The Wrath of Lucario

So here is my latest OU team, and it is by far my most successful team as of yet. It has only lost twice because of opposing Metagross, while winning 20 or 25 battles. This is for Wi-Fi, and and rates would be much appreciated.

swampert.png

Swampert
Relaxed @ Leftovers
252 HP/252 Def/4 SpA
-Stealth Rock
-Earthquake
-Ice Beam
-Roar
Swampert has always been one of the most consistent leads for me, getting Stealth Rock up most of the time. I went with Roar just so I didnt have to deal with the annoying Baton Passers. He is also my secondary answer to Heatran. Main switch into Electivire, Jolteon, Metagross..etc. Swampert also helps deal with Gliscor, the main Lucario counter in the metagame.

latias.png

Latias
Timid @ Leftovers
4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
-Calm Mind
-Dragon Pulse
-Surf
-Recover
Latias is the main special attacker on my team, while also serving as the answer to the ever annoying Infernape. He is also my secondary Calm Mind Sweeper, with nearly unresisted coverage with Dragon Pulse and Surf. Any opinions on whether or not I should use Thunderbolt over Recover for Empoleon?

porygon2.png

Porygon2
Bold @ Leftovers
252 HP/216 Def/40 SpA
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Thunder Wave
-Recover
Porygon2 is the glue to my team, helping deal with many of the main threats in OU. Destroys Salamence, Gyarados, Heatran, and Jolteon with trace, threatening to either KO or cripple with Thunder Wave. Recover is an obvious choice.

jirachi.png

Jirachi
Jolly @ Choice Scarf
4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
-Iron Head
-Fire Punch
-Thunderpunch
-Ice Punch
Scarf Jirachi helps with checking many threats in the OU metagame. He is my only real answer to the ever present Scizor, and my main switch in to lucario. Also helps as my secondary option for Gyarados, and probably the only answer to Tyranitar and Mamoswine on the team. Also helps with Zapdos, a common switch in to Lucario.

salamence.png

Salamence
Naive @ Life Orb
24 Atk/232 SpA/252 Spe
-Draco Meteor
-Flamethrower
-Brick Break
-Roost
Mix Mence is here to basically rip holes in the opponents team, which will then be crushed by Lucario. Not all that much to say about Salamence. Helpful for enemy Skarmory and Bronzong, as well as Metagross because it is one of the few members on my team with a fire move. Greatly helps prepare for the imminent Lucario sweep.

Edit: Changed to Naive nature with new ev spread.
lucario.png

Lucario
Adament @ Life Orb
252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Extremespeed
-Crunch
Lucario, the star of the show. After counters such as Gliscor, Zapdos, and Weezing are out of the way, I can proceed to SD and sweep. Close Combat and Extremespeed are self explanatory. I decided to go with Adament and Crunch for the added power, and the ability to deal with Rotom-A and Dusknoir. I do not have to worry about Gliscor, as Swampert already deals with it, so no ice punch.

The only things that have really given me trouble so far are Metagross and Bronzong. Other than that though, nothing had really given me any trouble.

So there is my team, please rate/comment to improve my team, and just as a reminder, this team is for Wi-Fi.

Thanks, Dukefan5

this is a good team. I have two things.

First you dont have empoleon but it says you do on the Latias
Second I know this is for wifi but if you ever use this team on shoddy I see HP fire as a good option on Latias. U seem to have trouble with steels even though meta is covered by swampert. Jirachi isnt a good counter to scizor because he cant take repeated u-turns and fire punch doesnt even ohko.

Well, I meant should Latias have Thunderbolt to deal with Empoleon, not on Empoleon. I realize that Jirachi isnt a great Scizor counter, but I have been able to play around by predicting a CB move. However, I was considering a scarf magnezone instead of scarf jirachi, but I feel that this would make my team overly specially based.
Are there any thoughts on this?
Thanks for the rate, and more rates would be very much appreciated.

Jirachi locked on Ice punch allows Empoleon to set up a Substitute then Agility and activate it's Petaya berry sweeping your team so, Thunderbolt would be the better choice, other than that it's pretty good..One more thing..

Jirachi is the glue to my team, helping deal with many of the main threats in OU.

Lol, I suggest you edit that...

For your Jirachi, a Trick-Scarf set would be better. A choice scarf Flygon could rip through most of your team, EQ kills Lucario and Jirachi, Outrage kills Latias and Salamence after intimidate. Of course they would have to be very good at prediction.
All in all, I think you have a great team!

Hello. (Yea I don't feel like typing a second sentence).

Anyway, I don't see much of a point to your Porygon2. Jirachi is handling all of the revenge killing for you, so there's no real need for Porygon2. Latias and Swampert counter Heatran anyway (unless it's running some sort of strange Fire Blast / Earth Power / Dragon Pulse / HP Grass set), so that point is moot. Swampert handles Thunderbolts while Latias handles HP Grass, so there's another reason you don't need P2.

Now people have mentioned your weakness to Sub Petaya Empoleon. While Tentacruel is as good of a counter as you're going to get to it, it's much too defensive for your team. A more offensive choice would be Infernape, as it has Mach Punch to quickly break either the sub or Empoleon. By using a physically based set, it can also scout with U-turn and hit Latias with it also.

Infernape @ Life Orb
Naive | 252 Atk / 64 SpA / 192 Spe
Overheat / Close Combat / Mach Punch / U-turn

Overheat is only slightly weaker than the specially based Mixape set's Fire Blast by 2%. Close Combat is pure STAB, while Mach Punch revenge kills any Empoleons in your way. U-turn allows your team to scout for any threats. Replace P2 with this. This however does add a 3rd Ground-type weakness to your team, so you have to play smartly with Salamence and Latias.

A second minor change. With your current Salamence, you aren't speed tying with other Mences. Go with a 24 Atk / 232 SpA / 252 Spe with a Naive nature for your Mence. This will make it so you can at least die with other Mixmences and DD Mences before a DD.

While I would've prefered to put a Pursuiter on your team to handle Rotom-h, there's just no room for it. Just play smartly to get rid of it.

Also, by giving up Recover on your Latias, you lose the ability to Calm Mind efficiently. If you really want Thunderbolt, you can try switching to a Life Orb set. Just replace CM with Thunderbolt and your item with Life Orb. It's only a slight drop in power for more coverage and power without setting up.

Well, the only issue I have with that is relying on a speed tie with Jirachi in order to beat dd Mence. If swampert has any damage whatsoever, then salemence beats it, and I am swept by the dragon. I will go with that set for mence, so i can tie other mences. Also, I will keep recover on Latias, as I would rather not rack up with the residual damage of Life Orb. I will however test the Infernape and see how it goes.
Thanks for the rates, and keep the coming.
