretty much useless.
252/252/4 is used because most of the time it is just not worth putting evs anywhere else.
