this is my simple team, help me fix it.

This is my usual OU competitive team, it's pretty solid against most teams except Sunny Day based ones due to Venusaurs...and the fact Sleep Power never seems to miss on me, but the shceme is simple, the steels protect the dragons from Ice, and the Dragons in turn protect them back while Infernape and Starmie offer all around support, overall my policy is to get in, hit the enemy fast and hard or die trying to do it, it's my battling style and I like my team to reflect that, I also like simplicity, I don't like going overboard with the specifics, also i've grown quite accustomed to not using legendary/high grade/whatever you wish to call them pokemon, and prefer not to use them as i believe they personally take the fun out of battling. Anyone can run into a battle with Latios, Jirachi and Terrakion, and thier likely going to win, but I feel that by doing that the challenge factor is null and void, and being able to beat teams that use said pokemon is alot more satisfying to me.

Changes in Bold.

I also don't have a sturdy leader (no pun intended) as thanks to the team check, it's impossible to have a solid lead now adays.

Jirachi@Leftovers
Ability:Serene Grace
Careful Nature (+SpDef,-SpAtk)
Evs:252 Hp, 224 SpDef, 32 Spe
-Stealth Rock
-Iron Head
-Body Slam
-Wish

After testing this thing along with Latios it is awsome, it sets up Stealth Rock so I don't have to cheat my other guys to do it, as well as offering Wish healing support which is nice, but thanks to it's ability it can occasionally paralyze incoming opponents allowing me to Iron Head them to death or use Wish to heal someone else in need. This pokemon has already proven to be a valuable player to my other pokemon with it's healing and paralysis powers, and in it's first run singled handledly crushed a Donphan, which is very impressive.

Spinner
Starmie@Expert Belt
Ability: Natural Cure.
Timid nature(+Spe,-Atk)
Evs: 252 Spe, 252 SpA, 4 Hp
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Rapid Spin
Standard spinning Starmie, all of the moves offer extensive type coverage as well as STAB on HP, Rapid Spin is there for getting rid of opposing obsticle threats like spikes and rocks, covers Infernape well and helps cover the steel types as well. This pokemon helps ward off fighting pokemon as well as ground pokemon, along with Infernape and Lucario it's one of the triad which carried me through the fourth gen and i don't want to replace it. the Expert Belt works well enough on Starmie, providing it the power it needs without resorting to using another life orb.

Offensive Force
Lucario@ Life Orb
Ability:Justified.
Adamant Nature(+Atk,-SpA)
Evs: 252 Spe. 252 Atk, 4 hp
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Crunch
-Extremespeed

Lucario is one of my favorite pokemon and it fits right at home here, even with out swords dance boost it can use it's other moves effectively for clean up duty as well as catching opponents in a switch and inflicting pain on them with STAB Close Combat, Extremespeed helps pick off weakened threats, and Crunch is there to deal with opposing psychic's and Jellicent. Lucario along with Scizor help Protect Dragonite and Hydreigon from threats and vice versa. This pokemon along with Infernape and Starmie carried me through the fourth gen well, and i would rather not get rid of them.

Old Reilable.
Infernape@Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Naive Nature(+Spe,-SpDef)
EVs:252 Spe, 252 Atk, 4 SpAtk.
-Mach Punch
-Overheat.
-Close Combat
-Stone Edge.
Even though i've had to resort to using it differently this gen than the last one, Infernape continues to be one of my prime fighters, Close Combat hits hard with STAB and thanks to the life orb boost kills anything weak to fighting. Stone Edge is there to deal with flying pokemon as well as the occasional Volcorana that might appear in my way, Overheat is my fire move, and while yes it is basically a one shot, it can get the job done with that shot, as if a pokemon lives with sturdy they won't be living too long when something else hits the feild or I get them next turn, Mach Punch is the final move on this set, originally I had it for Excadrill, but now that Terrakion is running on alot of teams I feel it necessary to have counter measures to deal with the bull. This pokemon like Lucario and Scizor helps cover for the dragons and starmie against the types that beat em, and like Starmie and Lucario I consider it a core member of my team.

Trickster Dragon.
Latios@Choice Scarf
Ability:Levitate
Timid Nature(+Spe, -Atk)
Evs: 252 Spe, 252 SpAtk, 4 Hp
-Draco Meteor
-Psyshock
-Surf
-Trick

Not only is this thing fast, but with Trick it can cripple opposing pokemon by tricking the scarf onto them, and combos well with jirachi who can then body slam said pokemon into paralysis thereby making them wearing the scarf useless, Draco Meteor hits for massive pain, as does Psyshock which thanks to STAB, Surf hits a good deal of pokemon as well, and Trick is just plain awsome to use when done correctly, but if not it can outrun high speedsters and knock em senseless.

LGS (Late Game Sweeper)
Dragonite@Lum Berry
Ability:Multiscale
Adamant Nature (+Atk,-SpAtk)
Evs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 Hp
-Extremespeed
-Dragon Dance
-Fire Punch
-Outrage/Dragon Claw.

Generally comes in last (or goes first depending on what the opponent has), but there are times I won't hesistate to send him out first if the opposing team presents a problem to his ability, Dragon Dance is there for boosting which is generally followed by Outrage to rip through most of his opposition, Fire Punch helps deal with most steel types (outside of Heatran) and Extremespeed helps pick off weakened opponents like Lucario who he helps protect, though sometimes I wonder if Dragon Claw is a better choice as being locked down can be a drawback at times.

I'm not gonna lie, this team may not be the best in most eyes, but it's been good to me so far, getting more wins than losses, the pokemon cover for each other type wise and my style is extreme hyper offense (I don't care much for setting up entry hazards nor do I fear Toxic Spikes (since only one team member is effected by it that being Infernape, sure Starmie can get poisoned but upon withdrawl it is healed), go in and attack as quickly and hard as one can, the simplest method in my mind. Go in and win or lose trying by brute force.

I can't generalize my weaknesses (by pokemon anyway) cause i'm not smart like most of the people on this site, though I know some people have said I have a weakness to rain dance teams (even though type wise that isn't the case, but I see what thier getting at in terms of bulky pokemon) however in weather terms i fear Sunny day more as for why I mentioned in the beginning, why Venusaur isn't being suspect checked I have no idea since it's the second coming of Excadrill but I digress, and the overeliance of Priority probably isn't good sometimes, but it definitely makes up for disadvantages in speed based fights.

this is my team, please help me here.

Hi, cool team you have here. The most common threats to your team are rain and sun teams for sure. Offensive DD Gyarados that carry Bounce can also pose as a threat to your team. It can easily setup on Scizor and rip your team apart, especially if Dragonite is already KO'd. Another nuisance to your team is VoltTurn teams since you lack a Pokemon to take hits. The final threats I found were Tornadus-T and Latios. Tornadus-T can dismantle your team with Hurricane. Your only resist is Lucario, who is rather frail. I suggest changing Hydreigon to Latias to deal with VoltTurn cores and Rain + Sun teams. Latias's excellent defensive capabilities and access to Recover allows it to take on Rain and Sun teams quite well, being able to come in repeatedly on attacks due to her superb defenses. Latias also handles VoltTurn teams easily. It can easily take on Rotom-W and is able to roast Scizor with Hidden Power Fire. Latios's typing also removes the Fighting-type weakness you had with Hydreigon, which is a plus. Volcarona still proves to be dangerous to your team, however, which is why I suggest replacing your Infernape set with a Choice Scarf set using Close Combat / Flare Blitz / Stone Edge / Thunderpunch. Infernape will be able to OHKO Volcarona with Stone Edge and Gyarados with Thunderpunch. My final suggestion is swapping either Lucario or Scizor for a Specially Defensive Jirachi. This addition shuts down both Latios and Tornadus-T being able to take Draco Meteors and Hurricanes all day. Jirachi can also act as a healer for your team through the use of Wish for your Pokemon who do not have recovery moves. Your team greatly benefits from Stealth Rocks, which Jirachi also provides. As for Outrage vs Dragon Claw on Dragonite, I would definitely recommend using Outrage instead. Being locked into Outrage is annoying, but the damage is definitely noticeable. Overall, solid team.

Hope I helped.

Hi, nice team

Now, I think your team has quite a few troubles. First off, setup sweepers could give you a lot of trouble, since your fastest pokemon, Starmie, can be outpaced and killed by many things at +1 Spe (Mainly DDancers and RPolishers) You lack fast, powerful revenge killers, so setup sweepers could be problematic. Rain could also be problematic, not a single pokemon on your team can withstand 2 LO Hurricanes from Tornadus. Keldeo-R can also do some damage since Starmie is not bulky. Thundurus-T can also rip apart this team since your only Electric resist goes down to HP Ice. I think your weak point is in Hydriegon. It's neither fast nor is it very power without a boosting item. It has Dragon resistances, but its Dark typing sucks defensively, being weak to Fighting and hence Keldeo / Terrak / Loom, and it's SpDef isn't enough for it to be taking hits even with its resistances. To help you counter Rain better, as well as Sun, to a good extent, and some setup sweepers too, I suggest you replace Hydriegon with Choice Scarf Latios.

Latios @ Choice Scarf
Timid / 4 Hp / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Draco Meteor / Psyshock / Surf / Trick

Latios would be a great help to your team. It's very fast, powerful, and can check a multitude of OU threats, including all fighting types, Tornadus-T, and RP Landorus-I. Its speed lets you revenge kill mosr scarfers and set up sweepers in OU, relieving your priority users from having to switch in and out frquently to try to eliminate faster threats. It hits quite hard with DMeteor, and can plow through teams, opening opportunities up for DNite to set up and sweep as well. Latios handles Sun well too. It's got great Special Defense, and can OHKO Venasaur with Psyshock. Its special defense also helps when handling Rain teams- as it's a great switch in to Rain Spam, and with Surf can deal a lot of damage there as well. Draco Meteor is your powerful STAB; and Psyshock is to nail the blobs and fighting types. Surf is for coverage; it hits through steels and is a nice way to defeat Sun / Rain. Trick is a useful move thay can cripple walls or other set up sweepers.

Now, after this change, there is still more to be done. Skarmory could become a defensive burden, constantly wearing down your spinner and fast attacker, Starmie, as well as Dnite with SR. It's time you rid Skarm as a threat by giving Starmie Thunderbolt over Ice Beam. Thunderbolt hits right through Skarm's defenses, and cripple it so that another attacker can come in and finish it off. TBolt also hits bulky water types quite hard, which will help Scizor hit hard.

Also, because your team lacks hazards, keeping certain Flying / Bug types at bay may not be so easy. For this reason, I recommend that you give Infernape Stealth Rock instead of Mach Punch. For one, Mach Punch doesn't even help much; you have Scizor to take down Terrakion, and Dnite/Luc to revenge weaker pokemon with ESpeed. Stealth Rock, on the other hand, helps you beat Sun teams a lot, since many carry Magic Bouncers over spinners now, and Xatu is not going to want to switch in on you.

Also, if Jellicent ever becomes a problem, you can run Crunch on Lucario over ESpeed. You won't need to use ESpeed often anyway since Dnite's ESpeed is more powerful. However, this might make it harder to defeat faster foes, so it's up to you.

Good luck

Ok so Latios over Hydreigon and Jirachi over Scizor are ok suggestions i'll definitely look into putting them on my team, try them out and update if thier good, thanks for the other suggestions as well^^

I'm torn on the Infernape ideas though, what sounds the best for him.

Update: Latios and Jirachi have done very well thanks for the sets as has Starmie from it's changes^^

Only bad thing is now i think I might need Bullet Punch on Lucario cause I got mowed over by a Tyranitar with Choice Scarf^^;

Good idea or bad idea, but over all the last advice i'll probably need.

Also thank you all for looking over my team^^

Hey there,

This team is extremely vulnerable to a lot of setup sweepers in general. SD Garchomp [not to mention a lot of these have Yache] and CM Keldeo have a great chance of beating you if Starmie dies, which isn't too uncommon since it's Pursuit bait. Garchomp kinda demands that both Lucario and Scizor are still alive which might be sort of hard to do, while Keldeo gets on a clean sweep if SR happens to be up. DD Salamence is in the same vein if it ever gets to set up on you, since it has that great Outrage/Fblast/Earthquake combo that can really decimate you, and you have nothing to outspeed it at +1. Another thing I noticed is that your core of Infernape/Scizor/Lucario are all walled by Tentacruel and Jellicent, which is sort of a problem. Normally it's good to stack sweepers but these guys are legitimately straight up walled. I'm going to reccomend putting a Swords Dance Terrakion over Lucario and have that work proactively with Dragonite instead. Dragonite can be a lot better in the "breaker role" to set up and just dent the fuck out of the opponent early or mid game, so that Terrakion can get a fair field to sweep in. Obviously you can still sweep late game with Dragonite but Terrakion sort of gives it the ability to have a double purpose, while being able to threaten a Tentacruel or Jellicent that may switch in [81.93% - 96.53% to Jelli at +2 Stone Edge and 93.13% - 109.89% to Tenta, both sets at standard]. Terrakion also helps overcome a lot of Dragonite's counters in Hippowdon, Skarmory and Gliscor with its boosted attacks, easily pushing all 3 to a much easier point for Dragonite to possibly KO. I'm also going to suggest Stealth Rock>Stone Edge on Infernape, it's literally such a helpful move and after you hurt any of Dragonite/Terrakion's counters, you can force them back out to take more damage with your Starmie or whatever. I'm also going to suggest putting a Scarfed Latios over your Hydreigon to help your problem with setup sweepers. It has a ton of power, an amazing speed tier and also can utilize Trick, to cripple walls so that your sweepers can break through. In addition to all those merits, it can counter Keldeo whereas Hydreigon is just decimated by Sacred Sword. Latios is also a fantastic check to both rain and sun teams.

Change Summary:
Infernape: Stone Edge->Stealth Rock

Hey!

Interesting team dude. Bulky offense is sometimes difficult to play in BW especially since weather control can be game changing. The most efficient bulky offense teams usually utilize Deoxys-d as their lead. I think your team could really make use of the Deoxys-d for some momentum (and limiting switches for opposing weather teams). Furthermore, Infernape pops out at me as the "odd man out," mostly because Infernape isn't good nor that efficient.

First, I think you should switch Hydreigon for Deoxys-d. As I mentioned earlier, Deoxys-d will give your team a lot of momentum to start the match. Oftentimes, beating a weather team comes down to momentum, and if you can keep your tempo, you're going to win easily. Aside from CB Tyranitar, there is no Pokemon that should be able to stop you from getting Stealth Rock on the field. Most of the time you'll get even more hazards. I'd use the Mental Herb with Taunt / Spikes / Stealth Rock / Thunder Wave set. Obviously max Speed and HP. Just set up Stealth Rock and as many Spikes layers as possible and proceed to use your high powered sweepers to finish off the match.

Next, Infernape definitely needs to go. You've got tons of priority on this team, so set up Pokemon shouldn't be a huge issue for you. At the very worst, you're going to sacrifice one Pokemon and revenge with another. I think you could use some raw power. Sub DD Gyarados looks like a solid Pokemon for that slot. It's very underrated, and it's a huge threat to Rain teams. Sun teams nerf its Waterfall, but they can't KO Gyarados, so Gyarados often takes Sun teams by itself. Use Sub / DD / Bounce / Waterfall with 56 HP / 248 Atk / 204 Spe and Adamant Nature. The spread allows you to outspeed every relevant OU threat as well as maximize bulk + power. Furthermore, Gyarados will help you beat Pokemon like Tentacruel and Starmie that try to Rapid Spin your hazards. You can get free Substitutes, free DD's, and force the opponent to make mistakes. One DD is enough for Gyarados to sweep entire teams.

Finally, I would recommend Thunderbolt instead of Psychic on Starmie. Psychic isn't the best choice on Offensive Starmie because it doesn't hit things for Super Effective damage. Psychic (Psyshock, really) is used on Defensive Starmie just for neutral coverage. It's kind of like Seismic Toss where you want to do some damage, but realistically you're not going to KO much.

Good luck!

Changes have been made in bold.

Infernape can do some things Terrakion can't do, it can KO pokemon like Gliscor with overheat as well as take on scarf Tyranitar with Mach Punch, not to mention thier speeds are tied unless the Terrakion is wearing a Choice Scarf, Infernape might be frail but it has the power to fight.

Now i'm more intrested in what to do to change Lucario (though it's all about that final move, Crunch or Bullet Punch, or should I replace Extremespeed for Bullet Punch and still have Crunch?), as i've said before it, Infernape and Starmie carried me through gen four, so i'm not taking those three off this team, especially now that they've got more backup to help them unlike before.

Salutations!

This team is actually quite reminiscent of DPP, so I like that touch. However, there are a few changes that just might make the team more suitable for more common threats. On Infernape, try out 40 SAtk EVs to always OHKO standard 252/168 Ferrothorn in rain after Stealth Rock. It'll also add a bit more umph to your Overheats and extra damage is always welcome. Of course, these EVs will be taken out of Atk, so your final EV spread should look like this (with the same nature): 216 Atk / 40 SAtk / 252 Spd. I'm going to make a series of changes to the team pertaining to coverage, and it starts with Infernape. Since you have a bit more SAtk EVs, try out Hidden Power [Ice] over Stone Edge. It still hits flying types, and you really only lose coverage on Volcarona, which can be tricked by Latios or walled by Dragonite depending on the set. Since the more common set has Giga Drain + Dual STAB, you have the majority covered. Anyway, HP Ice has several benefits. For one, it has 100% accuracy, meaning it's something you can rely on. Second, it hits so many things for 4x SE damage, such as Landorus, Dragonite, and Gliscor. Gliscor and Landorus don't really mind Overheats in rain, but they will die to HP Ice. Since your team falls pretty easily to Modest RP Landorus, this is a good way to scare it off. Here's the final set:
392.png
(F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 216 Atk / 40 SAtk / 252 Spd
IVs: 30 HP / 30 Def
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Close Combat
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Overheat
- Mach Punch
Since this makes Gliscor and Landorus-T much easier to deal with, it's time for Lucario!

Lucario has such an annoying 4-move-slot syndrome, but with the right team support, it can find the perfect move for it. In your case, I do think Crunch is the superior option, especially since Gliscor, Landorus-T and other bulky flying types are covered quite nicely. Jellicent, on the other hand, only fears a boosting Dragonite or Latios' Trick, so adding another option to take it out easily is crucial. It also helps against Reuiniclus, which can be a pain once Jirachi's gone (yeah, if X is gone Y sweeps, but Jirachi is pretty susceptible to Dugtrio). Then, move the 4 HP EVs into SDef. This gives you a Life Orb number (meaning more times to hit since you have an odd number) and gives Download Pokemon an Attack boost. The most notable is Porygon2, which can survive a CC and Tbolt back. Here's what the set should look like:
448.png
(F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Steadfast
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- ExtremeSpeed
- Crunch

And lastly, Starmie should definitely be using Psyshock. With Deo-D / Gengar teams running all over the place, you'll want a definite way to spin, which Psyshock guarantees (except on ScarfGar). Without Rain, Surf can't OHKO Gengar (Hydro Pump can't either!) while Gengar can OHKO back. Then you'd lose a spinner and that would be HORRIBLE. Psyshock also allows you to ignore any Calm Mind boosts by the likes of Keldeo while OHKOing Terrakion in Sand since it ignores the SDef boost. I'd definitely replace either Ice Beam or Thunderbolt, but I don't know which one you value more, so I'll leave the decision up to you. If you want BoltBeam + a Water move, you could use a Life Orb + Hydro Pump which always OHKOs Gengar, but it wears Starmie down quickly and provides an inaccurate move.

And that's it! Good luck with the team dood!
